Zen West

We haven't been to Zen West in ages! But, we had a great experience overall on a recent visit. We arrived on a Friday evening and were lucky to be seated at a table right away. I don't think I ever saw anyone having to wait for a table that night. We ordered a couple of margs, an app and entrees. The app was the only disappointment/unusual thing. I have never seen nachos presented this way at a restaurant. While very tasty, they looked like what I made as a teen in the oven at my parent's house. Odd. But tasty.
The drinks were good, and had a decent pour. I got the spicy margarita and it lived up to its name! My kiddo got the crab and shrimp quesadilla, which was very good. My hubs got the Ahi Tuna Tacos which he said were very good and I got the Carnitas Burrito, also very good! Maybe the sides could have been a bit larger, it was a small amount of rice and a lot of lettuce.
I am sure we will be back!

Food was tasty as hell and came out fast. Great margs great happy hour and Charlie was so nice and hospitable. Love the tunes. Will be back.

What an awesome experience. The atmosphere was perfect the food looked phenomenal I want to go back to try some wings they looked mouth watering, Chard perfectly, plated and glazed to sticky heaven! I was there for a concert which also didn't let me down I HIGHLY RECOMMEND This BEAUTIFUL Establishment. The building is well preserved and full of nostalgia! Owner is one amazing person! Thank you for the experience last night!!! 🙏🏼

If your ever looking for some amazing grilled wings look no further. These were the best grilled wings I ever had. I also had the nachos and guacamole which was very flavorful. The beer was cold and good. The service was great as well. I already have plans to bring a group of family here to experience what I already have. This place is worth every penny. Fantastic food Carnitas were scrumptious. The flavor of everything on the dish held its own no overlaying sauces or such. The meat was tender and the flavor was deep through and through. The beans held a smoky flavor that kept you coming back for more. Highly recommend this place Zen West.
Oh the margarita was slamming great.

This local speakeasy has quickly moved its way to the top of my list.

I love the ease of parking, safe neighborhood, and spacious speakeasy space.

Always great service by bar manager Charlie, fantastic food and beverage menu and options.

My favs so far are the grilled wings and chicken tortilla soup.

The drinks are pretty awesome, and Charlie the Great can alter beverages to your preference if you prefer.
This is an overall mezcal bar, but they have other libations as well.
My fav is John Updike's Old Fashioned. My son ordered and loved the Strawberry Gin & Tonic.

This establishment is a great conversation starter, and I look forward to returning asap.

My first time here..I ordered veggie nachos with a side of guacamole and tried the cran cider beer. I will return and try the nachos with rockfish or maybe the veggie nachos 😋

Fantastic place! From the atmosphere, to the amazing food and great live music. It gets pretty packed here. Definitely worth checking it out if you havent already.

Great local venue with an excellent Mexican restaurant attached. Charlie in the speakeasy makes the best old fashioned in the world.

Came in to watch A Sound of Thunder. The entire building is really cool. There's the restaurant, stage and speak easy currently. We had some fantastic drinks, fun and tasty food.

Although they've been understaffed, my service here a few nights ago was still awesome! Our hostess was very sweet, and she got our order out to us in a timely fashion...plus the seafood quesadilla is sooo good!

Wonderful atmosphere! Great menu, Large portions, they have a restaurant n bar on one side and they have live music. I really enjoyed my time there!

Went to see my son's band, really a great atmosphere loved the bands.

The food and the service are top- notch. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. 👍🏽

They seem to know what the crowd likes here, it's ever expanding and improving. Need some help at the new tequila bar...the pours and mix were waaaay different from each other's drinks that were supposedly the same

If you’re looking for good Tex Mex than look no further! Highly recommend the chicken nachos, tacos, taco salad and honestly the best wings in town. The grilled wings are delicious and will blow you away! Wash it all down with a freshly made margarita or a draft beer!

Zen west is is amazing. the staff is always nice. the nachos are to die for. I recently ordered a burger and again was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. im a chef so im a picky eater.

now the shows Zen West puts on. some of the best live music can be found at zen west. Great sound in a intimate setting. seriously if you haven't been to a show or had the nachos at zen west you are truly in for a great experience when you do.

First visit, amazing, especially the "speakeasy".
Will definitely be back frequently
