Shout out to Haab's for not only having a beautiful restaurant, following covid procedures, and wonderful service, but also amazingly good food. They have some of the best fried mushrooms I've had in a long time, served with a surprising side of house made cocktail sauce, I ordered a side of ranch as well but please try the cocktail sauce with the mushrooms, you will be pleasantly surprised what a good combination it can be! A half order comes with 6-7, and the full order 12-15 or so. Haab's is known for their chicken so if you can, I recommend also getting their chicken, they cook it perfectly. I wanted a sandwich so I ordered the Monterey fried chicken sandwich as well as a burger so that I could try that, all sandwiches come with a side of coleslaw so I added on a side of shoestring fries for $1.50. The chicken sandwich was superb, not greasy or too watery like some can be, the burger was cooked to how I like it and was not dry, and the fries were good, they went well on the burger.
Over all a wonderful restaurant! It is family owned and operated and they are friendly and definitely want their customers happy! Their pandemic hours were posted so I took a picture to attatch.

I love this place! This is the third time I've been and every time the food is SO good! We visited during COVID-19 and they took precautions very seriously, which I appreciated! Definitely will be back! Love those breaded mushrooms!

Good food and service! The chicken in a basket is great, fish and chips were delicious! Could use a face lift on the decor inside. Cozy atmosphere.

Placed a large, complicated order for 6 plus sides and apps for curb-side pickup. All 4 NY Strip steaks and a London Broil were done perfectly to order. Smoked pork chop was delicious as always. Wings and Clam strips not soggy. Not one side was missing and they got the entire order perfectly! These picky guys loved the steaks. Thank you so much!!! I have loved Haabs for years, decades and still do today. My mother wanted deep fried mushrooms (pictured). They were quite delicious as always. Our server, Erin, was particularly helpful and energetic. Her energy was appreciated on Mothers Day as I know she had just been slammed for a few hours prior to our 3pm arrival. I had the Turkey Ruben and loved it. The rest of my family enjoyed their meals and we had a very nice time. Thank you Haabs on Mothers Day

Went to dinner for a birthday celebration. There were six of us and all the food was spectacular except my dish.
Two other ladies at the table ordered Whitefish and Rainbow trout , which I tasted and were excellent. Also, I tried a bite of prime rib, which was also very good.
I decided to order a shrimp stuffed flounder, lots of stuffing and decent amount of shrimp, but not very much flounder. Less than 1/4 of the amount of fish the other lady's had served for their entrees. I didn't complain, because the food still tasted good, just too much stuffing for my taste. Our server, Jasmine was absolutely fabulous and very attentive.
All in all, I would recommend this place for excellent service and very good food.

The first time I patronized Haab's restaurant was on a cold winter's day in early 2005. It immediately became one of my favorite places to go. It isn't fancy, but a cozy, old fashioned, tavern-style eatery. When you enter, you first see the bar, with an interesting, old set-up of fans on the high ceiling driven by lots of belts and pulleys. Beyond that, are two dining rooms which are always decorated differently, depending on the season. The whole place has a certain patina (I mean that in a positive way) of age and character.

Over the years I have had almost everything on the menu. It is all wonderful, and well-presented. The service has been consistently cheerful and professional. My favorite part of the menu are the soups: they are all made in-house. Probably my only criticism concerns the bread that comes with the dinner. It is presented on a cutting board with a knife, but it is just O.K.; It isn't real flavorful, but I could do with eating less bread.

Overall, I consider this establishment a consistently great place to enjoy, and a reliable place to bring friends and family to. Mike, the owner, and his son, Dave work hard to keep Haab's running efficiently. We joined the email club, which sends out a monthly newsletter with coupons for the restaurant and other events in Ypsilanti. It is a lot of Fun.

My Parents use to take me here when I was very young. I always loved it when we would go. I loved their Fried Chicken then and it's just as good now! I have never had anything but, that. This last time I went I did try the fried mushrooms and they were excellent. Huge and delicious. I will say my Sister and Brother-in-law were very happy with their choices. Meat Loaf and A Smorgasboard of Meats. We all said we would be back

Came here with my parents after they helped us move into Ypsilanti. The food was amazing as well as the service. Very homey, my type of place. On top of that the prices were amazing it only cost us less that $70 and a meal like that in Ann Arbor where we were living would have been at least $100 on the low end. I am actually a server myself and I liked it so much I though about applying there. Great Place will be regulars there now since we are so close.

So, my bf has lived in Ypsilanti for a few years and I'm a little new to the area. We went here last night for our first time and loved it! We were both wondering why we have never been here before! Service, food, and atmosphere were all wonderful! We will definitely be back and i want to bring my son, he'd love the food!

Haab's is so unique and wonderful. Always great meals and friendly, welcoming service. My family's favorites are the top sirloin and the roasted pork. Soups are homemade and a great accompaniment. Even their coffee is fabulous! And the bread!! Well worth the drive from anywhere in Metro Detroit. And did I mention the prime rib? So many great choices.

We had a birthday luncheon for 60 people at Haab's and they did a superb job. Dena and the wait staff were very organized and polite. I know that serving a large party can be challenging but the food was great and served in a timely manner. Mike and Dena were very accommodating and friendly throughout the whole process. I highly recommend Haab's and will definitely use them again for parties!

I loved this place. Great home cooked comfort food. The building as beautiful architecture inside.

Haabs is comfortable, inviting and has a relaxed atmosphere. The wood bar is classic and happy hour is 4pm to 7pm. Great deals on drinks and appetizers.
The service is quick and friendly. A great place to unwind and have good food. I will definitely return again.

Ordered the salmon and it was excellent. A large serving and moist, seasoned well. They have the biggest pork chops I've ever seen and those who ordered them said they were very good as well. Decor is reminiscent of the history of the building, women's restroom was clean. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys a good home cooked meal.
