Porkie’s Original BBQ

Me and my friend stopped at Porkie's while driving through Apopka and man - I can't recommend this BBQ diner more!

I've always meant to try the real American barbecue experience and this place catered to all my desires and then some! We had a jumbo pulled pork sandwich with sides (I got baked beans and collard greens, my friend got mac 'n' cheese and corn) and we enjoyed it so much that we just had to order another half pound of pulled pork to share. Absolutely spot on. A bit of a hidden gem, but if you run across this place, don't make the mistake to skip it.

Fast friendly service. Prices are a little high but worth it. Drive thru and outside seating. Closed on Mondays. Excellent ribs. Excellent pulled pork. Chicken a little dry but tasty. My sides of choice... greens, yummy! Mac and cheese, cheesy! Baked beans, delicious! Dirty potatoes, tasty! Garlic toast a little smoky/charred for my taste but all in all, great bar~b~que place.

2 adults and two children had dinner for under $50 with a tip. I got the Sloppy Cow (pictured), brisket over garlic toast with sautéed onions and horseradish sauce, collards and Brunswick stew on the side. Everything tasted excellent and the portions were generous.

I haven't been to Porkie's in a long time, not because it isn't good but because I don't venture to that side of town much. But, today we were and I knew exactly where I wanted lunch from. It was exactly like I remembered it, delicious! The staff was super friendly and made good suggestions. I don't know when I'll get over there again but I'll gladly go back.

So I wanted to update my review on Porkys!!! 2/03/2022…. EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT ribs in Apopka. They Blow Sonnys and Bubbalous away !!! Nice meaty HUGE ribs , great sauce , smoke ring on point , dry rub seasoning is fantastic !!! Dirty taters are like your Grandmas home fries .. very good . Green beans with bacon are very tasty .. Potato salad ehhh is STILL just average. But if you’re in town try this place. Do yourself a favor and pass right by Sonnys and Bubbalous and go to Porkys!!! Bubbalous is CLOSED so there’s no reason to go to Sonny’s .. Check this place out you won’t be sorry !!!

After finishing a 27 mile ride around parts of Lake Apopka, I was in need of a refueling. Porkie’s hit the spot. Brisket, ribs, pork, chicken, they have it all. Being famished, I grabbed the pulled pork sandwich, with baked beans and potato salad. Each was tasty and served quick. If you like sauces, they Have a tray of six to choose from (I liked the Troubles Gold). After reading the reviews I will be back for the brisket, and ribs. If you are a BBQ fan, certainly stop here when in the area.

Always great BBQ at Porkie's. Sad to see the Hump Day Special go but the jumbo pork sandwich, two sides, and a drink for $12.95 is still worth it. Fast and friendly service as usual. Glad to see they've survived the last two years.

Great barbecue! Very friendly staff and clean facility. The front staff remembered names of many of the people eating there and the owner came out and checked on everyone. The food itself was very tasty. My brisket sandwich had a good smokey flavor which was complimented very well by their XXX spicy bbq sauce! I also tries their baked beans (fantastic!) and their corn bread (sweet and delicious!). My buddies got their pork on garlic toast, which they said tasted great also!

My wife and I were finally able to eat here and we were blown away. She had the brisket sandwich with dirty taters. I had the rib tips and Brunswick stew (best I have ever had).We both shared some delicious southern banana pudding to cap it off.

One word, YUMMY! This is great smoked BBQ. The restaurant isn't in the best part of town but the food makes up for it by a long shot. I eat BBQ all over the country and this is one of my top 5 favorites. Great smoky taste and the meat isnt to fatty.

Some of the BEST BBQ in ALL of Orlando!!! Don't miss the Monster Ribeye Sandwich, Brisket, Sliced Pork & Garlic Bread!!! Homemade Sauces too!!!

Absolutely awesome barbecue and a nice setting for lunch outside. A very nice selection of sauces and portions that fill a belly but doesn’t leave one stuffed.

Steve is a Terrific Owner, who always trying 2 help Non-Profits and 1st Responders. He also tries 2 help candidates who are running for office in the City of Apopka with a Platform at his Restaurant. He is always trying to help people who have a Medical Emergency with Fundraisers. A few years ago my Cousins daughter had an accident and Steve hosted a Fundraiser for her, I truthfully can't count how many times he has done that, also on Thursday night he has Bike Night, where they pick the Best Bike and Runner-Ups, it's a great time. Also the food they serve is always Great, so what are waiting for, go try Porkies Original BBQ you won't 4 get it.
