Plank Road Steak House

My wife and I had our first date here on Valentine’s Day in 2016. We live in Charlotte now but we’ve been looking for a reason to go back, it was a wonderful experience all around. Epic salad bar. Mashed potatoes were really good as well.

Wife and I made our first visit here this past weekend.01/14/22
We did not have a reservation but we were able to be seated immediately at a bar height table in the bar area, which was fine for us.
Our waitress, Theresa, was very helpful and attentive. Our food come out quickly. I had the BBQ Pork Chop which was cooked perfectly to order and was so juicy and tender. Very good.
Wife had a burger that she said was wonderful.
Appetizer was potato skins which were good. Drinks were well made also. We ordered a Chocolate Confusion dessert to go. We had it later on and it was fantastic and not too rich.
Thanks to Theresa and the rest of the staff for making our first visit a great experience.

This place is awesome..... and I'm hard to please...
I rarely eat out and I'm almost always disappointed because the food is almost never as good as i fix at home.
This place, though, is amazing. I'd go back again. Most of my meal was a 10, several items were am 8 but it was all very good.
Btw, i only tried it because I'm a trucker and got stuck in this town for the weekend.

It is fine dining with southern love and charm! Staff is amazing all around, food is INCREDIBLE, and live music on weekends! If you have not been, make a reservation now!

Plank road steak house did NOT disappoint!!
I was told about plank road steak house (PRSH) back during the Covid shutdown; it was expressed how delicious the food was and the owner strived to always have the best.
Being back in FarmVille with everything back open we decided to try plank road steak house for ourselves.
We were able to walk to the restaurant from the house we were staying at 0.3 miles away.
The walk through the quaint town of FarmVille is most enjoyable as the town is beautiful.
Upon arriving to the restaurant the aroma that met us blocks away had our mouths watering with anticipation.
We were greeted at the front entrance by two very friendly hostess (asked if we had reservations “no”) however there was no wait and our table was located in the back closer to the bar.
Our waitress was prompt an immediately took our drink order.
I first tried the fuzzy navel an ole favorite of mine. The drink was smooth and flavorful it was easy on the stomach. The next drink was surprise and I remember the name moonlight, it came out in a martini glass and was tasty.

Our orders were as follows;
Starters:
Potato skins

Main entree:
Grilled Salmon with herb butter
Steamed green beans and asparagus

Sirloin steak (medium)
Asparagus and steamed broccoli

We both were very impressed with each meal.
The steak was super tender full of flavor and unbelievable taste.
The grilled salmon was also full of flavor and super tasty. The vegetables were cooked well and we had no complaints.

The service was friendly prompt and attentive.

We give it two thumbs up 👍
We will definitely be going back.

What an unexpected little pleasure!!! I had their ribeye steak and their quality/delivery could rival any of the big city steak houses. Awesome atmosphere, quaint interior - a memorable dining experience. During our meal the village cowboy/ drunk wandered in and visited a few tables including our table. After sitting himself down he asks for exactly $4 dollars, followed by asking how much it would cost to eat at the restaurant but before we could answer the manager took care of him and whisked him away.....an awesome dinner with a show.

Just an overall great experience! The food was exceptional and perfectly cooked! Also the salad bar is the best in town with anything and everything you could ever want on a salad! My husband and I were celebrating him getting his taste and smell back after 103 days since he got covid19. We chose the seared tuna for our appetizer, it was divine! Definitely recommend! ❤

This was my second time at Plank Road and it didn't disappoint. The first visit was during the summer where we ate outside with live music. The food was amazing. Our second was Valentine's Dinner. Unfortunately they were out of the NY Strip, but the chef took time to visit our table and offer something else. The steak was cooked perfectly. Definitely will be going back!

My Mom attended an event at this restaraunt and raved about the steak for a week! She loved it so much she asked to be taken there for her birthday dinner! The food tastes great and the service is impeccable! Ask for Dana when you go she'll take good care of you! A nice change if you want a break from Greenville without having to take the extra drive to Raleigh!

Git Carrol as your waitress. Food was excellent an service was great. If it wasn't for Carrol we wouldn't have a table on this packed night.

Beautiful rustic interior that comforts the soul. This hiden gem just off of Main St. Farmville in front of Piggly Wiggly is just what the Dr ordered for a Sunday dinner or calming date night. Open dinning area with a wide variety salad bar and a dim welcoming bar area. Patio seating in the back with a lovely tree growing straight through the roof. Menu feels straight off the farm and what every country heart wants. Of course you have lovely beer selection but the bartenders also take pride in making a tasty Old Fashion. Really enjoyed our steaks and bacon wrapped scallops. Even the owner takes the time to stop by and hello to new and old guests.

I don’t write many reviews, good or bad, but felt compelled to share our experience last night. The title “Chef” gets used a bit loosely these days, but I’ll go ahead and call myself one. I’ve worked in varied fine dining restaurants, owned a Breakfast/Lunch restaurant with catering for 13 years and a Culinary Certification from the Art Institute of Raleigh/Durham.

My wife and I celebrated our 37th wedding anniversary at Plank Road Steakhouse in Farmville NC last night. This was our first visit. Our reservations were early, 6:00pm, but didn’t need since there were only three tables occupied when we arrived. The hostess was very courteous, and our server greeted us within minutes. We ordered a bottle of Pinot which the Bartender arrived with quickly and opened and allowed us to sample.

We ordered the Bacon Wrapped Scallops for an Appetizer which came out almost instantly, meaning they were not made-to-order. They were a bit overcooked but had good flavor for being pre-made.

She got the Filet Mignon (medium rare) and I ordered the NY Strip (same) with fries and Salad Bar. The Salad Bar was well stocked, clean and fresh. Very enjoyable.

Our meals came out ( to my surprise) while I was headed back with my salad. Both steaks were cooked to perfection with a very nice char. The only thing that would have improved them would have been a tab of butter at the final minute (on grill) to give them little “shine”. Taste and tenderness were very good as well as the portion size.

Neither of us liked the two steak toppings (sauces) that were offered (blue cheese sauce and Bearnaise) which can be easily fixed by the Chef.

All entrees and sides were hot and fresh. Our server was polite and attentive throughout the dinner and, with a decent bottle of Vino, two of the highest priced menu items, bread, sides and AYCE salad bar, everything came to a reasonable (in today’s market) $107.

So, no real complaints and will both recommend and return for another good experience. Definitely was a 9/10 night.

We had a very nice dinner tonight at Plank Road Steak House. I call for reservations and ask for a quiet table for two. That is exactly what I got. The food was great and the service excellent. A personal side note, I really like the ice.

Completely surprised by the whole experience. From when we got there, we were greeted by our waitress and the manager of the steak house. The pricing of the food was well worth it! we enjoyed both of our meals and had a great dining experience. The manager came up again during our meal to make sure everything was up to par, which was a very nice thing to do. Can't wait to come back here and try something else.

This place is awesome! They have absolutely great food. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is very nice and makes you feel like your home. The staff and owner are some of the most friendly people you'll ever meet. I will say this if you'd like to eat here your best bet is to call and reserve a table, they fill up fast. Definitely worth the drive from Washington.

Absolutely loved it !!! Great atmosphere !!! Great staff !!! Not jam packed. The tables are not close to each other like other restaurants. The owner came out to meet us for some small talk. The food was delicious. Our steaks were cooked perfect. Salad bar was fresh. We will be going back this weekend.

Food never disappoints! Steaks are mouthwatering, garlic mashed potatoes are phenomenal, and don't even get me started on drinks and dessert! The staff is attentive, kind, and casual (make you feel at home). We also love the back patio with live music!
