Fort Clatsop Visitor Center

We went to walk along the Netul trail. Easy walk for all ages. Beautiful and next to young’s river.

Other things to do there. Like see the Fort. Watch videos. Read about the history which is all fascinating.

However for us it was the walk.

A beautiful visitor center with a lovely bookstore, the trails and historic sites here are fantastic. An absolutely wonderful park.

Very nice, comfortable building with well designed displays and a small "movie" theater that shows two alternating educational films. The gift shop is a decent size with comparable or lower pricing to other similar attractions. It is in the middle of a remodel currently but is open.

Very cool! Learn some of the history of Lewis and Clark's expedition here as well as a replica of how Fort Clatsop once looked. There are some well maintained trails that allow your own exploration of the area. All in all a great experience!

This is a small shop & museum. There was a presentation that made us aware of things we did not know about the Lewis & Clark expedition. This is a beautiful Forrest

Great little glimpse of what life was like during that time. It's a great replica of the fort. The area around the fort is also really beautiful so definitely take your time and walk around the area. If you can do the kayaking or boat ride in the summer I recommend it.

Good job rebuilding years ago, but not quite the same as when I was there as a kid.

For those who enjoy history, this stop is for you. The fort is well kept, and the staff provide great information of the fort, the area, and the way of life when fort was active. The groups around the fort are great to explore and there a many hiking trails that allow you to get out with nature.
If you have young kids, they will love exploring the area and running on the trails. Also remember to get your junior range packet at the visitor center. There are several activities they will need to complete to get their badge.

The Fort has actually been rebuilt three times over the years. The last due to a fire. So it's not the original buildings. It's a quick walk through them, not as much interesting information. But the actual museum part in the Visitor Center was nice. The best part of this place is to walk the trails through the Trees. We were using the National Geographic Seek app to identify various plants throughout the park.

Quite simply the most moving and transcendent park in the PNW! Lewis &Clark's Fort!! OMG, the Corps of Discovery!! America's westward growth into the Great American Unknown!! Wow

Great experience. The guy at the desk inquired about me being a veteran and went on to explain how it's free for vets and up to 3 people to visit any national park or federal historic site. That was nice of him I thought. The museum was informative and had many artifacts to display.
The fort was fun to visit and was a short walk from the information center. Nice parking area too.
Definitely recommend if you are interested in the Lewis and Clark expedition too.

Well worth it! We ended up taking the steep trail and it was aptly named. If your into identifying plants make sure you check out the pressed plants before your walk, that will make it easier to find them. The park rangers we very helpful.

Nearby hikes make a pleasant loop, using netel landing and fort to sea trail. The trail over the ridge was rated as difficult but we hiked it in flip-flops so it wasn't that difficult.

When we visited they were under construction . It was amazing learn about the history of Lewis and Clark . My favorite part was the hiking trails and there were several miles of them . the park is dog friendly .

This was interesting spot to visit. Lots of historical importance. Trail was very maintained. Make sure you pack rain gear or bring umbrella.

Nice employees that answer any questions and the movie theater is a nice way to quickly learn about what you will see on the trails.

So fun to see and do. A must stop forsure.

Must-see stop for the Lewis and Clark trail. We’ll done interpretive center and great reproduction of the fort with period-dressed docents there to answer questions and conduct demonstrations, such as the one on fire started when we visited.

I just have to give this place a little shout out as being totally interesting and worthy of a visit. First, the staff that works here is amazing. They love their location and are so welcoming to share their knowledge of history. While I was there, I was so impressed that they were doing an reenactment of daily life with school children. It represents the best of America when you see this kind of involvement with kids. Thank you to the staff for a wonderful introduction on my first trip to Oregon. The park has all these explanations of the struggles of surviving the journey over winter and preparing for the return.

The staff here were very helpful and friendly, and it was great seeing the costumed performers. The area is kept very clean and the displays are informative.

My only complaint is that parking is limited and it can be quite crowded, even on weekday mornings.
