It might be small and it might be hard to find a day it’s open but boy was this place sure worth the wait!!! I loved every second of the rich history this place has to offer!! That had items from the 1800’s and items leading up to present. You can really learn a lot about the firefighters in Astorias Smokey history. You would be shocked to find out about the fires that have burned this city down. Also one absolutely huge plus is we had the best tour guide anyone could ask for and his name was KEVIN!!! He knew his information, he was funny, he is a firefighter in the area so he could give you a better explanation on everything and personal experiences. We even talked about his paintings in the museum. Truly a great experience at this small museum! Take the hole family and enjoy yourself. I know I did!

Great news! The museum has reopened. You can visit on Saturday between noon and 3pm.
The building is full of interesting equipment and photos. The gentleman running the place will give you a personal tour complete with stories of his own time as an Astoria firefighter! His paintings of several famous Astoria fires are a must see too!
The fire trucks, which are mostly still operational, are very cool. The public fire box system and its description is a fascinating piece of the pre-911 phone emergency response system. The place is packed with the tech and tools of the past. There are several sets of excellent historical photos as well.
Don’t miss this small town fire museum. It is rich in history and full of personality!

Great museum. Go visit if you can. Their hours are scarce because it is staffed by volunteers but well worth making the time for it. It's free, but make sure to donate so they can continue to operate this gem. Also, ignore Yelp. Never use Yelp to base any decisions about local establishments. Rotten reviewers, rotten company.

For children of all ages they can slide down the fire pole hook up hose and aim. Fun. Grandpa was there when we went for our visit. Love the history of our city.

Great place for all ages. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. We learned not only about the history of the area, but also intimate details about how all the various devices and tools have progressed throughout the years. Would recommend to anyone!
