Love this gym! Tons of free weight - squat racks, plenty of machines and cable machines, there are more experienced gym goers here. They provide trainers for those needing it, an awesome boot camp room, tanning, sauna. Beautiful locker rooms, plenty of cardio equipment. It’s 24/7 which my husband and I loved because we are early risers and workout partners. Keycard entry for after hours/before hours workout sessions.

Least busy early morning and late night - midday to afternoon most busy.

THIS was by FAR my favorite gym when I lived in Murrells Inlet!!! As a female who loves the gym to ACTUALLY workout, it's one of the best places to go! The staff are SO nice. If you have questions, they are quick to answer (or will get you an answer before you leave). Even the members are quick to help if you ask (regardless of if it's about a machine or for a spot). Ladies, if you don't want to do Squats with an audience, they have a room specifically for women only to workout in. The locker room is so nice and beautifully decorated (with a large mirror for that gym selfie.) Never attended any classes, but heard they were awesome. They also have tanning.....so, for the same price (and sometimes cheaper) than the well known bigger gym behind them.....you get a nice place to workout WITHOUT the pervs who come to gawk at women and make nasty comments. But remember....this is a REAL gym. It's CLEAN, but there ain't nothin' fancy about it. You're there to workout and it's perfect for that! I absolutely love it and if I EVER move back to MI, I'll definitely be back!

I’ve been a member of American fitness for almost three years now and I’ve worked with amazing personal trainers, and have always experienced great care from helpful staff! I recently moved a little farther from the gym and tried a few other local gyms for the days I couldn’t drive and seriously none of them compared to American. This gym has the best equipment, best space for workouts, has been the cleanest, and has the most to offer for the best price. I’ve made myself get up earlier to take the drive because this one really is the best! I’m also a Pilates instructor and from a professional standpoint this deserves more than 5 stars!

We moved from Ohio and researched many gyms! American fitness is the BEST gym around here 100% so many machines, free weights, classes and space! The nicest, cleanest gym I’ve been in! Highly recommend! And 24/7!!

This, by far, is the best gym around. My trainer, Kristen, is great. She works me hard. I am developing muscles, which I haven't had in years. They have a private women's exercise room. I highly recommend this gym 🏋‍♂. Kristen is a great trainer. If you are looking for someone to motivate you choose Kristen. Oh, I failed to mention that I'm 71.

I started personal training sessions with Adam in March and have been going, regularly, since then. Today, I found out that I tore my ACL and MCL. Crutches have been brutal for the past 5 days, but much better with my improved upper body strength.
We had a session yesterday, and I went in crying, feeling really sorry for myself. He immediately started praising me, just for showing up, and had me smiling by the time I left. Adam is an incredibly knowledgeable and professional trainer, as well as a great cheerleader. I appreciate everything he’s done for me so much! American Fitness has exceeded all of my expectations, keeps me motivated, and is highly recommended!

A great place to work out, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the equipment, plenty of equipment to choose from, it wasn't too crowded when I visited however I do believe it most likely could get busier at certain times of the day. It was clean. It had very nice locker rooms with a sauna in the corner which I liked. Overall it is a very nice gym. I would like to point out that there are a few minor details here and there that might need to be fixed, a simple repair here and there, nothing really worth mentioning other than that. But I liked it, I had a good experience and I will most definitely be working out there again.

We recently started taking the bootcamp classes and really love all the changes and upgrades that are being made to the space. Coach Adam is awesome and has helped us get stronger and has shown us many new exercises. We highly recommend American Fitness!

I am currently on a trial period here at American fitness. I like that they have a Sauna here!!! It feels like a real gym. Not a cookie cutter kind of gym. Staff was nice and respectful. I didn't feel any pressure. Clean facilities too. Might be Making the switch, even though this gym is 30 min away from me. But I like the feel

Great gym, even for the far from profession/avid exerciser like myself. This place is immaculate, temperature controlled for comfort and the staff are friendly and helpful. You cannot beat the price. They have great machines that all work and function properly which says they care. I'm pretty sure they provide this gym because they genuinely enjoy having people work out with ease. It's so nice to not feel judged and to be greeted by the staff every visit. I urge anyone to stop by and see what packages they offer and get a your. It's beautiful and well spaced out, making working out here very pleasant.

My husband and I live in Columbia SC. We visit family in Myrtle Beach frequently. My husband joined and brought me in with him this weekend. I absolutely loved the gym. It is by far my favorite place to work out. I wish we had one in Columbia. Will def be returning when I’m in town.

Great gym!! Very helpful and friendly staff. Lots of machines and lot of different classes lead by the gym instructors to choose from all of which are included in the base membership. The gym is 24 hrs. It also has a tanning bed that's included in the membership. The cross fit room has a phone charger and adapter which allows you to play music from your phone over the speakers in the room which is really cool. The locker rooms are very nice and very spacious. The showers are huge with great water pressure. The locker rooms also include a very nice hot sauna also included in base membership and with unlimited use. We've been a part of a lot of different gyms and these is by far our favorite and most recommended. All these things are included in the base membership for only $40 a month!!

It's a large gym with great equipment plenty of room. Two of the same machines for specific body parts means no wait for use. Front desk staff are very friendly. Great prices. And it's 24/7.

One of the best gyms that i have been to in Myrtle Beach. They maintain a lot of their equipment. So many different free weights and machines for different exercises. Very affordable and a nice atmosphere for all ages. When signed up they are open 24/7. No matter what time it is or when you get off work they will be open.

My wife and I both got week passes while we were on vacation. The price was fair. The facility was well maintained, the locker rooms were impressively clean and the staff were incredibly friendly.

There was not a single machine or piece of equipment that was out of service. My wife didn't feel like she was out of place when she was training which is important for her.

The power room had some cool old school machines but the one thing that felt odd was there was one squat rack, one of those cumbersome behemoth Hammerstrength power rack and a Smith machine with no real place to do deadlifts without taking up the power rack.

We will definitely be back next time we are down.

Trained in gyms all over the US and abroad. American fitness for one has 24 hr access. It will accommodate any schedule. Unlike most gyms, the equipment is very well maintained. Whether you are young old, into fitness, bodybuilding, powerlifting their equipment accommodates everyone. Also on most popular machines they have duplicate machines so you don't have to stand and wait unlike the overcrowded purple place. If you are new to working out, many of the new fangled machines are designed to make money and look cool sitting on a gym floor to attract new unsuspecting members. But many of those machines are NOT built to build muscle or be forgiving on the joints or tendons. The quality and variety of equipment however at AG is Incredible. The showers and locker rooms are far nicer than any I have seen elsewhere. Great quality clientele. The rates are superb for any gym. But for what American Fitness offers they are an exceptional value. It is not overcrowded. They Also offer yoga, aerobics, boot camps the list goes on. The staff seems to be very polite and accommodating. Oh, many gyms are polluted with drug trafficking of all types. Did not observe such behavior. FYI don't know the owner, or any one there, not a part owner or any such thing. So this is not a BS post. People always want to complain. I like to give credit where credit is due. I heard about the place from another guy; I have worked out there twice to see if I want to join. I am this week. I will drive 20 miles out of my way to work out here it's that good.
