Surprising good Indonesian & Malaysian food! The portion is generous and the waitress was friendly.
Ordered R11-Malaysian Chicken Curry ($10.99), Malaysian Stir Fried Noodle ($10.50), Combo Fried Rice ($13.5), Tom Yom Noodle - Shrimp ($11.50). Kids' favorites are the fried noodle and rice. Tom Yom soup are on the spicy side, compared with typical Thai restaurant in US, but good for me. We had a great time here and will visit it again next time we passed the town.

Update: All the Chicken dishes at this restaurant are "Halal". They have a great selection of chicken dishes.. The Chicken curry with the paratha is absolutely delicious and the Sweet & Sour chicken was pretty good as well. Looking forward to going back and trying the remainder of the chicken menu.

It's a nice little Indonesian-Malaysian restaurant. Located at West Main. They offer variety of Chicken, beef, shrimp, fish and veggie options. We went to try the Tuesday special of Fish Curry with eggplant/beans. It was really good, although the rice could be served hot instead of being just plain cold which tasted like microwavable rice. The husband and wife who run the restaurant are really nice people and try to get to know you while providing great service coupled with delicious food at the same time. Overall it's a good restaurant to try different flavors. There is fish, shrimp and vegetarian options for people looking for Halal food. There is very limited seating space so finding a table could be struggle at busier times.

I go here often. I always get the roti canai with curry chicken dipping. Also the Sup Adam Pedas and add white rice it’s very good highly recommend it these two are my favorite dishes I get. Staff is friendly to me and food is always hot and fresh recommend checking out this small dinner.

This is my favorite place to eat in Kalamazoo. It opened my mind to Malaysian food, and now I can't stop ordering tofu rendang with roti. Environment is a very cozy mom-and-pop shop, where the actual family works together to cook up and serve authentic food. The owners are their true selves towards customers, which is nice to see they offer a real experience as opposed to typical American synthesized friendliness. A local favorite, you'll often find regulars picking up lunch for the whole team or sitting down to catch up with/take part in the community that is this amazing restaurant. I love Rasa Ria!

Big fan. Very tasty and affordable. I still haven’t tried the beef rendang, which I hear is excellent. My butter chicken was really good. Maybe a little overcooked, but the flavor was there. The roti and curry puffs are 🔥.

Being born and raised in Malaysian, the food you’re getting from Rasa Ria is authentic as it gets! If this is your first time trying Malaysian/Indonesian food I recommend trying Beef Rangdang, Nasi Goreng or Nasi Lamak!

Pro: Delicious authentic food, very affordable and great portions.

Con: The restaurant moves at a fast-paced and may come off as rude, I recommend knowing what you want to order before calling them!

I've had both the beef rendang and nasi lemak, and both are fantastic. Their sambal is especially good. I really reccommend getting a couple roti with whatever you get, they're amazing. If they ever start making Laksa, I'll probably start going every week.

Just ordered takeout in pajamas. Food was absolutely delicious and a mom and pop too!

We had the beef and tofu retdang. My only constructive criticism would be to have two versions for the tofu retdang; one traditional as you have it now, and one geared towards Americanized (a little more zesty and sweet).

The beef retdang - wouldn’t change a thing!

Thank you!!

1/24/24 Update: Rasa Ria has great food that is made even better by the friendly, attentive service of the Gomes family as they provide fresh, authentic Indo/Malay dishes highlighted by Shrimp Curry, Fish Curry, Mi Sup Asam Pedas, Beef Rendang, Roti Canai, Sayur Lodeh, Pulled Tea, Chili Chicken and many others. Give them a try - every thing is good and I could eat here everyday!

Only place in Kalamazoo that serves Malaysian and Indonesian food. Love their special on Tue which is fish curry. If you want to know what the top rated snack in the world is, try the roti canai. Can't go wrong with nasi lemak too .

The food is very delicious, hopefully can stay like that, the owner start the bussiness 15 years ago, and had been through some of back and forth condition and they make adjustment of meals in order to suitable for western people.

Oh my! The food was absolutely superb! I’m not from this area but the food makes want to move nearby so I can have it weekly. The owner is very real and down to earth. Very much enjoyed the short conversation with them. If you like complex and deep flavors then this is the place to come. Very budget friendly too.
I recommend the Nasi Paprik!

I've been going here for almost 14 years now and the quality of the food is still great. My favorites are the different fried rices and mee goreng noodles. They also have a fish curry special every Tuesday. They offer halal chicken in the dishes but you should probably ask first.
