Rain Restaurant

This is my favorite restaurant of all time. I live over 6 hours away and in a decent sized city but nothing there compares to this place. I love the ribeye with potatoes and fried spinach and I have never had a bad drink here.

I truly love this Abingdon spot. People from all walks of life come together & enjoy this spot. The food, cocktails & service are beyond awesome. Tonight I thoroughly enjoyed my lobster roll & fancy fries. If you haven't already, check them out, the next thing you know, you'll become a regular.

The food was excellent! I had the salmon and it was seasoned perfectly and the crab topping made it an excellent pairing. They were very busy but our server was attentive and checked on us often. Will definitely return here next time we are in Abingdon.

Is about 3 hours from our home; recommended by friends. Nice atmosphere with nice decor. When we travel we order Oysters Rockefeller and this has been our best; must order. Entrees: Beef stroganoff and Salmon were very pleasing. Wait staff was knowledgeable and pleasant.

Rain is such a great place. Superior food with an ever changing menu. Great service! The bananas foster cheesecake is fantastic!

Fantastic food. We had a steak with mushroom sauce and the special, which was trout with horseradish dipping sauce. It was very clean. Very nice staff. They take reservations!

The food is unbelievably flavorful and delicious. We had the pineapple glazed salmon, crab cakes, stuffed mushrooms and butternut squash soup. Every variation of food was a unique taste that I’ve never tasted before. The dessert was dry and bland in my opinion. The atmosphere could use some work. You go to this restaurant for the food so it doesn’t matter lol

We highly recommend you make reservations especially on weekends. We were greeted so nicely and we sat next to a window. Our server was nice and knowledgeable. Food was excellent. We had three-cheese stuffed mushrooms, salmon rockerfeller, jersey blackened strip steak, and Toscana sausage with sweet potato soup. Very delicious and steak was melt in your mouth. They were very busy on a Friday evening. Seating outside and at bar. Beer prices reasonable (almost half what some nearby restaurants charge). Will go here again when we get the chance.

I stopped here on a road trip because they have outdoor seating AND allows dogs. Everyone on staff is super friendly. The hostess even brought a bowl of water to my table without me asking! I ordered the trout with creamed collards and potatoes- absolutely delicious! Here’s a photo of the half I couldn’t finish.

This place is amazing! The surf and turf special was one of the best meals I've ever had! My husband enjoyed his shrimp and grits as well. Not to mention the BEST oysters rockefeller to start! Drinks were great, service was amazing, very great dining experience!

Altho the restaurant was busy, the service was excellent and the meal arrived within a very reasonable time. The Scottish salmon was the best East Coast salmon I've ever eaten and exemplified the standard of quality all Rain's food. To me, Rain is the best restaurant in Abingdon from every standpoint.

Great food and good service! The place has such a nice ambiance. I loved all the art work! And the food... literally AMAZING from appetizers all the way to dessert! This is the first place that reminds me of a restaurant from home. There was variety in the menu offering different flavors from around the world. Their stuffed mushrooms and the octopus ceviche were the BEST I've ever had! We also ordered the ribeye and filet mignon and they were cooked to perfection! It was my first time trying fried spinach and it was delicious as well; it had such an interesting texture. And the apple pie a la mode was a great way to end our meal! I can't wait to go back, especially once it warms up!

Enjoyed this dinner very much. Service was good, ambiance great, ingredients 👌🏽. We have visited Abingdon several times but never Rain. Cocktail selection made for a hard choice, but I went with the cider. My husband tried something that was served with a purple 💜 tint. Both drinks were excellent. Can't wait to go back.

Came with my family for Thanksgiving. The food was delicious! We had the calamari to start and I had the butternut squash soup and yellowfin tuna as the main course. The service was amazing. I definitely recommend Rain!

Probably the best food I’ve had on my week long business trip. Food was phenomenal, service was great, and facility was cute and clean. The curry soup is a must try, probably the best I’ve ever had!

We are Locals and Rain is our first pick for an amazing dining experience and fabulous service! Emily was our server and she was right on point with her suggestions. She also knew the menu and her attentiveness was superb. Simply outstanding Ribeye dinner for my husband, who hardly ever gets an amazing steak. Cooked to perfection by Chef Ben Carroll, who executes the dish with a lovely sauce and fried spinach. It is one of the rare times my husband was complimentary of a sauce. The squash soup is so lovely and all ingredients complement each other with the freshest taste. Many thanks to Rain management for keeping their prices under control, which has not been the case for other Abingdon restaurants, which we do not frequent now.

Beautiful decor inside and out . we had stuffed mushrooms, shrimp w ravioli and beef stroganoff - all yummy. Butternut squash soup is some of the best ever. The peach and basil mule was on special and delish! Def coming back when we are in the area.

We had an excellent experience for our 12th anniversary dinner! Even though they were completely booked for reservations, we easily found seats at the bar. We enjoyed fabulous service with bartender Kaley! We relished our apps-creamy butternut squash soup & stuffed mushrooms with our craft cocktails and swooned over the shaved roast beef stroganoff! We were completely impressed with Abingdon's Main Street scene & plan to make this our new anniversary ❤ celebration spot!! Cudos to the staff, front & back of house, at Rain on Main!

This was our first trip to Belize and we were exhausted and starving after a long flight. We stumbled into Rain and were seated at a table with a beautiful view overlooking the ocean. Our waiter was Effraim - a professional, polite and attentive waiter. The food was fresh and delicious and the service impeccable. I highly recommend Rain (and partner restaurant Aqua) and encourage you to ask for Effraim. He will make your dining experience a perfect one. We came back several more times during our trip for the service and quality food. Thank you Effraim!
