They never answer the phone but they're great in person

This is the absolute worst. Their customer service sucks they barley answer the phones when you call. They are the example of a greedy company who only cares about money and they will cut your lights off for $20 they claim thy don’t make the rules but the town of Culpeper does. It’s time some changes are made to this outdated system. You are only allowed 1 extension per year there is no compassion or care for the humans that are actually going through hard times. I hope the new mayor and town council can come up with some changes to help the regular working citizens who actually pay their bills but when there is an issue have some kind of help or extension in place. We have no other choice but to use this company because there are no other options for power in my area. The power for this company is sourced from dominion power and they don’t even have such harsh rules as the town of Culpeper utilities company. They give their customers more than 1 extension per year and don’t cut off power for $20.

Missed a couple hours of work to turn in our application. They said my wife has to be there to sign also, or go to a notary. We both work until 5 p.m. I'll have to miss another couple hours and my wife will have to also to get it notarized.

Really rude and unhelpful receptionist. I sent my check out in the mail on 12/23, with my water bill due on 12/28. Even with the holiday, this should have been ample amount of time for the USPS to move a piece of mail literally 2 miles from point a to point b. Apparently it wasn’t, because it kept not coming out of my account. So I call them today to check in, and the lady let’s me know that they would definitely have received it by now, and there is a non negotiable late fee, and she will be more than happy to transfer me to the automated payment system (she can’t take my payment 🙄) which would cost me $3.50 to use (now it makes sense why she “can’t” do it). When I try to reason with her, she states “We can’t control the mail system.” Apparently she also can’t control or tap into her capacity for flexibility and higher level reasoning. (Oh, but if they do receive my other check after I’ve made a new payment, they’ll be happy to cash it and apply it as a credit.)

I’m a reasonable person, I get that maybe there’s a late fee that can’t be budged on, even though it wasn’t my doing. But her tone and lack of empathy really irked me on top of it all. She clearly gets off on her little power trip.

Also, jump into the current century and stop charging your customers ridiculous fees for paying over the phone and online.

Who are we supposed to call. Our service is horrible. Goes out all the time. I call the power number. She’s always away from her desk snd it won’t let you leave a voicemail. Instead of lining the towns pockets, why can’t we go directly to Dominion Va Power.

What’s the point of having a number listed on google if they aren’t going to answer? Unprofessional

Called number listed on web page and it says it’s not being used or taking voicemail.

This is the worst utility company ever.
