Great museum, many exhibits and things to see and do. Kids loved the military ship deck the most. Good value and friendly staff. Admission is good for all day and includes re-entry. Cute little 3d theater as well, plus there is a light boat outside that you can visit. Highly recommend!

I have driven by this place for over 10 years and never visited. Or 2 older kids and my wife visited and spent 2.5 hours there and really enjoyed the displays and exhibits. You even get to visit a lighthouse ship docked behind the museum. Highly recommend to anyone visiting or deiving through. Good place to get some photos also.

Very cool! Has some interesting history and I loved the live wall with the earth's clouds. There's wax sculptures in the museum that are very well done and a lot do cool visuals.

Our family visited this awesome place and stayed way longer than expected because of how interesting, interactive and thorough it is!
The name “museum” just doesn’t sound cool enough for how fascinating this place is. What a great gift shop too!
I only wish I didn’t live many states away so that I could visit it again and spend even more time than we scheduled. Will definitely return again when in Oregon

Interactive museum for all ages. The gift shop has souvenirs from $5 and up. If you’re visiting Astoria with or without children you don’t want to miss this opportunity to learn about our beautiful coastline and the Heroes that keep us safe.

Great place to go with the family. There are lots of interesting things to see and learn about. Really thought the real-time weather screen was cool! And the green screen room where you can act as the weather forecaster was fun. My husband and kids each made their own video on my phone. And the Hurricane machine was fun for my kids too!
The gift shop was nice. There are lots of great things for people of all ages. We missed out on the ship tour cause it was the end of the day, but I'd been on it before when I was younger and I liked it. We'll definitely go again someday!

Impressive place to visit. A couple of hours give you enough time to catch the highlights. A 20-minute movie is shown and is well worth the time spent. Learned so much new information. Greater appreciation for those who lived and continue to live that lifestyle. The time spent to go on the ship Colombia is worth the effort, too. Great place to take the family. Nice little gift shop.

It's worth the trip, very educational, and cool to see the inside of the Columbia ship. There is a $15 entry fee, per adult, for the Museum part, but that also includes a ticket to see the ship.

A fascinating journey through the history of human exploration on the Columbia River and the Pacific Ocean. Tons of artifacts and a cool collection of fishing boats. The Lightship Columbia is a part of the ticket price. You can walk through most of it.

If you are in Astoria or the surrounding area and you are interested in maritime history, please support this lovely museum!

Visited the museum twice in one day. We spent the day in Astoria. Morning visit, then after lunch and a walk about town, stopped in for a second visit. Two good movies to introduce the Pacific Ocean. The indoor exhibits were informative and well laid out. Small boats, brass bell, the bridge of a WW2 Navy destroyer and Coast Guard active rescue display (full size). Don't miss the Columbia River Lightship out at the pier. Self guiding through the interior. The museum is wheelchair accessible, the ship is not. It's not easily accessible if you have difficulty climbing ladders or walking on tilted surfaces.

Outstanding museum of the maritime history of the Columbia River focusing on the amazing activities of the Coast Guard. The self tour of the lighthouse ship Columbia was outstanding. Many good exhibits including a very moving one about the return of artifacts from fallen Japanese soldiers to their families after many years. Highly recommended.

We were a lil skeptical to visit this place but we are happy that we made a decision to visit here. Awesome & informative place. You can easily spend 2-3hrs here. There is so much to do & see. Adults as well as kids above 2yrs will definitely enjoy this place. The ladies at the gift shop were kind & friendly.

Family friendly for sure, I did notice they offer wheel chairs just ask at the lobby. I spent a good 3 hours here, come and go with your admission ticket and this includes a self guided tour of the Columbia ship - highly recommend. It's docked in the river behind the museum. The movie theatre is extra but theres so much to see inside if you skip it.

I have visited the museum in the past, but it was back when it was a recommended donation. It is clear that a lot of money has gone into the experience here and it’s paid off! Although a little spendy, I think that as long as you have a couple of hours to spend and the topic is interesting to you, it is well worth it!

The highlight for us was the Lightship Columbia, which is docked in front of the museum. They recently started giving tours of the engine room, which was previously inaccessible to guests. The tour guide was fantastic and knowledgeable, but also wasn’t afraid to say “I don’t know” instead of making something up. 😄 The explanations made the experience immersive and easy to relate to how these sailors lived in interesting conditions.

So much to see and experience. Went in with a teen and they enjoyed it as well. The displays are creative and engaging, lots of detail. Located on the river with CG Cutters and the Columbia docked for viewing. Greatly recommend for history lovers!

We paid $26 (per person) to enter. This included seeing two 3D movies, per person. We had no wait to enter and bought tickets once we arrived.

The movies lasted 25 minutes, each. The rest of the museum, including the Columbia Lighthouse ship, takes about 2 - 2.5 hours to see - if you do a lot of looking.

Had a great time here. Close to some GREAT seafood restaurants close by, so we took a break party way through it all for lunch.

This place is cool and it shows a nice variety of maritime history. I loved the parts about the canneries and the coast guard.

Our family planned a to visit the museum on our recent trip to Seaside. It was a short drive and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Our son in law recommended it. The age range of our group was 48yrs old to 3 months.
Living in the PNW our entire lives we were very pleased learning more In-depth information about things we were familiar with at the Columbia River Maritime Museum as well as gaining new information about things we had not heard of before. The layout was favorable for accommodating our larger party (10)
All the exhibits were very well displayed featuring signs and plaques containing facts and information on each item or event.
Articulated in well thought out engaging information script. The attention to detail was evident! We will definitely be back and be bringing family and friends we know will appreciate the richness the museum has to offer.

Super fun, i believe 30 per adult I don’t quite remember. But when they explained to me that I got to tour the Columbia boat I believe it was worth it. Super interesting and interactive. Good to go by yourself or with kids

We visited this museum several years ago, and returned last week. There have been many changes (more informational displays including video). The displays of ships over the years include pictures and display of hardware. There's a good gift shop with some local artisan jewelry.

There's an incredible audio recording of local Coast Guard rescue. It's a must stop for sea history.
