Didn't find the kind of bike I was looking for, but the owner was very helpful and friendly.

Needed to grab a screw bit to finish some work. They had an assortment of bits that you could buy individually so you didn’t have to buy an entire set

I wanted to cut 4 kitchen table legs down to make a chic coffee table. I read reviews that the big box hardware stores would be able to do it for free or a couple of bucks- I was more than willing to pay- and with their ample supply of lumber I was certain this would be true. I called Windy City Hardware after getting turned away from Home Depot (in person), and an Ace Hardware store. The guy on the phone told me to bring it in to see what I had, not assuring me he would be able to. I walked into the shop the same day, just before closing with table legs in hand to a chorus of "there is the lady with the legs". I felt like Norm on Cheers. Jerry and his lovely wife owns the place. Michael and another guy also helped out. Jerry measured twice, confirmed the length with me and within minutes he and the guys emerged with my new coffee table legs. He said I could return for advice if I needed it. (I will definitely return to check out their bike stock. Lovely used city bikes for great prices!) He also pointed me to another person from my home country, who works in the neighborhood. These guys reminds you that neighborhood-based stores are great resources.

If you need anything, please stop here before going anywhere else first. The owners and staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. You will not find this kind of service anywhere else. Not only are they helpful with general hardware but they’re also a bike shop with an incredible variety of bikes to purchase. They’ve also repaired my bicycle that I purchased from them. Highly recommend.

Awesome service, Jerry and his staff are very helpful in regards to bikes and any small home repairs you may have. He is the true heart of Bridgeport kindness and hospitality and I'm proud to be a customer at his store. Anyone interested in getting a bike tune-up MUST vist Jerry. You will not find a better price for the amazing service!

Awesome hardware slash bike parts and repair shop. The owners are very friendly and knowlegeable. I hope people support more shops like this and run these big box stores out of our beautiful city.

If you need your bike tuned up, this is the place. Least expensive tune you'll find in the city. Jerry is super knowledgeable and equally nice. If you own a bike and go elsewhere you're just throwing money away.

Great little neighborhood hardware store. Jerry and his wife are super friendly and helpful. They have really affordable prices and are very knowledgeable. The open times are a little open to interpretation. Both are retired and kinda open when they want too (who can blame them). Jerry always says just give him a call and he will get down there. This is a Bridgeport Icon, shop small and support these guys.

I love my new bike that Jerry prepared for me...he made it from scratch and the price was reasonable...hey check out Jerry...windy city hardware...if you need anything at all he gotch you..and he doesn't charge you a harm and a leg...het Jerry thank you my bro
