First time to this book cafe and totally love it!! We got a cup of rosemary brown sugar cappuccino. It has a very unique taste and it's very creative to add spices in coffee! The cafe is very spacious and it has books and couches for you to read and relax. People here are respectful and no one is talking loudly to disturb the peace!

Excellent coffees, nice staff, cozy bookstore and low-key welcoming vibe; love walking here mornings when visiting. Mocha latte is my fave. Muffins and cookies are available food items.

First time visiting - nice staff and great cofffee options! They also have vegan Indian pastries for purchase.

Parking isn’t super obvious — you can park anywhere on the street or in the lot on Driver St that has all the food trucks. Street parking on Driver St is easier to find on the side with the big church (across the intersection, diagonally, from the Rofhiwa book cafe).

I can’t to come back and explore their book selection and try other drinks.

This place was really nice on the inside. Super chill and beautiful place. They had a nice selection of black authors. We ended up sitting out back which was nice and there’s a cool mural out there. It was crowded when we went so there was no space inside but that’s to be expected. The coffee was a little expensive but overall a place worth visiting.

This was my first time at a book cafe. The vibe here was so chill, great atmosphere and a relaxing experience. The cappuccino was phenomenal, we added rosemary brown sugar and caramel. The other cappuccino was hazelnut and caramel. They have tea and beer selection. I recommend the honey beer. The hibiscus drink was refreshing and sweet but not too sweet. Some of the black authors are locals so I thought that was pretty cool. Excellent experience, highly recommend if your in the area!!

Beautiful black-owned bookstore in the iconic Old East Durham area! Amazing art (that’s for sale), wonderful coffees/tea selection, carefully curated books, and an unforgettable vibe in the space. Definitely worth the time…

Beautiful Black Owned Book Cafe!
One of the best coffees you can get, but they also serve tea and beer here as well as provide blankets for you to cozy up with a book with.

And the coffee, it’s delicious, simple and always the PERFECT temperature. Most of the times you get coffee, it’s too hot to immediately enjoy. Not here. Just an amazing place with great character, content and culture with a warm vibe. Also they offer baked goods and hot chocolate for kids!

The ambiance of this place is so mellow and the staff equally as inviting. The coffee and pastries are delicious! Wide selection of adult and kid friendly books by black authors and I love that they promote other local black-owned companies.
Can't wait to go back! 10/10 recommend for a chill time.

I just came from a concert here. This was my first time at Rofhiwa Book Café and I am so happy that I was introduced to it. Not only do they have the best IPA that I’ve ever had & amazing coffees, but the vibe is so comfortable and relaxed. They offer shelves full of amazing books and the owners are really incredible! I highly recommend! Hidden gem ~ check them out in East Durham

Fabulous chill vibe. Great place to reflect, write, read, and drink coffee. And if you need a book, they have those too! The owner, Bev, also owns a chill bar... which I haven't checked out, but I must definitely will now.

Black owned business with immaculate vibes. Coffee is great, and the books are even better. Literally in my contender for top cafe in the triangle.

The staff are so friendly and they know customers by name, so welcoming!

Our first time stopping inside to explore the Rofhiwa Book Cafe.
Very nice and cozy decor with a wonderful selection of African literature to delight all ages.
We purchased Black Boy Joy to add to our Great nephews' book collection. We're very excited to visit with Bev again during the New Year to take a closer look at the new material while we enjoy a wonderful cup of hot cocoa!!

Finally got the chance to stop by and see this café. Lovely atmosphere, plenty of good books to look over and a very smooth latte. Love having another coffee option in Durham. ❤

Also has several gyms and a semi-close stop for Pokémon Go users.

This was the best hidden gem in NC. What a beautiful black owned book store cafe. There are books for everyone of all ages and backgrounds. I enjoyed every moment in this store. They even have a website to order from. I cannot wait to visit again later this year.

I love supporting local and black-owned book store. I love the vibe and the artwork they have in the cafe and bookshop. I love the children's book shelf. The owner is so friendly and down to earth. They are so accommodating. They do have outdoor seating to enjoy your book and a nice cup of coffee and or tea (hot or iced)
