Hoss's BBQ

Visited for the first time last night and we were very impressed! Our server did a great job and the food was very good. I had the pulled pork and added a little of their sauce to it which was REALLY good! The other two on my group had brisket which they both raved about! The potato salad is on point and their mac and cheese side is almost a meal by itself! We came in about an hour and a half before close and never felt rushed out the door which we really appreciated. We also had the armadillo bites and those were EXCELLENT! Super crispy bacon with jalapeño, cream cheese and brisket- yum! I would definitely recommend this place!

Holy COW!! We drove in from San Antonio, to try this place, and it was NOT A DISAPPOINTMENT!! The staff is amazing, as are the owners!!!

If you’re in GW, you HAVE to try them out, they will absolutely NOT disappoint.

Be prepaid for a great smell, before you ever sit down or enter the building. The staff is friendly and cordial as soon as the door opens.

This was our second visit to this hidden gem. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon about supper time (6pm)

Here is what to expect: a wonderful small town family BBQ spot located in a very ferocious food market. If the food is not amazing here the the surrounding areas will eat them alive.

So this visit, was again a very filling and a tasteful meal.

For drinks we both had Arnold Palmer

For the appetizers this time we had the pickles and mushrooms. Last time we had the armadillo bites and kicken bites. All were above average by far and easily a meal size portion.

For the entrées this time I again had the 3 meat. I have tried the brisket, ribs, pulled pork, sausage. Please see the menu of additional options. Even though I got the last of the brisket this time, it was still very flavorful and moist. It was not as visually appealing this time as it was the last but was still great taste and good smoked flavor. The ribs fall off the bone and are so good.
My wife had the 3 meat as well this round with the ribs, pulled pork and sausage. The sausage was a little greasy this time but still delicious.

Our sides were kept traditional with, cole slaw, potato salad, macaroni and cheese. And my wife added a small potato.

Additionally I ordered French fries and potato salad this time but they got left off.

The owner/ wife was filling in as the waitress and spoke a little with us but she was very busy. So we didn't want to keep her.

The standouts of this spot. The traditional molasses based bbq is a nice addition and add just the right amount of sweet to the smokey.

However: they offer something you don't often find in texas bbq. They have a Carolina mustard based (vinegar) bbq sauce that brough back memories of my time in the Carolinas. If you have not tried it. 10 out of 10, I highly recommend it.

The cost of the meal was very comparable to the amount and quality of food. Dinner for 2 with appetizers should be found under $75 after tip.
