I could spend days there without seeing everything they have. The people there are very knowledgeable about the animals as well as the environment. I learned so much while just walking with one of the workers there.
I will be returning for the night time lights during the Christmas season beginning the day after Thanksgiving. I can hardly wait, this looks like it will be spectacular.
By the way, I was using an electronic scooter 🛵 and I had no trouble navigating the trails and sidewalks throughout the whole park.
All and all, it was a spectacular visit.

We really enjoyed our visit! The animals are well cared for and active. The river otters can entertain you all day!

We work with wildlife and reptiles and this had been the greatest adventure finding. We just bought annual passes so we could watch these beautiful guys grow. They are all in immaculate care and have such amazing enclosures. Nature surrounds you everywhere. We will be visiting quite often. The staff wandering the paths make you feel welcomed and talk about what ever you need, and have such beautiful smiles! Highly encourage you to venture over and support a wonderful place!

The zoo was nice. Not a lot of animals but the tour that we joined was nice. Jim the tour guy did a nice job. The tour was about 45 minutes. You could walk the zoo yourself but the tour was free so why not.

Such a lovely part of the Brookgreen Gardens! Otters are my favorite and they were so playful and fun to watch! We also could pet the goats and they were so sweet!

Me and my family always love visiting the zoo when we visit. It's a peaceful and beautiful place to walk and admire the animals. Can you see the lizard hiding in the woods?

I am an animal lover, and so is my daughter. We enjoyed seeing the animals interact with each other. Their environment was very well kept and clean. The staff spent a lot of time with the animals there.
A mama goat gave birth to triple that morning we visited.

Loved it! Please go here if you want to see animals in/near Myrtle and Murrells as this is an ethical place for animals, unlike Myrtle Beach Safari, TIGERS, Alligator Adventure, etc (most animal exhibits around honestly). Lowcountry Zoo is American Zoological Association certified which is proof of its excellence in animal treatment. Other than it’s certifications, this place was just generally fun and cool. I especially loved the foxes, birds and otter! Every weekend, they have a “meet the animals” program at 2:30 (this time we got to meet a friendly snake and touch its tail). Sometimes at 1pm you can be there for an animal feeding. Give it a visit!

Our family of 4 went today and spent a little over 3 hours here. We mainly came for the zoo. This place is way more than a zoo, there’s a pretty large play area with a castle for kids, a row of mini sensory gardens for kids, there’s a cafe in here somewhere. The animals look well taken care of and the otters were the highlight of my daughters day. This was a rice plantation and the trails have statues, and little educational audio stories along the walk. I really appreciated the fact that they didn’t erase the history behind the plantation. I couldn’t imagine working those rice fields in the summer heat.
If you’d like to do the boat ride it’s extra but it looks worth it. Our tickets $50 for general admission and we can keep using them as often as we want for 7 days!! We will definitely be back to do a walk through the gardens next time. I don’t know why we haven’t been sooner but this place is great.

It is located at Greenbrook Gardens. What a glorious day. You'll get lost in time. There's so much to see. Sculputes. Walking trails. The zoo. There are excursions you can add to your experience for a fee. We took the boat tour. It was very nice.

The zoo at Brookgreen Gardens was wonderful. The zoo is clean and the animals seem to be well taken care of. There is also a butterfly enclosure. Great area to spend some quite time.

This is a cool little spot to visit. The butterfly 🦋 experience was unfortunately closed when we got there (it closes at 2pm daily) but the rest of the zoo was very interesting!

Always a beautiful little zoo to take a walk around. Showcases different species native to the area and they are adding a new wolf exhibit soon!

I went here as part of a trip to brookgreen gardens, and was really happy with the experience. They say it's a zoo, but it feels much less planned. We never saw any of the keepers except at the very beginning with the horse. We actually didn't really see any other people at all on a Sunday morning, which was ideal. I loved seeing the otters and the aviary walkthrough was awesome.

The Lowcountry Zoo was a fun experience! We weren’t sure what to expect, and didn’t even know there was a zoo at Brookgreen Gardens until we arrived. The area is very beautiful and serene. The signage in front of habitats is informative and educational. From birds, ducks, otters and foxes, to white-tailed deer and honey bees, there is a lot to see and learn! The area was clean and well-cared for. I would love to visit again if I return to the area.

A bird watchers paradise! Amazing to see animals in their natural habitat. It’s great that the zoo is included in your admission to the gardens. It’s a two for one deal you don’t want to pass up. A beautiful walk on well manicured paths through multiple natural animal habitats. Highly recommended!
