Jasmine hooked me up. She was very friendly. She washed and retwisted my dreads and made me fall in love with them again. My dreads needed a lot of work, because of my negligence over the years but she got them back together. She has gained a loyal customer because I am very picky with my hair and she was great. I recommend booking an appointment to see her. Her prices are very reasonable and I have long dreads. See you again soon Jasmine. 5 stars.

I had my hair braided into a Mohawk last week Friday by ms.Shelby she did a great job, I had gotten my hair done from June 2013-September 2019 till tht time frame. These ladies came through for me I highly suggest this salon for any ladies looking for a new hairstylist/salon, looking forward to being back soon! Gracias ☮

I love the beautiful atmosphere as well as the lovey ladies that greet you with a smile each and every time you come in. I love getting my locs done here, so glad to have found this gem of a place. These ladies are knowledgeable about your locs and take care of your hair, they don't just do hair!! So if you haven't found you a good loctician honey give them a try, I promise you won't be disappointed!

After years of contemplating a visit I finally had the opportunity to be pamper myself and it was WELL worth it!!!

I was serviced by Maat, a beautiful young lady who was very professional with a genuine smile, wonderful energy and refreshing conversation.

The atmosphere was relaxing filled with serene energy, very visually stimulating and music to match. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner who actually provided me with a suggestion on a treatment I requested, advising me it wasn't needed and gave me an explanation of why.

I don't usually spend money on these types of services but once a year but because of my experience I will be making another trip in a few weeks to receive assistance on my natural hair journey 😁

Had a wonderful experience while getting my hair done. Staff is very friendly and make sure they take care of you. Consultation is needed for them but also needed for you so you can know how you hair is doing. THEY TAKE CARE OF YOU!!! They make sure that you look and feel wonderful. Nefertiti knows to point you to the right direction when it comes to the style your interested in. Prices are good, I had Bubba as my stylist and he took his time to do my hair and was very nice. He made sure that I was taken care off and had wonderful long dreads himself so I knew I was in the right place. He took care of my hair and I love in and can't wait for in to grow, I'm very excited and we had awesome conversations along the way. Would definitely recommend if you are or you can get to the midtown Detroit area!!!!

I've visited the previous location in 2019 to get my hair cut short and get a fresh start (they did a beautiful job). Once the pandemic happened I couldn't keep my hands out of my hair (I cut it myself twice 💀).

Now I want my length back and am leaving it to the pros. I've seen LaTonea a couple of times now. She's helping me with length retention using protective styles(cornrows w/ my own hair and now Marley Twists).

She is incredibly gentle with my hair. No pulling, yanking, or too tight braids. I'm able to sleep normally the same night. When I've take my hair down there's been very minimal shedding or buildup. Extremely professional and communicative, she takes her time to make sure things are done right and that I'm satisfied with my hair.

1000/10 will be back

I'm so glad to have found this natural hair salon. Everything has been top notch from beginning to end. Everyone is so friendly and the service is excellent. I've seen Jasmine twice now for combs coils/palm coils and I've been very happy each time. She is very knowledgeable about natural hair and how to take care of your hair. I highly recommend her and this shop.

Ebony aka Goldilocks is a beast!!! She is truly amazing at her craft and she's a true educator when it comes to growing healthy locs! I have prebooked my interlocking appointments until the end of the year. She's impeccable. I trust her with my hair. Thank you, Ebony! ❤

I have been going to Textures for about 3 or 4 years and I love it. My locks are done quickly and they look and feel good. The wait to get in the seat is short to nonexistant and everyone is very pleasant and professional. The facility has a very calm vibe to it. I also get a manicure and pedicure each time I go...Love it! There is nothing negative to say about Textures By Nefertiti. I highly recommend it for any one with natural hair or wanting some pampering.

Nefertiti and her staff are always friendly and professional. Textures always has a nice atmosphere, great conversation, a variety of services and overall an excellent experience. They are conveniently located in midtown Detroit right within walking distance of many other small businesses. Definitely a great place to check out for your natural hair and services.

Carol took incredibly good care of my granddaughter, who has a lot of anxiety surrounding haircare. She was kind, gentle, patient, and gave her an excellent cut as well. We will be back soon.

Wow. I don't usually leave reviews, but I just had to let the people know. As someone who has kinky, difficult (for me, at least) hair, I have never enjoyed getting my hair done. My mom actually developed severe wrist pains from doing my hair as a child and I have countless stories of unprofessional hairstylists uncharging me for my thick hair or endlessly complaining about having to do my hair. LaTonea here changed that for me. First of all, when I walked into the spot, it was literally one of the most beautiful salons I had ever seen - the vibes were immaculate and the playlist was fire! For some context, I used to keep my hair in crochet braids and didn't really do anything else for like four years, so my hair was pretty dry and unhealthy. I'd been wanting to go natural for a while, but I was super scared and intimidated by it. But LaTonea saved me! I'm convinced she's an angel from the heavens. From the moment I sat down, she gave me LOADS of tips and tricks to manage my hair. She walked me through each step of what she was doing and how I could do it at home. Now, mind you, I am SUPER tender-headed. Never grew out of it. Consider it a curse. With my thick, kinky hair, how could it not be? To make matters worse, before my appointment, I forgot to take some Tylenol for the pain. With LaTonea, I didn't need it!! I kept waiting for the ball to drop, but for the whole time I was there, I was not in pain!! Let me tell you (with a word I so rarely use) I was GOBSMACKED! I went through a wash and blow-dry with ZERO tears. ZERO!! Until that day, I considered it impossible. And LaTonea was a trooper, too! I have never met a stylist with that kind of stamina. She took zero breaks and worked at a consistent pace (Though I did want her to rest for a lil bit because I know my hair is difficult). From that moment, I knew that as long as I lived in Michigan, I would go to Textures by Nefertiti forever. I have never, ever in my entire life looked forward to my next hair appointment. But praise LaTonea, I will see you in April, girl! I will be referring as many friends as I can to this place. Price is reasonable, too. I am shocked that LaTonea has only been working there for a couple months... We better watch out for her - she is definitely not human, she is a goddess!

So TLDR; go to Textures by Nefertiti! Give this black-owned business your coin!! And don't forget to give LaTonea your coin, too!

Been a loyal customer for years all natural all good vibes & good people i don't even know how many people ive recommended its been so many. Also each stylist is excellent and does superior work. That actually care about the health as well as the appearance of your hair.

This is the only place I would go for my loc maintenance! The staff is always great and they are very accommodating and time oriented. You can call to make an appointment or do it online. They are very professional and the pricing is the same as everywhere else. Tracey is my stylist and she is wonderful! She also cuts hair as well so she can retwist your locs and give you a line up if needed.
