Caro Mio Italian Restaurant

The pasta was incredible and seemed very fresh and authentic. We were all very impressed. This is definitely some of the best italian in the city by far, despite the prices. You definitely get good sized portions for the money too! The gnocchi in tomato cream sauce, the pesto, the burrata and garlic bread, were all amazing. The garlic bread was some of the best Ive ever had. The chicken parm was enormous. The risotto was delicious, and the gnocchi bake in bolognese was very good too

Absolutely zero complaints as this place was wonderful! Very friendly and attentive service without being too much. We had the garlic bread as an appetizer which came with the best marinara sauce I think I have ever had, so yummy! For our main courses we had the Penne Matriciana, which had delicious meatballs and sausage, and the Linguine Arrabiata (they were kind enough to let me sub the linguine for penne and remove the eggplant). The arrabiata sauce was INCREDIBLE. Just the right amount of spice and so much flavor.

Would absolutely recommend for the great food, service and overall cozy vibe.

Armando has family recipes you must not miss! He is a warm, inviting man whose kitchen staff perfectly execute his mastery of Italian cuisine. The desserts are fabulous as well! Warning: Caro Mio is a BYOB- si bring your favorite vino and mangia, bevi vino, e goditi un pezzetto d'Italia! (eat, drink wine, and enjoy a bit of Italy tonight!

Delicious home made Italian food. Wonderful pastas. BYOB. Small quaint cozy space. Friendly staff.

The food was delicious, the service was so nice, and I love that it is BYOB with no corking fee as well. Definitely try one of the homemade pastas - they are incredible!

We tried the Homemade Gnocchi (stuffed with asiago with tomato cream sauce) and the Pappardelle con porcini - both were great! The portions are huge as well.

Fresh pasta was so good and portions were huge. Small, intimate and creatively decorated space feels very cozy and homey and BYOB. I was with a group and we tried a lot of different appetizers which were all great.

This is the best place for pasta in the city, which is a strong recommendation. The portions and the flavor are amazing. The restaurant itself is pretty small but cozy, but don’t sleep on them for take out. Do yourself a favor and get the chicken parm rigatoni! The best homemade pasta and meat bolognese sauce I’ve ever had.

The place was tiny and cramped prices are a little steep but the food was massive! Super tasty authentic Italian, great neighborhood place.

We have been patrons of Caro Mio for years. The food is always excellent and the BYOB is a bonus! Don't forget to make resy's. It's small but intimate.

Portions were HUGE.

Rigatoni was Great, with that capital G. May be a little too heavy for some tastes. This ain't no fromma da box pasta. The balance between bite and depth of flavor is amazing.

Chicken was pounded out thin before breading - rather than a thick 'ol breast slapped on top, like some other places pass off as a special add on - very satisfying.

Will be returning.

DE-LI-CIOUS. Lovely restaurant with such an authentic Italian vibe. Jean Pier was our server. He was very pleasant and gave us outstanding recommendations. Overall an amazing night. We will definitely come back.

The best BYOB italian restaurant in Chicago, with generous Portions and Friendly stuff. The manager Jean was great! The pasta Is really homemade, the Green Bean salad was just delicious.

A fun little BYOB place with amazing homemade pasta and a tiramisu to die for. Staff is super friendly and food and service are great!
