Back of the Yards Coffeehouse

Great little coffee shop in the area of Back of the Yards. They have a fantastic hot chocolate and tasty sandwiches.
There is also a printer that works via Print With Me in the café.
The people working there were very friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed.

A well coffee shop. Inside is a little tight but their is outdoor seating. Espresso is good and costed over $2 which is well worth it. Service is great and apparel are available for purchase!

The staff was really friendly. The Cafe was super cute and like a great place to sit and relax. I ordered an iced horchata latte with oat milk and an egg, bacon, and jalapeño kolache-- both delicious. Would definitely come back again to try something else and one of their lonches.

Their horchata cold brew is amazing and the sandwich I had was also great. The coffee bags are reasonably priced and they have a variety to select from. It’s a minority owned shop that deserves and earns its business!

My Americano had great flavor. The barista was very kind and welcoming. I wish there was more indoor seating, but I had no complaints otherwise.

I have visited this coffee shop a handful of times. I make it a point to swing by for my dose of caffeine when I am in the area. I like the set up and the variety of their menu. One of the very few spots of it's type in Chicago south side. I have tried one of their sandwiches, it was tasty and generous in size.
I would love to see the shop expand and be able to hold more people during their evening events.

Co-worker wanted coffee and neither of us was familiar with the area. Did a Google search and this popped up as the #1 choice. We decided to give it a shot and was very impressed. It's a very cozy spot. The staff was incredibly friendly. The syrup used for flavored coffee is homemade, and my co-worker said hers was amazing. I contemplated trying a flavored blend, but decided to go with the regular blend. The guy ahead of me ordered what I was thinking about and came back to say it was delicious...will be going back to try that now. If you're in the area give it a shot.

I loved the videos of this coffeehouse. It’s very intimate and loved the menu. Cafe con leche was delicious as well as the warm crisp beagles with cream cheese made by hand. It surpassed my expectations.

Great staff, chill place, great art, amazing coffee (loved the Xocolatte - espresso based with chocolate ganache, cinnamon, and ancho), good music (like Marvin, Michael, Stevie!), and most importantly, doing great things in the neighborhood.

What can I say about a place that took its chances on a blighted community and brought their delicious coffee to it. I love these guys mission, it’s so refreshing to know that their are folks willing to take risks and offer this type of quality and workmanship. Thanks guys!

I had a really nice time visiting this coffee shop! The coffee was excellent and the breakfast bagel was good too. The interior seating area is a little small and might have trouble accommodating larger groups, but it looks like they have an outdoor seating area as well (though I did not have a chance to check it out).

The staff was friendly, prices were fair. It is definitely a nice place to grab a quick meal or study for a while. I just wish that it wasn’t too far for me to walk to.

I had moved into this area recently and I’m completely obsessed with coffee. I had been eyeballing this place for some time. Today while doing laundry I desperately need a cup of coffee…so I decided to try this place out. Let me tell you I am not disappointed at all! The young lady at the counter was super sweet and helpful. I had a Latte with Mexican Vanilla flavoring …it was smooth and with just a hint of sweetness which I love. Topped off with an everything bagel with turkey, egg and cheese. I will definitely be hitting up this spot on the regular.

I've been meaning to go to this coffee shop for a while and I finally did. They have delicious snacks and there Chai latte is awesome! Nice little spot. Will definitely be back. They run out of things quick so I'll make sure I'm there early.

Best coffeehouse in Illinois. They also support local businesses and give back to the community. We need this kind of businesses to help empower others.

This place is for sure a hidden gem. Went there with some friends on Saturday morning. The coffee was excellent. The employee working at that time was easy to work with. The xocolate was delicious!! Will definitely go again.

Very cute coffee shop in Back of the Yards neighborhood with plenty of vegan options.

This is a truly magnificent place, with extraordinary coffee, wonderful varieties of treats (including pastries, sandwiches, bagels [to
name only a few]). Beyond the availability of such wonderful delicacies, the staff is undeniably rad, totally cool, simply magnificent people. Lastly, the environment and the atmosphere in this place is just perfect for getting some work done or reading a good book.

Be sure to check this magnificent cafe out if you're int area!

Really kind staff and delicious drinks and tamales! I posted up for 6 hours to do work and had a latte, 2 tamales, and a free hibiscus tea! The free tea was because the barista kindly asked me to move seats for a band that was going to be playing some live music, but that then didn't need my spot. I totally didn't mind that happening, but the barista gave me a free tea anyway. End result -- beautiful live music with a refreshing drink :)

Outdoor seating is temporarily on hold due to their landlord's request, not sure why.

This is a very awesome place to sit down and get work done. Oh, and the coffee is very delicious, too! Frankly, I have to highly recommend this place! But, don't take my word for it; visit for yourself and experience the awesomeness of the coffee, the atmosphere, and (most importantly) the staff—they are all incredibly awesome human beings. I assure you that you will find your experience at Back of the Yards Coffeehouse to be a splendid and enjoyable one. Cheers!
