Y'all! Do NOT sleep on this place!! The vegan Tamales are all delicious! We had all of them! The atole was hot, but also yummy! Alex (I think was his name) is amazing. Great service, quaint spot. Our friend had non-vegan Tamales with el lote and loved everything as well. Definitely will be back here when we're in town.

SO GOOD!! I saw this place on the way home from a doctor appointment and suddenly *had* to have tamales. I ordered two pork with a side of corn, and they were so good I ordered four more to take home! There's also lots of space to eat in comfortably, and a beautiful selection of local art on the walls to enjoy while you eat.

Delicious food, nice atmosphere, fun friendly servers, and BYOB!?! This place is everything! If you dont come here at least once, you are really missing out on the best tamales you've ever had😉

I visited this restaurant for the first time two weeks ago. Parking was very convenient. The owner was exceptionally nice and informative. The tamales were very good. We also had the Mexican soup which was very tasty. Visiting the store and chatting with the owner was a fun experience. We will definitely return. The hours are a little difficult for us as most days the store closes at 5pm. For excellent Mexican food visit this restaurant!

Have been consistently delicious for almost two decades. Tamales are authentic, hot, and DELICIOUS, and the tinga is the best I've ever had. We don't work/live nearby anymore, but whenever we're even close, we stop in. So glad they're still going strong!

We love this place! It is cozy and clean and the owner is always there with a smile. Lare variety of flavors, but the Vegan Spinach was extra tasty! They even have real quality napkins. We can maybe have a tiny wedding here!!!

Awesome Tamales and great service! Had a few chicken tamales and they were great. Service was unbeatable and the tables were clean!

Moved to the area two years ago and only wish I would have found this place back then! Super friendly but even better is how good the food is! The tinga was awesome. And we tried four different tamales and they were all distinctly different and all very delicious! Highly recommend!

BEST TAMALES WE'VE EVER HAD! We loved everything we tried and cant wait to go back to try all of their vegan and vegetarian options! The mushroom tamales and pineapple tamales were my favorites so far.

I was pleasantly surprised at how yummy the mushroom and bean tamales were! It’s so hard finding vegan restaurants (or any restaurant with vegan options) AND to find good vegan tamales. I had to bring some home so that my family can try them. I’m happy I found this place!

Coming from Arizona, I was definitely skeptical about finding good tamales out here in Chicago, but man this place was good! The pork, chicken, and cheese/jalapeño tamales were all great. Excellent tinga as well!

The tamales tasted were amazing. The price is steeper than most people in the city are used to for tamales but keep in mind that these are not regular tamales, they have vegan options and are made without lard. Well worth the try if you are ever nearby!

Absolutely phenomenal tamales. Super moist & fresh. You CANNOT go wrong with the pork or crab! I'll definitely be a return customer. (note: hard to see from the road, but worth finding)

Vegan Tamales!!
This is heaven to me (as a brand new vegan).
They have multiple options, I had the bean tamale and it was delicious!
On top of that the owner was very friendly! I'm from a small town and he really made a connection rather then just feeling like another customer.
I'm coming back to take some home with me!

The tamales are great here. I'm a tamale aficionado. Have made my own, but I'm very impressed with Jaime's versions. He has an amazing spread of vegan tamales. Not on the menu is his Chicken Mole Poblano tamales. You have to ask if he has them in stock. Nothing like them!

I've shown my artwork twice at this establishment, which supports the arts. Last time I had 35 of my paintings up. Many sold. Jaime also has a poetry slam (on a semi regular basis), a comedy night and musicians often play there. I've played there with my trumpet in various combinations of accompaniment (I play jazz ---bebop).

I had 3 different vegan tamales: spinach, mushroom & broccoli. They were GREAT, especially the spinach ones. Next time, I’m gonna try some atole. It’s a morning thing, so they were out of it by 11:30am, when I was there. I’ll definitely be back, and I highly recommend this place.

I love the choices. Broccoli and vegan. The service is excellent, and I would love to attend to one of the events. I love that the owner is very supportive towards the community and art.
