City of Waterloo Carousel

An absolutely beautifully restored carousel! Lacquered wood, pretty carousel horses with varying carved saddle decoration, with a calliope playing music and everything! Wow!
I am still giddy with glee from the time a got to take a spin and the music played while we glided round and round. Accessible hours are limited but it adds to the thrill when one does get to enjoy the charm of this lovely and delightful living relic of old-timey days!

This beast has been ravaged by floods and restored twice during my life. It was finally moved away from the river a few years ago to higher ground. The spot it's in now makes it clearly visible while driving through the park. It used to be pretty well hidden between the river and the 3rd base side of the concrete seats at the baseball field.
