Hangar 54 Grill

Even though we didn't get to see any planes take off or land as we sat with a view of the tarmac, this place sure offered the best views as we did the Curd Crawl. The airport itself is quite small, but this restaurant had a decent number of folks stopping in on a rainy Saturday. Service was great, as was the food! We ordered cheese curds (of course) along with the sausage sampler, because we needed some meat to offset the incredible amounts of cheese we were ingesting that day. The cheese curds had great texture and squeak, while the meats were all quite tasty, the bread fresh and heated by the grill. I can see why this restaurant would be a good destination even for people who weren't using the airport.

What a highlight to our time in Eau Claire! I sure hope many will visit this fun, aviation themed restaurant. We both had bluegill sandwiches accompanied by some of the most delicious fries ever! The service was attentive and friendly. As native Ohioans, we were unknowingly seated at a Wright Brothers themed table! Keep up the great work

Went for the Saturday Prime Rib special, and it was terrific! Perfectly cooked, tender, and juicy. Sweet potato fries were delicious as well. My soda never went half empty before being refilled.

Prepare to wait if you get there around 5/530pm for dinner. They're well worth the wait though. Great food, excellent service. Lisa was our server and she was hilarious, joked with us and brought our food out as soon as it was ready.
My husband loves their wings. I enjoyed my perfectly cooked medium rare steak, garlic buttered shrimp, bmmashed baby reds and veggies. Everyone was working their butts off the entire time we were there!

The food and the atmosphere is absolutely amazing. I had the French onion soup, which was very good, we also had poutine which was very tasty, and we shared the pulled pork on chips. All of the food was very good. Service was excellent as well. Very clean. Prices are reasonable portions are sizable. What’s not to like? Give it a try if you’re in the area or waiting for a flight.

What a great little find at the local airport. Ryan and Jasmine were extremely kind and the service was quick. Jasmine runs a tight ship and the staff was amazing.
The drinks were made to perfection… and the day our organization was there, they were launching a new bar inside the terminal.

This place is a great hang out and one of the best bars in town.

Our new favorite restaurant! The steak was cooked to perfection and seasoned just right. Not too salty. Spicy pasta and butter garlic bread was amazing!!!!

Great place! We have been there for birthday dinners and tonight, just bloody's at the bar. Absolute great service and food each time. Tonight, the bartender, Sara, was great! Spot on and right there with all of the customers needs. When we left and turned around, the restaurant was packed with people waiting in the hall to be seated. Popular and great place!! We had fun there tonight 😀

Beer burger was amazing, fries we fricken awesome and the wife loved the chicken Alfredo. Great spot for date night and for the true wisconsinite, they do have pull tabs also!!

Lived in area for over ten years, never been here. Now that I'm moving I'll miss it. Food was hot, and very good portions. The poutine was delicious. Wife's bloody Mary was amazing, as well as our main course.

My wife and I had a great experience here. Our food was great. The spinach dip was amazing as where the chips for it. And the carrot cake was some of the best we have had.

The prices where better then I thought they would be too! Still not the cheapest place to eat, but competitively price at least for what we got. We will gladly return here.

Nice variety of dinner choices;
Italian and Mexican meals were both quite good. Server was competent and attentive. Hanger 54 Amber, thumbs up. The atmosphere would be great if there were more flights using the airport.

The fish fry tonight was absolutely amazing. Hangar 54 has always been in my top two favorites for Friday Fish Fry, but tonight was next level. (The mac-n-cheese was stellar, also.)

Service is great manager Ryan is so polite and the portobello fries are awesome!!!

Burgers and Flights

My readers know that when I find something fun, great or simply fantastic, I can’t wait to share it with them. Well that’s how I feel about Hanger 54 Grill. Located at the Chippewa Valley Regional Airport, this bar and grill has history.
At the entrance and at the back of the bar you’ll notice airplane propellers. They’re the real deal, a donation from some local aviation enthusiasts. The restaurants décor is that of flight with a story behind it. On the booth tables you’ll find historical news print from Pearl Harbor, Amelia Earhart, the Bermuda Triangle and the Wright Brothers. The clocks on display along the back-wall feature nine different time zones.
Even the name itself, Hanger 54 is a part of history. It comes from the actual hanger by the same name in Oahu, HI at Pearl Harbor. It is part of two hangers that survived the attack on December 7, 1941.
The menu offers an extensive variety; seafood, ribs, pasta, soups, sandwiches, burgers and wings to name a few. They serve wine, spirits, cocktails, beer on tap and bottles.
I decided to break from my comfort zone and try the Bleucy Lucy; a fresh ground steer burger, chargrilled, stuffed with blue cheese and bacon crumbles topped with bleu cheese sauce.
The minute I cut into the burger, juice spilled out, while the inside revealed tender meat throughout as the bleu cheese sauce oozed over the burger. The flavor wasn’t overwhelming, adding the right balance to the meat. Crispy fries come with the meal.
I even tried the carrot cake; three, moist layers of cake with alternating icing between each layer, chocked full of carrots and nuts. The serving size was enough to share with another person; my invisible boyfriend.
Finally, customer service is top priority here and it shows. In this day and age, it’s a rarity. Ryan, whom I found out later is one of the owners, checked on me throughout my meal making sure that I had everything I needed to make my visit a pleasant one.
Overall: If I lived near the area, I would surely become a regular. If you’re ever in town, Hanger 54 is one not to miss.

Amazing experience from the time we entered the facility until we exited. The staff was beyond friendly/helpful. The food was spectacular especially the french onion soup and the carrot cake for dessert. I will definitely go back.

The food was great! I was a little skeptical to eat at a restaurant at the airport but found it a unique experience and reasonably priced. The carrot cake was exceptional. Ben our server was excellent! Would eat here again!!
