Elk & Hound Restaurant

Our family was spending the night in the area and this was the recommended family restaurant in the area. I'm so happy that we went!!! We were greeted right away and all the staff was amazing with our young and energetic boys. Our server Amber really made an impression and was simply amazing!! Food was delicious and had the best salad bar I've been to in years! Will definitely be back if the opportunity arises in the future!

We were going through this town and looking for a place to eat with our two boys that wasn’t a bar-like atmosphere. We found Elk & Hound on google search. It was a Monday evening and I was thankful they were open as many places in the area were closed. We arrived in the nick of time, as a storm was rolling in and all the golfers were coming to eat as well (it is a golf course restaurant). The waitstaff were all running to keep up with the rush of people. They checked on us often and apologized for us having to wait, although you could tell that they were extremely busy. We were able to get a table quickly, the salad bar was phenomenal and despite having a the max capacity at the bar and restaurant,the salad bar was constantly tending to and full. The spring mix was fresh, soups were tasteful and unique, and the side salads were delicious! I could have filled up on just the salad bar! We got our food and it was all hot and plentiful! My son, a 9 year old picky eater, said it was the best burger he’s ever had! My husband and I both got a different baked white fish recipe and they were great! I will definitely be back when I go through town again. The customer service was top notch. The atmosphere was really kind of cool quirky with some unique fireplaces and the dining hall was welcoming. Thanks for a great experience!

Nice place able to accommodate our group of 9 easily. Food and service was good. Small soup and salad bar was excellent, small but had all the right stuff. Plenty of parking.

We had a mid afternoon meal on a snowy day. The service was attentive but not pressing. I had a tasty Chicken Marsala with Chicken Parmesan soup. We all enjoyed the food and ambiance and the price was reasonable.

Paradise burger on the lunch menu was the best burger I’ve ever had, I have them everytime I go to a restaurant. Charlie is the best server around. Highly recommend to stop here!!

Our meal came with beautiful presentation and tasted fantastic! Every staff member was friendly and delivered excellent service. Thanks for a wonderful lunch!

This was the perfect supper club meal. Their oven wasn't working so we couldn't have a couple of the menu items so instead we had the Friday fish fry special, one with the garlic fries and one with the regular fries. We wanted to try their soups but they were working on another batch and had to wait, but it was worth it! The beer cheese soup was great. When we got our fish fry, it was so good, one of the best I've had!
They accept card or cash here. Most any dress code is fine.

The walleye cheeks, omg! And steak bites! So glad we stumbled upon this place. Excellent.

Amazing pan fried white fish! Soup and salad bar rocks! Homemade desserts and soups were the BEST! Friendly staff and owner and chef very hospitable!

We ended up at the Elk & Hound after finding out there was a long wait at another restaurant we had planned on going to initially. We are so glad we had dinner here instead! Our server, Charlie, was amazing! Super friendly, attentive, and a delight to chat with. We both had the prime rib special, which was delicious and came with the soup and salad bar; so lots of food. At the end of dinner the chef came out with a surprise of freshly made cotton candy! Yum!!! Seriously, when has that ever happened?! Our entrees and one Vodka cranberry came to $58!!! Unbelievable prices, first class service, and amazing food! We'll definitely be back! Thank you to the wonderful staff here for making our night!!

Had the mushroom and Swiss burger, it was cooked well done instead of medium like I asked for but was still delicious. The burger does come with tomato as well.

Stopped in on a Friday night for a fish fry. Service was prompt and attentive, drinks were perfect, and our meals were delicious.

The atmosphere was warm and cozy. The waitstaff went out of their way to be helpful and accommodating. They are worth their weight in gold. The salad bar for the Memorial was delicious. Will visit again!

Absolutely amazing place! Unassuming decor but the service and food were on par with the best I've ever had. Not only were our meals exceptional but we received a delightful amuse-bouche and a glazed bread that had us attempting to reverse engineer it layer by layer. (I must have it again!) Throughout the meal it was evident that the chef really has a passion for food and your experience. We absolutely will return whenever we are in town. All in all a hole in one!!

Great food! Great prices! Wonderful service. Wait staff super friendly and chef makes great menu and special options. Not usually satisfied always seems to be same old same old with reviews but food, service,and great view of golf course made the day! Thank you

The waitress brought an unexpected appetizer which was awesome and the salad bar and soup were delicious. The main course my husband had German Mac&Cheese he said was absolutely amazing my Ribeye was fantastic with rice piloff and roasted veggies. We'll be back!

Ya know....this was a shockingly good find...they seem to have some staffing challenges so the service was a bit slow and the menus wasn't fully available but every.single.bite we ate was amazing. 10/10 would make a side trip to eat there again when we are in the area.

Absolutely amazing! The staff were very friendly and helpful as well. We will definitely be returning!
