This place is very, very delicious. I came here for the nacho fries.

Top notch! Food was fire! Service was EXCELLENT! Everyone was so welcoming. It was our first time stopping in. DELICIOUS! Can’t wait to go back. I know I’m going to be craving that pulled pork. Thank you for the excellent food and hospitality! Didn’t take a pic. Forgot to cause we smashed it immediately! Yum 🤤

First time there; everything was absolutely delicious! My husband got an order of BBQ Wings which he devoured immediately, I got the catfish with fries and slaw which I thoroughly enjoyed! Very friendly people and great service! Soooo good! Will definitely be back for more! 😋 ☺

I took home meals to my family. Everything was delicious. I didn't have to wait long for the order. Had ribs and chicken wings, green beans, baked beans, potato salad, coleslaw. Great!!!

Unfortunately it was closed the day we were there due to a family funeral my condolences to the whole family. Normally the food is hot plentiful and awesome especially the green beans and barbecue. Will definitely go back at another time

One of our favorite local establishments we visit. Wonderful service, great family run business. Try anything on their menu and you'll love it! We love coming here, lunch or dinner and it will always hit the spot. Plenty of options for indoor seating. Updated, pleasant experience. Clean and inviting atmosphere, we will return as we have the last several years through every change they have had, and we love all the growth our community has been able to support. Their BBQ is truly blessed. The sauce is fire and the pulled pork hits the spot. Sides are good too and the atmosphere/kind staff really make this place a go-to.

UPDATE: their renovations are finally complete! The expansion and extra seating area is nice. The prices are still extremely reasonable and food is tastyyyy.

We have always had a great meal at the Pit! Best barbecue in Peoria!!! The owners are some of the most wonderful people you will ever meet.

This is a restaurant where you get a legendary barbecue sauce . It's family own and the people who run this place are really warm and they are a gift to community. I really love their sandwiches and loaded fries.

Smoking pit has been one of my Home Town favorites for a while now! Upon entering the restaurant there are scriptures all through out the establishment and it really feels like a plus in addition to the Southern cooked meal that fills me up every single time. I always go in and grab the Create Your Own meal which comes with 2 meats and 2 sides. I usually get 1/2 of rib tips and a fillet of cat fish (request buffalo sauce on the side for you fish, youll thank me later) and for my sides I usually freestyle because all of the sides are amazing as well. 10/10 recommend.

Stopped in today for 2 fish dinners as it was my birthday and as always was delicious. Fish and fries hot and crispy, green beans were tasty. Good food and kind people. Thank you for my little gift Miss Michelle it was soo good. Clarice's friend.

Just go! Wonderful food and good people. Pulled pork, ribs, brisket are all yummy. My favorite is the pulled pork. Green beans and baked beans are fantastic. I’ve bought their BBQ sauce and love it. Carmel cake was a bit dry for my taste.

Great BBQ!!! Gotta get the ribs!! Its a nice little sit down restaurant in the Northwoods mall. The food is off the chain and for great prices too. The staff are very friendly and the vibe is chill. I will be back for sure!!!

As always, this place was delightful. It was nice to see the upgrade and expansion as I even been here in a while. You can feel the peace within this place. The food was hot and delicious. The service was great as usual. This is a nice place to eat, if you want a nice home cooked meal if you dont feel like cooking. I definitely recommend this place and of course, I will be back!

The food was sooooo good. Like i couldnt take a picture i ate it so fast. Ribs fall off the bone, fries crispy and hot, pulled meats juicy and delicious. 10/10 couldnt be happier or more full.

Mannn! Catfish was A1! Mac n cheese was soooo good and baked beans were awesome! I tried caramel cake for the first time and that was very sweet but good especially when you heat it up a little in the microwave! I'll definitely be back!

The best BBQ in Peoria whether you pick Pulled Pork, Brisket or Chicken. And yes Smoking Pit has one of the best Catfish dinners you could ever hope to find anywhere. Good, friendly service, and cosy atmosphere as well.
