SureStay Plus By Best Western Black River Falls

We come here every year for our Christmas vacation to visit family. I love the staff. Very friendly. Shannon took great care of us this year. We love the great complimentary breakfast and in the evening we love relaxing with friends and family at the Orange Moose Bar and enjoy challenging each other on the pool table. They have made a lot of refreshing improvements to the rooms and common spaces. This is a great place for family to get together. Lots of fun! We will definitely be back next year.

The desk employees are the first impression when you enter a hotel. These people are all very nice, and make you feel welcome as soon as you walk in. The room was nice and clean, it was spacious, and most importantly, it was quiet. I believe the layout of the building helps with the noise reduction, and we were towards the end of the hall, so that contributed, but it was great.

Enjoyed our stay. Room was very tidy, nice quiet hot tub and pool area, bar tender was amazing! Would definitely come back.

Excellent service and very clean rooms. Rooms a bit outdated but overall a great stay! Relaxed in the hot tub and enjoyed the Orange Moose bar!

We consider the Surestay at Black River Falls to be our Northwoods cabin. If you love God’s Country you can’t beat the setup. The ATV/UTV/Snowmobile trails have a spur directly off the parking lot. You can even rent a UTV right in the same complex. There are four dining options without leaving the parking lot – The Orange Moose Bar & Grill, Perkins, Subway, and Taco John’s. The travel center there provides fuel and essentials, and we’ve used their RV dump station on return trips from the far north. There are even two fast chargers for electric cars right outside the hotel. Other nearby attractions include the Ho Chunk Casino, State and National Forests, the Black River and Wahzee Lake. In short, it’s a sportsman’s paradise.

The hotel is built like a fortress – all masonry with fire doors from an era when they made things to last- the end result is peace and quiet. While not perfect, the maintenance of the facility shows ongoing investments in maintaining and updating the physical plant. Inside amenities include a swimming pool, hot tub, and the Orange Moose Bar & Grill. Outside, there’s a nice boardwalk along the retaining pond, nature trails, and a neighboring campground.

We’ve visited this hotel many times over the last dozen or so years. The staff consistently delivers an excellent experience. I’d like specifically to call out the woman who runs the breakfast – she has been there for a long time and her efforts to provide an excellent breakfast in a clean and welcoming place reflect her pride in the work.

To summarize, you’d be hard pressed to find a better place between Chicago and the Twin Cities to take a break, or to spend some time enjoying Wisconsin’s natural treasures.

Since we couldn't get a room in Eau Claire, we drove on to Black River Falls to stay in sight of the Orange Moose. Extremely glad that we made the effort to return to a laid-back friendly hotel that I have used multiple times before. This is rural Wisconsin and it's worth visiting.

The rooms are outdated, but the carpets have been removed so the floors are vinyl planking. It's very very clean, with no trace of odors, quiet, and with views of the big pond by the highway. After a week of camping, our family really enjoyed the shower. Breakfast has scrambled eggs, tater tots and sausages, as well as the usual array of cereals. There is a bar and grill in the hotel, as well as an indoor pool. It's a great stop when traveling across the state.

I stayed here recently and the staff was so kind the commons person Isabel was so sweet and thoughtful! The front desk person Fran was very sweet too. The maintenance Manger John recommended I stop at some of the local restaurants! Definitely will stay here again!

Very nice hotel !! Loved the bar and pool services

My room was HUGE! King size bed, super clean and cozy. Staff was awesome too. That’s the best room I’ve spent the night in for less than $100 in a very long time. I will definitely be staying here again should I be in the area long enough to do so. Being a truck driver, I’ve spent nights in hotels all over the continental US and this was definitely one of my favorites! Also- I was happy to see there was no carpet. I’ve always thought carpet was gross lol

It truly was a lovely stay. Ample parking. I live life in a wheelchair so accessibility to all parts of the hotel were unlimited. Both the pool and a hot tub have chair lifts but the lift in the pool was not working at the time of my stay. A lift for the hot tub was working but did not have a retention device (seat belt) so I opted not to use it. That was the only downside to my stay) The room was modern, updated and very clean. The bed was very comfortable and a pillows fluffy. The room smelled fresh and clean. The pool was very nice and in good condition. The staff was amazing and check in was flawless. We enjoyed the continental breakfast. Most of the people we met on our stay were working on various projects and have been there for quite some time. They had nothing but good reviews for us about their stays as well. We would highly recommend this Best Western to anyone.

We go to black river to visit family and every year and this is our new hotel. Front desk staff is awesome, very friendly and helpful. The lobby was decorated beautifully. Breakfast was the best. Love the grounds... it was nice to watch the snow fall on the frozen pond. The room was clean and well stocked.

My 3 boys and I went there for New Years Eve and we enjoyed ourselves. Mitzi at the front desk was the sweetest lady. She definitely takes pride in her work. Boys had fun it the pool, pizza was great, and beds were so comfortable. We will be back sooner than later😍

This hotel was located right off the highway so it was easy to get too. The price was a great deal. We had AAA, so that gave us a nice discount. The room was very nice and clean. There was a wet bar, a microwave, a fridge and the beds were so comfortable! The staff was really friendly too. They also have a bar and grill within the hotel so you don't have to drive anywhere to eat. The food was great! There was also a pool and jacuzzi there, but unfortunately we didn't have time to enjoy those! All in all, I give them 5 stars because I literally have no complaints about them! I really enjoyed my stay!

This place was quite a surprise 😊 Very pleasant, courteous staff. It was obvious to me that good quality customer service is not only their top priority, but they went above and beyond! Thank you so much for your professionalism and assistance Marilee! I was lucky enough to have my room upgraded to a King Suite for free. The room was spacious with a livingroom, a jacuzzi tub, a fireplace, and a patio, and two flat screen TVs. The room was clean, even the remote controls were clean. The bed was very comfortable. The best sleep I've had in a very long time! And it was quiet...I slept so well. There's also a small recreational pond/lake with paddle boats and picnic style tables. There is an indoor pool and hot tub, a gym, and a bar called The Orange Moose with a pool table and a small stage for live music. It's all very cozy and comfortable, so even on rainy days, you'll have a pleasant stay. And yes there's truck parking available onsite and they offer a generous trucker discount. There's also a travel plaza across the way.

We had an amazing experience here. The front desk associate Nitzie was incredible, she checked us in promptly with a smile and ensured our stay exceeded our expectations. Kristin the bartender makes a cosmopolitan that is absolutely out of this world! I have never had better! This place is highly recommended!

My co-workers and I stayed at this motel and we're extremely happy with the service and friendly staff. We operate dump truck on road projects in the area and it's nice to have a place like this to come home to..So to speak...after a long 12-14hour day. The on site bar and restaurant are very convenient and they did give our company and very competitive rates. We will be back.

The room was very clean and the bed we're very comfortable. The TV was sideways ehich would be an inconvenience if you wanted to watch before bed. The bar downstairs by the pool smelled like smoke but the room where breakfast was served was perfectly fine. The breakfast had a good selection and was acceptable. The pool and hot tub we swam in was very comfortable and didn't have too much chlorine. Although the hotel is by a road, the traffic couldn't be heard from our room.

We had a great stay here. Originally only one night but ended up staying two nights. Staff were all friendly and helpful. The room was across from the elavator over looking the parking lot so we could keep an eye on our ATVs. Breakfast was good with many options: scrambled eggs, waffles, 4 kinds of cereal, fruit, pastries, yogurt and a couple other hot items that change daily. Beds were comfortable and we slept great.

The property is massive. Enjoyed the walk around the pond for some relaxing exercise before calling it a night. The hotel was full but you would never have guessed. We were able to get a spot for dinner in the restaurant and a table for breakfast without having to wait. Our room on the second floor was huge. Largest hotel room we've ever had. Bed was very comfortable, made it hard to get up in the morning. Overall an exceptional stay and we'll be back again

Perfect stopping point between Ontario and Manitoba. Rooms are clean and well equipped as is the pool/hot tub.

No complaints. Especially for $75 a night.
