Tangent Gallery & Hastings Street Ballroom

I love the Tangent Gallery. It's a vibrant cultural center in midtown Detroit, popular with musicians and artists. They host a wide range of shows, featuring both local and national touring artists. The drink prices are pretty reasonable too. The only minor issue is the lack of dedicated parking, so it's wise to be mindful about where you park.

Super cool underground feel venue. Tucked sway, this is a mid town gem for shows. Live music, art, all sorts of styles. Well priced bar with a friendly staff and good pricing. Sound in the main gallery has a big feel while having an intimate experience.

Nina at the bar is just such a sweetheart, she was prompt in her service and went above and beyond to take care of everyone. This place is a hidden gem of Detroit! Highly recommend.

I really just come here for the bartenders at this point— Damon and Damien are great. They’re so sweet and funny. 10/10 recommend. Always looking out for me when I’m there.

A great space with great staff supporting the edm scene and festival culture! There are vendors inside selling wares, you can dress up and bring flow toys, dancesafe has a booth, it's like a mini one night festival in here. The sound, lights and vibes are all fantastic. This is the space to see (or book) your next show! ✌🫶🙏🤝

I always have fun here. Super cool place to catch a show or chill. The staff makes you feel like family.

One of the coolest spots in the city!

This place is extremely sheik! There aren't enough stars in the sky to give this place based on the few experiences I've had. I'm new to the Detroit party scene but few places deliver a unique crowd AND atmosphere that you actually participate in. Punk rock dodgeball, Spirit realm meditation, underground music and hot hippie chick's are just a few of the things you might experience here. The bar is also a great plus and the bartender is a sweetheart. This is a great place to go if your getting into the scene but are not sure where to start. My advice to you: go to nonsense night.

What a unique experience, goth, Arty, industrial..The experience was bizarre, macabre, totally fun and new. I'm not very experienced in hanging out at hip places, but this one for sure fits the bill. Will be exploring future events for certain.

Quite possibly one of the best galleries in Detroit. Much more than a gallery. Great place for live music and wild shows. From the Damned exhibit to Fury Road-tangent has always been awesome and never scared to be on the cusp of what’s interesting and New in Detroit. This is a definite place you have to go to in the city.

I have put on events here and helped friends with their events here for years. It's large, customisable and retains an edge thst few other places in the area are able to achieve.

I have worked with the Tangent Gallery on multiple occasions to host shows and events. Every time, it has been a huge success. The venue is very large and has a very unique vibe- not to mention a bar!
