Took my son here to get his first guitar and had a great experience. The staff is super knowledgeable and friendly. The store has a nice selection without being overwhelming. Will return for any musical needs in the future.

Went through a really nice easy experience getting a saxophone. I haven’t played since I was a kid. Now I’m excited to get into it.

The only place I go in North County for supplies and repair. They have a great selection of reeds and accessories. Also available are some woodwind and brass, plenty of guitar and bass.

Dale and his staff are very knowledgeable in what they do. They repaired a student flute of mine so that I have a good playing back up flute. My Armstrong bass flute went in today for probably a full overhaul. Check back later for that review.🎵🎼🎶

I’ve been here with my brother on several occasions to get our guitars worked on. From the technicians to the customer care, everyone at this location is phenomenal. Unlike most other music stores in the area, Guitar Center *cough cough*, whether you’re a novice or a trained musician you can trust SD Music Exchange to treat you fair and honest without judgement. Their work is top quality, their prices are accommodating, and their employees are awesome, to say the least. Thanks Dale and the team for doing what you guys do and doing it the best in the county!

Hands down the absolute best music store I've ever been in. Dale and the guys are friendly, professional, and experts at their crafts. I've been going here for 11 years for all my musical needs. They are knowledgeable and well respected by local musicians and the schools they support. You won't be disappointed!

I had bass shipped from out of state and as you can guess it looked like Ace Ventura delivered it. Fretboard coming off the neck. Took it to Dale after a lot of running around, he was awesome, got it fixed up and playing great. Fast service, good price. Definitely recommend!!

Aaron & Louis were hands down the BEST customer service I’ve ever received. The amount of patience and expertise they provided in the purchasing of my daughters new trumpet was without doubt, above and beyond. They not only answered ALL questions professionally and with warmth, they both went beyond that to help me find the perfect masterpiece, tell me more in debt about what the trumpet provides, and gave me advice from their personal experiences. Thank you both SO much, it will truly be the best gift for my daughter. You are very much appreciated.

We had a great experience at The Music Exchange as we were looking for and purchased a beginner Yamaha guitar for my grandson. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly.

I went there with my son to purchase a tenor Sax - Aaron helped us, and was very patient. My son was able to test out a couple of saxophones, as well as a couple of mouthpieces. Aaron really helped him articulate what he should listen/look for in his mouthpieces - We were in the store for 2.5 hours, and never felt like we were taking too long. Aaron and the rest of the staff was very understanding that one has to take one's time when choosing an instrument. Thank you guys for your help. My son is really happy with his sax.

From the owner to the staff I have always been happy with their people, products and services. Friendly people, good quality work and fair prices. Just had a fret job done on my favorite guitar and the work was solid.

Always excellent advice, service, products, repairs, you-name-it. Whenever anything musical comes up, I know I can go there for an answer or a referral elsewhere on those rare times where I need something they don't have. What they say they can do, they do very well.

Dale, is a fixture, like since I was a teenager, still super friendly and helpful. Great variety of gear and folks who know about it. Check it out.

I've been going here for years and have never had a bad experience. Fair prices, friendly staff, and everything you could ever want for your musical career. They are loyal to the customer and have a vast well of information on everything music related. Beginner and need to pick an instrument, they got you covered and can help you get lessons too. Instrument needs maintenance or repairs, this is the place. Need new music to learn and enjoy, pick it up here. All this and more because this isn't just a store, it's part of the community and life blood of the music scene in the area. 10/10
