Have been coming here for over a year. The food and drinks (try their specialty whiskies!) Are hands down one of the best places in eagle. If you're on the fence. Jump the fence and head to grit! Spicy Nashville is one of my many go to choices. Burgers are one of the best in boise and definitely eagle.

Last min “Hey let’s try that place as we drove by trying to find a new place to eat. I got the French Dip and my wife got the crispy chicken sandwich.
Both Sandwiches Rocked !!!
The staff was friendly and smiles all around.
We live in East Boise but we will be returning for sure.

Met some friends at this quiet and cozy restaurant for the first time this past Saturday evening. After a brief five minute wait to be seated drinks were promptly served. I also enjoyed the NY strip beef stroganoff with mushrooms. Highly recommended; I will be eating there again soon.

I went in to dine for my first time today, and had a wonderful experience. I originally went in because I saw other users sharing photos on here of their Nashville Hot Chicken; but found that the menu didn’t have it available.

When asked about it, that’s when I heard the story of the restaurant: owner fell on some hard times, decides to sell the place, and kitchen staff walks out and takes all recipes of the old menu with them. The new owners tried to get in contact with precious staff that had the recipes, but was met with silence or resistance.

While I wasn’t able to get what I came in for: the whole menu sounded so appealing; I had a hard time deciding between three sandwiches that I wanted to try. I ended up getting the Crispy Chicken Bacon Ranch sandwich, after our wonderful server recommended it.

After starting off with some Chicken Taquitos, which had excellent flavor and texture, I tried the fries first: which were seasoned well, and had a nice crispy outside, and fluffy inside. They were hands down some of the best fries I’ve had recently. Then I moved onto the sandwich: which was incredible. The chicken patty was breaded and seasoned evenly and crispy, the bacon was additionally crispy and had a great flavor. The ranch sauce on it was a good accompaniment to the sandwich, and tasted homemade. My only regret was not eating the sandwich before my fries; because my bottom bun got soggy from me waiting until my fries were devoured before I decided to take my first bite. That’s my own fault though, so no complaints.

Besides the food: the restaurant has a great atmosphere; and feels both modern yet rustic. If you haven’t had Greek coffee yet, I recommend trying it. I got their Frappe, which has greek coffee in it, and the coffee used was so flavorful that it didn’t need any additional mix ins like you’d expect to have in a frappe if you went to Starbucks.

I plan on returning back to Grit to try more menu items, and to get my fix on that Greek coffee. I hope more people check out this wonderful place.

Grit is our favorite local restaurant. We go regularly, usually at about 4:30 to avoid the crowds. The menu changes seasonally, but we’ve never ordered anything we didn’t love. The clam appetizer makes a great entree - get extra bread to sop up the wonderful sauce!
Service is always friendly and the bar is excellent. For martini aficionados, they always have at least one interesting gin in addition to the usual suspects.

Came with three friends and everyone was more than satisfied with their delicious meals. Service was great, too. We were so happy we didn’t wait in line for a lesser-quality obnoxiously loud distillery across the street. Already craving more steak tacos!

Best fried chicken in Boise by far! Pretty much can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The staff is awesome and friendly. Their beer and wine selection is always great and they have a creative and tasty cocktail menu that changes with the season. Can't say enough great things about this place!

The pizza is excellent, and they have a great hot fried chicken sandwich that is only rivaled by the Grit Dip - and offering salads that are tasty with good ingredients... it is hard to go wrong with anything you order here. The fingerling potatoes are a popular starter - but I will warn you that the clams appetizer comes in a unique PEANUT BUTTER broth that slightly overpowers the dish, you may love them- just be prepared! Service is always top-notch, and the full-service bar offers draft beer, wine and cocktails.

Great Food, great staff, fantastic menu and excellent bar service, Matt always does a great job custom making our drinks. This is for sure one of the top restaurants in town, virtually every menu item is outstanding and well thought through but my top recommendations are the Nashville chicken sandwich, Farro Salad (take a chance), Beef Stroganoff. The hamburgers are made from top quality meats from porterhouse and are the best I have ever had!

Everything I had here was delicious. I can't wait to go back. But if you can only order one thing, get the cauliflower appetizer. It was to die for. It's kind of loud, but it has a fun time and the staff was really nice and helpful ordering.

Funky decor, brew pub like vibe but different. Food was really good. I had the Clams (with Wine Sauce) and they were FABULOUS. Wife had the chicken dinner and said she'd loved it. Hoping they expand!

One of my favorite restaurants in Boise! Food is AMAZING, every time. Prices are a tad steep but it obviously hasn't stopped me from coming back time and time again. Atmosphere is great, staff is always nice. Anytime I have family/friends visiting Boise we take them here

Wow! Talk about exceeding expectations! The four of us all loved our dinners and apps. I could drink the sauce that the clams were served in. The steak and fish tacos were absolutely delicious! Everything was. We are already planning on more dinners there with friends and family.
