Honestly, it's a pretty boring trail, but if you want an easy hike, it fits the bill. There are hunters out there, so be aware of that. Decent sized parking lot. Lots of random fields off the main trail. I probably wouldn't go hiking at this specific spot again, just because there's not much to look at. I prefer hiking through the woods. But again, for a simple, easy walk, it's great.

I stopped here last week to see if I could bag a gobbler. I'm betting the area was probably cleaned out pretty well on opening day. From the looks of the signs, there are at least a couple of turkey hunting clubs/organizations helping the Game Commission take care of this property. The roads/trails were great, the cleared fields are plentiful.

I think I even found the properties honey hole, based on the perfect terrain and plethora of shotgun litter in one particular spot. But unfortunately, like I said, I believe the area has been pretty well cleaned out. It was the only SGL I have been to this year where I didn't hear a single Tom. Who knows though, it was already light out when I hit the honey hole. I had set up in another great spot the property has to offer before dawn.

You just have to figure, if there are turkey hunting organization volunteers helping take care of the property, they are probably turkey hunters, and wouldn't you head out to a property you help conserve as soon as the season opens to reap the rewards from all your hard work? I know I would!

Or who knows.Maybe being the closest (real) SGL to Philly means there's a whole different level of pressure going on here? I will say though, that it's the only SGL I have been alone at the whole time (empty parking lot and didnt see or hear anyone).
