Tashi Choling Buddist Temple Garden

This place is INCREDIBLE, and absolutely massive! The pictures really do not do it justice. I've visited Buddhist temples both in Taiwan and North America and those were nothing compared to this! And it's rare to find a temple like this that allows pictures. However it looks like the interior can only be visited with a tour. I'm not sure how to go about arranging one, but we got really lucky and one of the women who lives there was able to get us inside, and it was the highlight of our visit. The interior really should not be missed. This may very well be the most beautiful architecture I've ever seen, and it's worth taking the dirt backroads to get here.

I visited a similar one in Trinity County and that one had automated prayer wheels and the temple wasn't as spectacular or accessible, and none of the structures could be entered. Though the grounds were maybe nicer, this one definitely offers a much more authentic Tibetan experience and absolutely should not be missed. Just do know that the complex is huge and you'll have to drive to the different areas. There are other areas then just the temple and garden, but I'm not sure if they're open to the public.

If you do come here, I recommend entering from California, even if you live in Oregon. Though it may look further on the map, the road is better and will save you time. Ignore the sign that says, "Your GPS is wrong, turn around."

I like to visit Tashi choling to see the statuary and the Beautiful Tibetan art. The inside of the temple is very peaceful and it has an offshoot of the original tree that the Buddha got enlightened under.

What an amazing temple and Gardens. Tucked in a beautiful valley just over a ridge from I5. A great place for some serenity with an amazing history and surrounded by wonderful people. one of my favorite spiritual spots
