DSR Mid Century Furniture

At first I did not understand why I needed an appointment, however after talking to the owners I understood why. This is the largest selection of Vintage furniture then anyone in Charlotte has. Not just the largest the nicest. The best part, when I made my appointment, the furniture I wanted was there!

DSR offers unique, quality, vintage mid century furniture at a reasonable price, plus you will never buy from nicer, more helpful, honest, genuine people. We’ve bought over a dozen pieces of furniture from them over the past few years and they have nearly furnished our entire renovated 1963 split level. We truly consider Darby and David friends and always recommend DSR to anyone who admires our furniture. We’re so fortunate to have happened upon their shop. You won’t be disappointed!

We have purchased several pieces from DSR - Danish and American, vintage and custom - and are happy with them all! David takes his role as a restorer very seriously, and Darby is super helpful with finding just the right piece. They have a great selection - usually at least a few well-known names/forms, and always of superb quality. The only problem is bracing yourself for heartbreak when The Perfect Piece has been claimed by someone else!

I'm so impressed with the quality of the furniture and other Mid Century Modern items David and Darby sell. I also appreciated being able to set an appointment time and have them be onsite when we arrived. It was a wonderfully personal shopping experience in MCM wonderland. We can't wait to cone back!

What can you say when you find the most amazing selection of MCM furnishings in one place. Using appointment times also ensures that when we arrived the items we were interested in were still there. We are so happy with our purchases. The owners are also top notch nice .

Awesome furniture

Been here a couple of times to browse/purchase. It's nice to see what they have via their Instagram pictures and videos. They have some really nice pieces and we love the table we bought. It is the centerpiece of the room. We got home and turned it over to put felt pads on the legs so it wouldn't scratch the wood floor and the underside of the table was caked in black stuff. Spent the next hour or so scrubbing hard to get it off. Other than that we are happy with the purchase. Darby is always helpful and pleasant. David sure knows his way around furniture and the unique styles but is always rude to the point where we questioned buying from DSR. Beautiful items but we won't be back.

Prices seem reasonable, though hours are restricted - perhaps appointment only. Had mixed results interacting with owners/employees.

Store is never open.

They're open 4 hours on the weekend and frequently close for the weekend.

You'll have a hard time seeing furniture if you're an out of towner who can only occasionally make an hours long trip.

The furniture looks nice from what I can see online, but they've never been open when I have been in town.
