Bernardi's II Restaurant

You can't really say you've had the world's best fried chicken until you have eaten at Bernardo's II. Yes, it is an Italian restaurant, but the chicken is the showcase item on their menu. The crust is light, thin, and crispy and seasoned to perfection. Order the chicken, and get a side of pasta to get your Italian fix.

Dining at Bernardi’s II is always a wonderful experience. Their fried chicken dinner is absolutely the best choice on the menu, but all other options are safe/good options too! The service is always great. It’s located in downtown Pontiac and is your typical steakhouse style restaurant. If you’re in town and looking for a good sit down dinner place I highly suggest Bernardi’s. They also have good cocktails and specials day to day.

Had a very pleasant dinner here at Bernardi's. Came here on a Saturday night, and the place was quite popular. The restaurant is casual, but I could see the place being used for slightly upscale events too. The Italian food was good, but the highlight of the evening was the giant pretzel! It was HUGE and delicious -- and came with a cheese sauce and a marinara sauce.

Excellent food, excellent service. We had originally taken a ride down to Log Cabin, only to discover they'd closed early. We improvised and searched for another option in Pontiac and were pleasantly surprised to discover Bernardi's. Very crowded for a Tuesday evening, reasonable dinner prices. The fried chicken was excellent and the steak fries are to die for. We'll definitely be back to this hidden gem in the charming downtown area of Pontiac!

Got carryout. Hoof and Snoot with Steak Fries. Fries were a little overcooked. But the steak and sausage were well prepared and in good time. Good meal for the money. Will be back. Can recommend. Wish they were open more hours per week.

Absolutely amazed by the exquisite food. We were walking downtown and the smell from outside made us stop here for the first time. Great food for an amazing price. There was a 40mn wait so it is a place to plan ahead and not for a quick bite but it was worth it! We can't wait to go back.

While visiting family/friends in Pontiac, (from Southern California) we all went out for dinner. Had the very best pretzel for an appetizer!!!! We all enjoyed our meals very much. The Alfredo sauce was tasty and the salmon was good.

A little gem of small town Pontiac, IL. I wasn't expecting much and was surprised that they are above average for sure. Giving them a five star for it being better than expected. Will visit again.

Always delicious food! Went for a reunion dinner with 8 of us, all former classmates. Our server, (Libby?, Abby? I'm sorry, I forgot) was wonderful. She gave us plenty of time to gather and order, never rushing us. She checked back quite often, without being pushy. Our drinks were refilled promptly and our food came without any issues. The atmosphere is always upscale without being snobby. Good food, great service and very pleasing decor.🙂

This place beyond exceeds expectations. The Bartender gentlemen was outstanding with every drink request..especially the "GREEN TEAS" shots!! The steaks were cooked perfectly! Best surprise birthday dinner ever. We travel and hands down this place is worth the visit!! We recommend 10 outta 10!

I had the fried chicken and baked potato which were both excellent. I ate while seated at the bar. The staff was friendly and attentive. Bernardi's is a classic "old-school" Italian restaurant that has a well deserved reputation for great service and excellent food. Highly recommended!!!

The food and atmosphere was excellent. We were there to celebrate a birthday and it met all of our needs. The staff did a great job.

We stopped here on a Sunday afternoon. Lots of menu options. Our meal was great and service was excellent.

Great experience. Brittany was an amazing waitress. Very attentive to detail and took time to provide wonderful customer service. There was 2 in our party. One had the Angus Ribeye, with seasoned veggies, salad, tortellini and bread. The other person had the stuff shells. Steak was amazing. No need for A1. Steven the chef, did an amazing job with the steak. The salad was just ok. Garnished with a cucumber, cherry tomatoes, and a baby carrot. The bread was okay. A little dry, yet it was 730 at night so maybe that's normal at that time. The veggies could've cooked a tad longer and were over peppered, yet still tasty. The tortellini was great, and so was the meat sauce that accompanied the pasta. The stuffed shells had a delightful stuffing. Very tasty. the shells themselves were a tad tough and in some spots hard and or dry. The Alfredo and marinara sauce was delightful as well. Overall, we will be back. Definitely enjoyed those who worked there that helped provide us with a great experience. Thanks again Brittany and Steven! Well done! Keep up the great work Steven. If any cook we've experienced deserves a tip, Steven sure does!

6 of us went there last night for supper. Everybody was very happy with their meal. Our server Tammy was wonderful. If you're ever in the area this is a must stop.

We were recommended to try this from a local at our hotel and boy did we make the right decision listening to him! The service was great, the food was off the charts and the location was a great extra for this trip. Definitely will be a stop next time we’re in Pontiac.

When service is slow because everyone in town seems to be eating there - it's hard to complain. The menu has a good variety of options and we all enjoyed what we ordered. Prices were fair and our server was good. It was easy to see why it was so busy on Sunday evening.

123 N Mill St, Pontiac, IL 61764 We went to a class reunion and it was catered by Bernardi's. Our server was Joe Pina. He was always where we could talk to him. We asked him about the different items Bernardi's had and about what most ordered, We had the Chicken, ( It's out of this world) I had more then I should because it was SOOO Good and the vegetables were so yummy that I even asked to be able to take some home. and the pasta was very good too, very moist not dry like some caterings had. Joe was just very fantastic and glad he was the one they sent. Thank you Joe for being there and you were right the chicken was fantastic and if we are ever in Pontiac again we will stop by Bernardi's.

Great fried chicken! I get it everytime I go, better than KFC for sure. It is a wet batter fried chicken! Service is usually great, but I have had a couple visits that weren't the best.

Wow. Decided to drive out to Pontiac to try a new place for dinner. This restaurant is Amazing! The pretzel is a must get, beware it is huge. But the bread, the pasta, everything exceeded expectations.
Does not hurt it is super clean inside
