Ole's Southside Tavern

I had not been in this place until recently (event though ive been in the area for many years).

Its become my favorite spot in town. Joanne is the best.

Absolutely love this place.

The bartender hates the customers if they ask for anything other than rail drinks or beers. But honestly, that is part of the charm. I've been coming here for 20+ years & she's always been there. & her consistency is excellent. The drinks are reasonably priced & tasty.
This is definitely a townie bar. If you like that vibe you will 100% enjoy your time here.

My late husband I would go to Ole's for karaoke on Thursday nights. He never did karaoke till he met me. He became a karaoke junkie after I introduced him to the fun of karaoke. May he rest in peace and fly high with his eagles! You will be miss by many but not forgotten!

Comfortable and townie! If you want to be relaxed and have a quiet place to unwind this is it. Also game day is a blast!

My feelings is, the best bar that I go to in Altoona! The owner is a terrific guy, and bartenders are great!

Love this place a little hide out from town ...a small menu of bar food ...but they have karaoke a few times a week! Fun place to go ..great people !

Great time with a safe place and fun with Ronzi the bartender and Rich Berg with kareoke!! Just a nice casual night with friends in a good safe social distancing environment!! Tyler, Edwardo, Katrina, Debbie, and myself!!

I’m from minnesota I went here with my cousins and had a great time. Great music wierd people but a good place to drink at!

Nice bar nice people. Pool table inside and they have a very nice large back yard closed in by a 6 foot fence. A screened in patio too for smokers.

Clean (even bathroom), but divey enough to be comfortable. Resonable prices, but not as cheap as some. Cute bartender who makes cocktails, and doesn't need a recipe book

Open early for those late shift people! A relaxing atmosphere and quality service!

Comfortable and clean bar with great ambiance and a nice smoking area out back. Owner has a heart of gold and is often there chatting with the customers and buying rounds.

Ole is the best bartender-happens to be the owner also, convenient to get to, ive had great times there and go out of my way to see ole and his friendly patrons

Good place to unwind and grab a drink. Nothing fancy but they serve great drinks and have good service.
