Sanctuary Detroit

We just saw MIKE and really enjoyed the show. It is an intimate venue with friendly staff, comfortable atmosphere, nice sound system, and overall good vibes. We parked nearby at a free lot and noticed plenty of other parking nearby.

Great little venue to see music. Small but but not cramped, great service and friendly atmosphere.

Great place to see shows. The sound quality is great, and there's lots of room to mosh around. Lol.

Came for a show. Never been here before. Really nice small venue. The staff and security were really nice. Bathrooms kept clean.

One of my favorite small venues. Reasonable prices, great staff, professional sound, and wonderful atmosphere. I've never had a bad time here. The only negative is the stage lights always seem to be red and blue, making it hard to photograph anything or anyone, but the vibes are great!

Went out to the Sanctuary to see The Screaming Females (who were absolutely fantastic), but The Sanctuary was clean, and the acoustics were great. Also, the drinks were well priced! Would love to be back soon for more shows!!!

This is a nice venue! Staff was friendly and it seemed like they enjoyed what they were doing. Their bathrooms were clean and stocked with toilet paper and soap which is a huge plus for any venue in my opinion, lol. They have a lil water cooler with lil cups available for people who just want some water. And the cherry on top for me is the art on their walls. It's amazing.

Came in from Indiana yesterday to see a show. Every single person in this building was so great! Employees and patrons. The bartender Adam was the dopest of the dope! They have a Mercyful Fate Jesus and it's the best thing I've ever seen. Ten out of ten can't wait to come back in October for Cold as Life!

Very very small place. 5 person band has little room on stage. If the show is sold out, it’s hard to move around in there. However, tickets are still about $25 and beer is $4. And you don’t have to pay for parking.

If you're into the extreme music scene you already know about The Sanctuary. For those looking for a cool spot to catch a club-size concert in the Detroit area, this is an excellent venue. They've done a fantastic job updating the whole facility inside and out. Great bar staff and they offer Liquid Death (non-alcoloic beverage) which is a big plus for me personally.

The Sanctuary books tons of killer bands, so keep a close eye on their event calendar.

Parking in Hamtramck is a nightmare everywhere, so just plan on that being a headache, but that's not on the venue. That's just part of venturing into that side of town.

My favorite venue for small shows. Drink selection is good. Great setup for shows.

I always knew "Paychecks" had potential for bigger venue then it was!

Home of Sanctuary Fight Club, an independent pro wrestling promotion. SFC has a show just about every month. Definitely worth the price of admission.

Very small venue. I think it only holds maybe 300 people. I would definitely go there again.

Hands down one of best sounding small venues I have been to. Staff is friendly and works hard. The location is for sure sketchy, but it is northern Detroit.

I have been to a lot of small venues over the last 2 decades for metal shows. I have only been to The Sanctuary once and I cannot wait to go again. Most small venues end up overcrowded. This leads to more security, and sometimes tense situations. The bar or wait staff is swamped meaning getting a drink can take some time. Using the bathroom can take even longer. None of this was a problem at The Sanctuary. It was one of the cleanest shows I have been to in a while, the bar staff was almost always available or I was next in line, the bathroom wait maxed out at maybe 1 or 2 people. Security was mostly at the door, because it wasn't needed that much elsewhere. Just an overall great experience for a small place.
