Wow! I was hoping not to have to write a review for this company but it needs to be done. My husband and I have stayed in several placing all over the world during our military service. This company is the worst that we have ever rented with. Please do not rent from them. If the properties you are looking at belong to them, Run!!!

When I had to unexpectedly move within a North wood Raven community because of building issues I was forced to set up a move that took up a lot of personal time. The situation was difficult and unpleasant due to their policies.

One word describes this company - HORRIBLE. I lived at the Bradford Apartments in Cary for 9 months and it was one of the worst renting experiences I ever had. First, I constantly had bugs in my apartment from cockroaches to centipedes to frogs. I even had cockroaches in my shower! During the fall and winter months of covid, there was no mask requirement. Tenants were walking around the facilities all the time on elevators, in the gym and in the mail room mask less and management did nothing about it, even after complaints. What's the point of having nice facilities for tenants when they can't even enjoy them!

When I moved out, they CHEATED me on my full security deposit, by making up false complaints that stains were found UNDER the rug (with no proof that it was from me) and nit-picking about dust in the tight corners of the water heater room. When I tried to explain anything, they did not respond.

I found the facilities management to be very unprofessional, unresponsive, non-caring and when making a request, I had to contact them over and over because they never took the time to read my emails.

I paid $35 a month to have my garbage picked up and there were several times that it was not picked up, or cans and pieces of garbage were left outside my door.

This place only cares about one thing, getting your money! The apartments have cheap carpeting and cheap floors, I'm not sure how they get away with calling these apartment "luxury", that is really a joke.

If you want to over pay and have a so so 1-2 bedroom apartment and a building with not much to offer except poor management, then I guess Bradford apartments will be for you.

When I moved to my home in 2016 I would have given this place 5 stars. Since then the employee turnover has been insane (4 or 5 managers and countless office staff). They do not care at all if you have been loyal. Management rarely seems to have any interest in interacting with residents for any reason. I am looking to buy a home and was told if I needed a month to month or three month lease I could sign the same overpriced agreement as a brand new resident. When I asked why there were no options for long term residents I was told it was against policy. From what I can tell they wouldn’t care if every unit turned over every month. They opened a new property across the street in the last year and we were told we could not use their amenities. I’ve spoken to residents there who said they were told they could use our amenities. If you aren’t at a shiny, new property you become the stepping stone for them to rotate managers through and they just stop being interested. I would highly suggest anyone looking for a place to rent pick one managed by someone else.

I'll never rent from one of their properties again. There are so many issues with the property I live at it's unbelievable. It's the loudest place I've ever lived due to extremely cheap construction (but not cheap rent). They refuse to give you a second key to your own apartment, even if you pay for a two bedroom. I complained directly on Northwood's website about this and never heard back from them. There are a total of 13 visitor spaces for a building of 300+ people. Residents constantly complain yet nothing has been done about it. They increased my rent, but the same unit is listed online for cheaper. I guess they do not care about keeping good residents. The list goes on and on.

Their new plans for the Northgate Mall property are a slap in the face to a city that desperately needs more density, housing, and walkability. It's an archaic design that ruins a golden opportunity for Durham to add another urban district. Clearly the developer has no ambition to help cities grow in a modern way and is only concerned with maximizing profits. Northwood Ravin is a prime example of why developers get such a bad rap and why so many American cities will remain hamstrung by urban sprawl rather than becoming the walkable, transit friendly communities we need them to be.
