Gathering Coffee Co was recommended to me by a local. During the first time visiting, I was given a warm welcome. Jacque, One of the owners of the shop greeted me and shared a delightful conversation. She provided me a great experience and answered all of my coffee questions. Isabelle was the barista that made my coffee and it was fantastic. The shop is very pretty. Seating is great. Wifi is provided to the public and shown on displays located throughout the shop. Outlets are everywhere. The interior decoration is vibrant enjoyable to see. Plants all around the shops. They have a really great retail display and options. There is a spot near the restroom where if anyone needed a clothing item, they can take it. As a coffee shop enthusiast, the experience is beautiful. Parking on the street between the shop and comic store is free. The space is not too crowded and a great place to study, do work, and meet up with friends. They've even got board games and books for individuals who want to do activities within. One side faces the street and contains large windows for a good street view. They also have a darkroom in the back for those who process their own film. It's worth asking about it to the owners. I highly recommend this local business.

I love this place & their message. It’s very easy to feel alone when living on the road and traveling like I do so it was comforting to read the message on the wall and their slogan “Alone is nothing that you are.” Just little things that makes you feel welcome. The coffee is great and the spinach artichoke pastry was incredibly fresh and delicious. This was a good stop while visiting Detroit.

This is the next local cafe at an up and coming Detroit neighborhood. (All they need is a walkable grocery store😇). Everything we ordered was good. Friendly staff. Clean. Ample amount of classic games (chess and board games). Outside seating. And supports local artists. Overall, good vibe. Will look forward to visiting again, whenever a family member wants to visit and spend time at the comic book store next door 😊

Great coffee shop I found on the 4th of July. Lots of PC’s out and while there was music playing it was fairly quite. The muffins looked great…. Next time.

Great spot! Friendly service, delicious drinks, good value and cool vibe! Ordered a chai and it was great! The place is filled with an eclectic mix of art which gives it a nice and cozy atmosphere. The restroom is inspiring lol. Highly recommended!

I am from flat rock. I came out this way to get my eyelashes done then I stop by there so that I could get some coffee. This place touches my heart. I really love what they have going on. U can feel love just walking in there

Have been coming here for over two years now. Every staff member is incredibly kind and welcoming. I’ve always enjoyed my drinks, and the couple times I’ve had a pastry I’ve been very happy with them.

Easily my favorite coffee place in the city! The staff, atmosphere, and drinks are all perfect.

As a Detroit native, born and raised and still living here, this is by far one of my most favorite places in the city! The drinks are top notch, the pasties are ALWAYS on point, and the people are beyond amazing. I pass up 10+ shops on my way here because none of them are as welcoming, genuine and absolutely delicious as The Gathering.

Best coffee experience of my entire life. Such a warm, welcoming environment. Staff is absolutely wonderful, always greeting with a kind smile. The owner is an angel fallen from heaven. Most genuine soul you could ever meet. A delicate flower.

One of the best coffee shops I have ever been to! Their Mocha uses a homemade chocolate ganache syrup that is to die for. Will be back again in the near future and any time I am in the city!

This place is so welcoming. The owner Emily greats you with a great smile and a bundle of energy. I like my Mountain Range extra hot with light sweetener which she has remembered since my first visit. It is so great to see young entrepreneurs taking risks. The Gathering isn't just a coffee shop, it's a place that welcomes and integrates you into itself. It's warm and familiar and friendly. People talk about how it's a business that's also concerned with community; you get that sense with how staff interact with you.

But it also is still a coffee shop. And they are quite good at coffee too. Well-roasted and sharp in flavor. They make very intriguing coffee cocktails (non-alcoholic) too.

There's an unusually high concentration of (very good) coffee shops pretty close to New Center - but the combination of both the coffee and the space in which that coffee is consumed makes Gathering my favorite of all of them.

This coffee shop is incredible. They have some really great unique drinks that taste so good and they do an amazing job on the standard drinks you'd expect like lattes, pour overs, and so on. The atmosphere is beautiful and inviting and you will feel loved and like you belong here because you do and are loved by the staff. Come check this place out and make it your new coffee shop to go to. Plus Emily (the owner) is one of the most loving, powerful, and creative people I know.
