Chicago Community Kollel

This fine pioneering institute created a huge positive impact on the lives and spiritual growth of so many. Founded in 1981 by a special group of holy, pious scholars, dedicated and hard-working. They give all their heart and soul to the cause: being a center for Torah learning on all levels, as well as a bastion of warmth, guidance and support. Led by great Rabbis, supported by wonderful community lay leaders.

When we moved to Chicago, my father started working for the Chicago Community Kollel. So, we got to know Rabbi’s Francis and Zucker since we were children. We were there through the arson attack, where shortly after, the Kollel miraculously was able to build an even bigger campus. Even though my father doesn’t work for the Kollel anymore, (he branched out and continues his outreach in the suburbs,) we maintain a nice relationship with the rabbi’s.
Whenever you walk in, there is always the sound of learning coming from the sanctuary or Bais Medrash rooms. Jews from all around Chicago come to this location to study. There is a warmth that is hard to put into words. It’s a shining example of what a learning institution should feel like.
