We had an amazing stay here. It was fall so we did catch some ladybugs trying to stay warm by the windows but wasn’t too bad. The staff was so sweet and made our little honeymoon so much better. They bumped us up to the Captains Suite which was haunted for sure but also absolutely beautiful.

My daughter wanted to visit the mothman museum for her birthday and stay at this hotel. It was wonderful! Everyone was so nice and helpful. I will definitely stay again!

Truly fantastic experience, extremely friendly and interesting folks working there happy to help and answer any questions. Atmosphere is something special and you can feel the history, the town was an absolute treat to be at the heart of.

The Lowe Hotel is a wonderful trip back in time, right on main Street for Point Pleasant. The building maintains so much of its old charm, but this does mean that some of its comforts are not on the level of modern hotels. The staff are so helpful and welcoming, willing to give you help on anything you need.

Beautiful historic hotel! Central to all things mothman, comfortable, very clean sheets and towels, and hot water with good pressure in the shower (took a few minutes to heat up but that's expected in an old building). The skeleton keys are cool, but, as a person who's owned a 100 year old house, others are probably right in pointing out they probably work on multiple doors in the hotel. I did still feel very safe though (not here for the festival and there weren't many people around) and the doors also have chain locks. The "creepy old man" in the lobby I saw mentioned in other reviews is actually quite nice if you actually talk to him. Furthermore, it turns out, he is the owner so he's entitled to sit there if he wants. The woman who checked me in was his wife and she was also super nice! If you love staying in historic hotels and meeting very nice small business owners, you'll love it! If you're more of a Hilton person, it might not be your cup of tea.

This hotel is amazing! It’s so beautiful you will feel like you’re in a movie. The historic feel puts this hotel at the top of my list. Accommodations were good. Everything was clean and smelled pleasant. The bed was comfortable and I slept great! If you’re in the area and you don’t stay here, you’re missing out!

This hotel is BEYOND amazing. You need to be a person who appreciates the historic value - or even like ourselves, the art. Visit the art gallery within. Visit the bar area when Ruth is available to mix you up a wonderful drink. Explore the common areas (during reasonable hours) and take in a bit of what the place was like in the early 1900s. They've done extremely well in keeping things as original as possible. Many rooms have a skeleton key for entry and each are unique in their own way. The location is right on Main St., convenient to most Point Pleasant attractions. You cannot achieve better than The Lowe by any stretch. We have come to adore the owners/manager. If we could, we would move right on in to share in this dream. Listen folks, it is breathtaking! Whenever we come to Point Pleasant area, this will be our home away from home.

We loved the Lowe Hotel and plan to return. The staff are incredibly friendly. The hotel is clean. It's huge and we had fun exploring. The hotel is across the street from the Mothman Museum and the Coffee Grinder. We can't wait to return.

Stayed here on a whim as the last night of a 9 day trip with my daughter who wanted to go to The Mothnan Museum.

The woman who check us in was extremely enthusiastic and offered us a lot if information about the town. After chatting us us up for a few minutes she "upgraded" our room to the most "haunted" part of the hotel. The room was clean and very large, with a river view, I was pleasantly surprised. We did walk around a little bit to take in the antiques and beauty of the place.
The owners are super friendly and more than happy to tell you anything you want to know about the hotel. I would definitely stay here again if ever in the area.

Stayed here a few months ago with my daughter while on a trip from Atlanta, GA to Pittsburgh, PA to take her back to school. We are both fans of “Mothman” so we decided this would be a fun stop to cut the drive in half. Even though Mothman was the original reason for being in this small isolated river town in the middle of nowhere, the most memorable part of the trip turned out to be the Lowe Hotel. This hotel is amazingly beautiful and the owners made my daughter and I feel like family. I have never had a hotel experience like this and probably will never again. We were give an in depth personal tour of this historic building, which incorporates a giant art gallery. The whole experience was unforgettable. My daughter and I will treasure it for the rest of our lives.

Stayed with my family during the 2022 festival, and was utterly charmed. This is a characterful and charming hotel, with equally characterful and charming staff. My family all agreed they would be keen to visit the hotel even in a non-festival period, simply for the pleasure of enjoying the hotel (and the terrific town) alone.

Was so happy I stayed here. The room was full of old antiques and was set up so that it retained the look of the original day. The lady that set me up in the room told me all the past history & the ghostly tales. I stayed up late hoping to hear the piano & the signing but was sadly disappointed. Nor did I hear the the running children or their laughter. But I enjoyed the stayed non the less. The place is excellent. The beds are so soft with the homemade quilts. Truly you just need to stay for yourself to see. You won't be disappointed.

Stayed here a few weekends ago, haven't been here since my high school prom was held in the ball room, and hotel hasn't changed at all. It doesn't have all the luxury of a modern hotel but it's a wonderful experience to stay in this historic hotel. Bed was comfy, the ac worked well for the room we slept in, we didn't really go into the other bedroom or setting room other than to look around. The view from the sting room and smaller bedroom was ok, there is a nicely painted floodwall so the view of the river was still nice. Lady at front desk was super nice and made us fell very welcome.

Beautiful, historical hotel in an amazing location. The owners are lovely people, so kind and welcoming. There is something to discover around every corner whether it is art, books, photos, or decor. We were on a road trip and of all the places we stayed, everyone (including my 8 and 6 year old) wanted to stay longer. We loved this whole experience- I can’t recommend it enough!

Although we pulled in very late, 9:15 PM Ruth the owner was very accommodating for our check-in and grabbing something to eat down the street.
We enjoyed walking around the hotel while looking/ listening for ghosts and enjoying all the open rooms and their decor.
They also found my daughters earrings and will be mailing them to my house!

A very lovely experience and welcoming atmosphere. We stayed here one night and it was a lovely stay. The bed was comfortable, the owners were gracious and the aesthetic was up my alley for sure. A great place to stay if you are having a adventure in the beautiful Point Pleasant.

One look in The Lowe and you’ll know it’s a great place to stay. The antique interior is a loveable return to days past in American life. Rooms are sized well for guests and decor will differ from room to room, which is a nice touch. Friendly folks manage it, the bar for guests only and the gallery next door. would stay again.

I would first say that you will either like this place or you would love it. Personally, I loved this hotel. All the furniture is antique, the entrance hall is all marble, and the small bar looks like it used to be a speakeasy. The management are very courteous and will give you a tour of their art museum if you ask nicely. This historic hotel is complemented by the town of Pt. Pleasant. There is a small levy where concerts are held on the weekends and a national park in walking distance full of historic monuments and statues. Overall, this hotel and its ghostly guests makes for a very interesting stay.

loved this place. you could stay at a 5-star hotel in manhattan that might lack the ambiance of the lowe hotel. feels like you're traveling back in time. my room had a record player with some old 45s, which i loved. owners are super friendly and take pride in keeping things up with the hotel.

The establishment was built in 1901, an the decor shows it. The first thing that hit us when we went in was the antique smell. I do believe that the owners live in the hotel. Check in between 3 to 10pm, with the owners locking the doors at 10pm seems reasonable with them living on site. We had a little trouble with our door not wanting to open after we locked it, but the locks and keys are antique so that forgivable. As for haunted we stayed in room 301, we didn't really go for the ghost, just how close it was to the Mothman Museum. We didn't have anything happen in the middle of the night. It was peaceful for most of the stay. Some of the rooms had little sitting rooms where you could just go an chill. It was nice to be in a piece of history and just vibe with it.The third floor does have a microwave in the one sitting room, so that a plus, also our room had a mini fridge. If you go with kids or babes warning for you. The walls are a little thin, you can hear people talking or the TV rather well if you stand in the hallways, that was the most creepiest part of our stay. Overall we had a pleasant stay. It wasn't to much to stay for the couple of days. Mothman Museum across from the hotel, they have rooms that over look the Mothman Statue. The restaurants around the hotel, had been decently priced.
