loved staying here , it was QUIET!! We walked around the lake and had a very wonderful time. You can grill in a wood cooker out door recomend bringing your own Hickory chunks for that. Food taste Awesome smoked.

The previous review by the guest was apparently offended by Christian literature that was offered to our guests along with a Holy Bible which, even as she stated, didn't offend her. Her accusations that I had made comments regarding two of them who were holding hands or their "drunkenness" is ridiculous as we usually only check in with our guests once a day to see if they need anything (as we have been doing for 13 years!) and I didn't see anybody who was drunk. I believe the negative review is simply because they were offended that we offer our guests the Christian literature (free) to anyone who would like it. To be so offended by Christian literature when it simply says the same things as the Holy Bible is pretty incredible but to be so offended to make these accusations, is disappointing. As Christians, we are supposed to share the Gospel message to anyone and everyone and the literature is a simple way to obey God. Just as I did before I knew God, if I observed a Bible in a hotel room and didn't want anything to do with God, I simply ignored It. If they do not want to turn to God, it is their choice. But to get so offended and make false accusations is sad. I do not remember what discussion was had but if somebody asked for clarification from Scripture, I would have answered them the best that I was able and, as a Christian, I am required to. We have been in business for 13 years and our reputation speaks for itself. We have many gay & lesbian guests visit and we love everybody that does.It is disappointing that providing such a negative review appears to be simply a way to attempt to smear our beautiful property. This person obviously did not enjoy herself and we would suggest she find another location for future reference and wish her the best of luck.

We just enjoyed 4 days at this gem of a place where we had the most wonderful, restful, relaxing vacation. Owner Brian was a most gracious and helpful host, promptly resonding to questions and boat supply requests, and stopping by to check on things to ensure everything was going well and to ask if we needed anything. The cottage was not an older, rustic place i had expected, but an immaculate, beautiful, all-pine spacious cabin will all the amenities and supplies you could want for cooking, an abundance of towels, quaint, bear-themed decor; a deck perfectly positioned to always have some shade, a fantastic jacuzzi, a large yard perfect for keeping our large shepherd occuppied with chasing tennis balls, a nice beach area, and an amazing view of the lake and incredible trees/vegetation. Renting a kayak or other boat is a must! ! You get to experience the 'serenity' of the place and the beauty of the property. The water is great - warm on top from the sun and just cool enough a foot below to make for perfect cooling off during the hot days. Not to be missed is a walk around the lake too. Thank you Brian for your hospitality and attention that helped make our visit wonderful!

Bear’s Den was secluded and comfortable, a delight to be in. The back porch overlooking the lake was delightful. The kitchen is exceptionally well supplied.

We were at the Eagle cottage, but that option is not listed. 3 bedroom, nice size cabin, beds work. There is a lake with fish in it. Would've liked to have had marked trails. Near Hatfield, which after being through there looks like a neat town to explore.

$125 charge because our dogs went on the furniture.
He said because he had to wash the blankets and pillowcases (Shouldn’t you be doing that between guests anyways??). He leaves 40 pages of instructions, and nowhere does it say anything about the dogs not being allowed on furniture. We were planning on returning this summer, but now we will find somewhere better. The only DVDs are religious ones, so bring your own. Also some religious literature available if you’d like to be converted on your stay lol. No wifi even those he advertises that he has internet.

10/10 don’t recommend. The wedding party I was in ended up coming into a altercation when he tried charging us for undisclosed/unauthorized charges at 2am. Ended up forcing the party out for a 3 1/2hr drive. Worst Experience I have ever been through when staying somewhere.
