We went up to feel at peace, and unfortunately our kids were acting really disrespectfully. The people on the property were very nice and asked if we had seen the garden, at the moment in which we just wanted to run home embarrassed. They made us feel at ease. They are open to the point between Sunrise and around sunset.

one of just two traditional tibetan temples in america, it’s the pacific region retreat center for the nyingma school of buddhism. founded by gyatrul rinpoche (who has recently passed 🥀), many teachings and retreats have been given by major nyingma teachers over the years, and it’s been visited more than once by the head of the lineage. there are monks and laypeople living on the property and nearby. it’s lovely and peaceful, lots of nature and semi-tame deer. no hunting, so the animals know they are safe. the best place i’ve spent my time in my entire life.

Awesome views, very serene and secluded. Lots of nature all around the property.

We went there as a group from Ashland, and it was a wonderful and sacred experience for us. We spent time with the VajraSattva statue flanked by the Green and White Tara and the huge bright red prayer wheels. The temple above inspired us with its detail and bright colors. It was much like Nepal which I have been to many times, even the dirt road leading to Tashi Choling. The nuns there were very kind to us and helped us set up a table with 8 chairs under the shade of the large tree next to the temple overlooking the incredible view.

Gorgeous and Peaceful! There isn't a more well kept environment surrounded by nature and inviting atmosphere to compare to. As an inspiring Buddhist this is a perfect place to be introduced to Chinese Buddhism, with very helpful monks more than willing to show you around and inform you of their goals and history. Surrounded by wildlife and wonderful people I have and will return again, more than worth the drive from Interstate 5 and Hilt. I've added photos for you all to see. Thank you and Namaste.

I highly recommend this center and the teachers that come to teach at Tashi Choling. The founder of this center was sent to the West to teach Dharma by His Holiness the Dahlia Lama, one of the earliest. He is acknowledged by the Dahlia Lama and other high Lamas. Anyone researching Venerable Gyatrul Rinpoche will find he is humble and authentic in every way. He has helped me tremendously on my path and though I have only seen him a few times in person remains as a blessing in my heart.
Also, the Vajrasattva statue at the Center is worth the trip in and of itself!
