Went in and everyone was so nice and helpful. Robert Babot was understanding, nice, and heard me out and quickly solved the issue. Sometimes people really make you work and it’s nice to see people who want to do good!

Put a threat to tow if my car is on campus again a couple days ago... I called and found out I had months of tickets I’d never physically gotten or been told about at all. They said it was because the car wasn’t linked to me, which makes no sense it’s on my account ... and if it isn’t linked to me how did you know it’s my car? Then changed it to that my pass was residential but I’ve gotten the same pass over and over for a full year and parked in the same spot and didn’t have any issues until this semester. Instead of giving me the first ticket and letting me figure out what went wrong they instead waited to ticket me multiple times and then THREATENED me to tell me I had citations. Now I am supposed to cough up 100 bucks to physically go to class during a PANDEMIC because I have no other way to get there. Disgusting and slimey.
(Edit: it was resolved after literally hours of phone calls. But I will up my star for it even getting fixed.)

Luckily I get the help that I need, but some of the employees give the aura that they don't want to help at all. Sometimes it can sound a little condescending and even rushed if a student is on the phone, almost like it's an inconvenience for them. As far as customer service goes, there needs to be some work.

I have had MANY issues with them, including like getting a ticket for driving to class bc of my getting bike stolen they DAY OF and was denied the appeal and basically stated sorry, not our problem, but this time I went to take an exam at the SARC center and had not known where to park. I asked the employees at the SARC center and they said they didn’t know, I got a ticket and after I appealed it stating all of that and asking where to park instead and I was simply just given a denied appeal (yet again). I went in to talk to the office to see what I should do, and they practically said SOL. I am SO done with this place! The university already makes so much money, why does parking cost SO MUCH for tickets, permits, etc.??? SCAM.

Just want to first say that I understand the parking department has a job to do and that they must enforce parking code. What I do not understand is why they made the parking spots behind Landry dining hall from 30 minute spots to PAID SPOTS. THAT IS AN ABSOLUTE SCAM. I have to pay for a parking spot for me to run to the bookstore to get a scantron????? That takes 5 minutes max. I'm not paying that citation. That's ludicrous. CHANGE YOUR POLICY.

This is a total scam and disgrace. You can’t park anywhere as a student to go anywhere without getting a ticket of $35 or more. You would think spying thousands of dollars for Tuition, transportation, etc would be enough. Nope that’s not the case. Definitely need to change the parking rules and allow students to park in areas such as conference centers to park in these areas for reasonable use. Absolutely sad.

So apparently GA Southern parking and transportation doesn’t get enough money through their exorbitant parking fees or their regular ticketing measures if you park and leave your vehicle where they deem you shouldn’t park. They now feel the need to simply ticket you for being in a car anywhere on campus. In fact even if you stop your car to not violate GA’s hands free laws, they still decide to ticket you. Even if you try to appeal the ticket and provide proof that you are not parked and simply stopped, they respond rudely to emails (see below). Due to this it is apparent that despite GA Southern’s expansion, their programs are not properly funded. This leads to the need of GA Southern’s parking and transportation to give unfounded tickets to staff, visitors, and students. I am personally severely disappointed with the way this situation was handled by parking and transportation staff but I am even more disappointed that this is obviously caused by a greater issue.

If I could give zero stars I would. Possibly the worst facilities run by the school. I was given a ticket because my mother was parked in a completely empty parking lot the weekend she moved me in. The parking people said the reason the ticket was an extra $10 and not the original cost of a parking ticket was due to the fact that they had to go out of their way to pay the DMV money to find who the car belonged to and since she is my emergency contact, they placed MY account on hold. Meaning I wouldn't be allowed to graduate or get my diploma without paying the ticket. This school is a joke and parking is just another scam to get more money from students. The professors do care about the student's, but don't think for a second the university as a whole does.

I dislike how commuter students (those forced to drive to campus) are charged a very high fee for parking and also are forced to pay the "transit" fee (that most commuters don't use). I also think the parking office should allow for more exceptions in certain circumstances. However, I know they are doing their best with limited resources - and they've always been quick to respond to my queries and acted with great professionalism. The 1 star rating is for the system, not for the staff.

I have four years’ worth of negative experiences with this department. Whether you have a question or an issue, good luck trying to get them to look at you past their computer sign without sighing heavily. Students are constantly met with an attitude and are patronized by these employees. There have been several times I was ticketed with no wrongdoing, like parking in a 30 minute parking and being ticketed for being in Faculty and Staff. Even with timestamped pictures, I was directed to an online forum where you can ‘attempt’ to dispute your ticket. With presenting evidence, my claim was denied, my ticket price went up, and no one would respond to emails thereafter. Absolutely disgusting trying to get an employee of parking services to even treat you like a human being. Please Georgia Southern, get some better representation and do better.

I like how during orientation they stated that you don't need a parking permit if your a student because they can scan the license plate to see if the vehicle belongs to a student but apparently this isn't the case.

Update: The customer service here SUCKS. Got booted and tried to call before they closed (since I payed off all of my tickets) and the people there intentionally didn't pick up the phone. They're lazy. Period. Ima a female and mind you it gets dark out early this time of year. I called over 4 times and nothing.

I have been at Georgia Southern for four years and while I love many aspects of this university, the parking department is NOT one of them. I think it’s ridiculous as much parking as this school has they charge $160 for a parking pass at the RAC. Not only that but if you have any questions about where to park for certain events the staff is extremely rude in that front office. You would think they would want to help considering they are so serious about parking tickets, but instead they are extremely condescending. Also once I wanted to ask them a question about parking during the weekends and before I could even get out of my car, the parking “patrol” gave me a ticket in the 30 minute parking!

Very dismissive staff before you can even attempt to explain yourself for the ticket. Even when there’s a miscommunication and you weren’t breaking the rules they treat you as if it’s your fault anyways. Also, very inconsistent in upholding the rules. Some people never get tickets or do something for months before given a ticket even if they’ve been parked in the same spot. If people are checking everyday then how does someone skip by for months before issued a ticket? It feels as though parking picks and chooses when to give tickets. My main issue is still the inside staff that treats everyone rudely and that doesn’t have the GATA spirit to me.
