This is a fantastic little zoo. It's the perfect place to take the kids for a short outing. The staff are super friendly and we got to see some great things. I'd happily go again!

Family and I were visiting relatives in Illinois and we were pleasantly surprised on the animals at the Zoo! Loved every exhibit and especially when we got to pet and feed the goats while we were there. So much fun & every Thursday during Summer 2023 the admission is FREE FOR EVERYONE! 🐼🐨 Highly recommend if you are in the area!

Great little zoo. Low cost, friendly employees, petting zoo with the cutest goats and furry hog. They have warm weather penguins, train rides, carosel and cheap snacks at the snack shop. They take cash and cards. My favorite zoo in central Illinois!

Great place for young kids. I've had a membership for 2 years now and it's so worth it. My son loves visiting and the staff is so great about answering any questions he has.

This is one of the nicest zoo I have ever visit. I love the train ride. It passed through the lake, such a great experience.

We went there for Mother's Day and Mothers get in for free. I thought that was nice of them to offer that. The animals were well taken care of. I'll go again.

Scovill Zoo was a very fun zoo to visit. It was very well kept and had a great selection of animals for the size! The train ride was very fun and the conductor was very friendly. Would highly recommend!

Zoo was really small, but it was kept up well. Kids loved it. They almost have a little bit of everything.

Some days they have free admission. Just pay for the train ride and carasoul!

Favorite part was petting the goats!

Boo at the zoo was so fun! Nice treats for kids of all ages! The haunted train ride was spooky but not too frightening for a 2 year old! Not a lot of animals could be seen since it was so dark, but it was fun just the same! The workers really outdid themselves with all the pumpkins and lights and decorations!

Great sized park for little kids. My 3 year old can walk the whole thing all by himself! If you have time (you only need maybe an hour). It's a must stop for those who enjoy Zoos!

It's a decent zoo for how small it is. I had a great time at the petting zoo with the goats and the other animals in the seemed to be fairly active. I went on a day where the zoo was free and had a good time with family. I will say seeing the cheetahs was a real treat we had gone to several zoos in the area and they never seem to be out at the other zoos.

Had an outstanding day at Scovill Zoo and the surrounding amenities. Inside the zoo, the train ride provides views of cheetahs and camels, and the carousel is a hit with the kids. Goat feeding is a must-do. We spent a fulfilling 2-3 hours inside. Additionally, there's a free play area outside the zoo, which alone can occupy kids for an hour and is connected to the children's museum. Overall, a fantastic destination for a full day of family fun. Will definitely return. Five stars.

My husband and I stopped at this zoo after attending the Farm Progress Show. What a wonderful gem for Decatur! Loved the park-like setting. We were greeted upon entering--I think from the Director, which was very nice. We both really enjoyed the train ride as we were not expecting much and were very surprised! Enjoyed seeing the penguins and got to see Sam the Tortoise out for an afternoon stroll. What a treat! Gift shop had a lot of cute items for young and old. We plan to return and spend more time as we came close to closing time and were tired from our previous event. Would be interesting to know if you advertise feeding times of the animals.

We've been here multiple times and it's a great zoo! It's small, but well maintained and updated. It is also AZA (Association of Zoos and Aquariums) approved, which means the standard of care for all the animals meets rigorous evaluations! They participate in conservation research, too.
There is a free petting zoo with friendly goats, a large playground, a carousel of endangered animals, and a train that runs around the facility. Definitely recommend visiting and spending some time here!

We had such a great afternoon at the zoo! The girls loved the petting zoo and would have gladly spent our entire visit with the baby goats! Don't forget to make time for the playground! So fun!

We love this zoo! There are alot of great animals, and the zoo is very well kept. My daughter really loved the penguins and the zebras and my son loved the indoor building of all the snakes and bugs. There is a cute carousel that sits in the center, a great playground, and their snack bar prices are very reasonable. Definitely a place to check out if you are in the area.

Had the most amazing time at this cute little zoo. We were on our way up to the UP and needed a place to stop on the way. We ended up stopping in this town and doing the behind the scenes experience with the cheetahs! It was incredible! Everyone from the gift shop, office management, to the actual animal keepers were so nice! I highly recommend doing behind the scenes. Wesley, the cheetah zookeeper, was the best and went over and beyond to show and tell us everything possible about multiple animals, not just the cheetah brothers. Thank you all and if we ever are passing by, we will definitely stop in.
