Northern Lights Lounge

Attended for a birthday celebration. Approx 25 of us throughout the evening. Service was average at best. It wasn't that busy until later,I understand being overwhelmed when busy. I've been multiple times but this was the first time we didn't have great service. The kitchen closed at 9 (we were unaware before going) there were several of us that intended to eat and we tried to order shortly before 9. Our drinks were empty more often than full. We had to find our server. The server combined bills without asking or letting us know prior causing awkwardness because some were paying cash and some credit. The glasses from our tables were not cleared. Several of us just went up to the bar to order. Great music, nice atmosphere. Food is usually yummy. Overall a great night.

This place was amazing. We walked in and were immediately greeted and welcomed to the bar for a drink. Chad was our bartender who shared some great tips for places to visit in town and the other patrons were friendly. The atmosphere is cozy and warm. I’ll be back!

I had a fun time, everything was cool for the most part. Pretty sure my waitress was drunk but whatever it happens. Gave my credit card to someone else was fun getting in order but overall. Bring yourself down and it’s a cool place to visit.

Went for drinks and dinner on a beautiful late September fall evening. The food was phenomenal. The patio was lovely. The service could’ve been a lot better, but I’m chalking it up to the waiter/waitress’s day. They were very nice, just kept forgetting about us and forgot one whole meal. We all have bad days. And the food was so good that we didn’t really mind.

Food was good, drinks were super strong. Staff was really nice!! Cute bar near my home office. First time visit because of a work party.

The food is absolutely delicious! The ranch & spicy ranch sauces are so good. The quesadilla, chicken tenders, maple whiskey wings, salmon dinner, mac & cheese dinner are super good!

Beautiful patio, great music, tasty chicken wings and strong, reasonably priced drinks!

Very nice place to watch music. Food was very good. Dennis Coffey plays Tuesday nights. One of the greatest guitar players alive. Highly recommend.

I usually go to parties here for house or Techno Music and it's always had a nice vibe

Northern lights is a special place. Calmer style bar with a jazz feel atmosphere. They have red comfort round booth seating which is a huge plus in my book. It's also one of the few places where you can get a ginger beer with alcohol (crabbie's) in it. The food here is also quite delightful. Their burger is both monstrous and mouth watering. Overall if you're looking for a chill night out, or looking for a live band on a weekday, or in the summer dance to a live DJ out in the patio - Northern lights is where you want to be. It's not a college bar and the crowd it attracts is the type you want to stay and inquire into the lives too.

I love this gem of a place in Detroit. The patio is sexy and great place to grab food or a drink with a friend or date.

Hi All, hung out at Northern Lights & it was really nice! The vibe, cocktails & serice was ALL on point!! And what I really liked & appreciated even more was that the people were mature which made my visit so good & fun! And the house music was so on point!

Such a cute place with a very retro dive bar feel. We went for brunch on a Saturday morning and there was plenty of seating available. Mimosas are only 3 dollars which is a perk. I had the loaded hash and enjoyed the fresh veggies cooked in. It feels very homecooked and I like that.

Probably my favorite bar in Detroit. It's old Detroit that is not yet blown out by the new. Fantastic buffalo wings and nachos. Every Thursday has the best show in the city and with no cover. Very diverse based on race, age, and persuasion. Neighborhood bar vibe at happy hour. I'd give it six stars if I could.

Love their patio, great spot to hang out by a fire and listen to some eclectic music on vinyl (last night it was vinyl at least)

This is one of Detroit’s hippest and most diverse watering holes, with great food, and the best patio in town.

Fantastic! The Maple Wing's were the best wings I've ever had, hands down. Bartender was very friendly and super fast on drinks and food. Highly recommend.
