DYNO Detroit Climbing

I love DYNO! This is my favorite rock climbing place. I love the bouldering and auto belay climbs. This was the first place I had ever done traditional rock climbing. The staff is great and the facilities are clean and safe. 10/10

Great staff is really friendly. They have something g for everyone. You will get sore. You will have fun and you will get scared.
All around, really clean everything. Looks new. They change walls every week so it's never the same. Parking is safe inside a lot on the property. They have a food stand, but it wasn't open during the day on Monday. Will be coming back.

Friendly atmosphere, and great facility. I go to Dyno for both weightlifting and rock climbing. It can get very crowded after 5pm on weekdays, though. Not a true fault, but just something to be aware of.

I love so much about Dyno. I've made lifelong friends, rediscovered my love of climbing, gotten in great shape, and found my home away from home here. The routes are reset on a fairly regular basis, with a great mix of styles. The employees are friendly and clearly passionate about climbing. The fitness area is well equipped. The monthly membership is a reasonable price. I wish they were open earlier on the weekends, it gets pretty crowded with kids/families.

This is a large climbing gym with a huge bouldering area with routes of all types and quite a few top rope options as well.

The staff are friendly and helpful and got us on the walls pretty quickly after an orientation. We are experienced climbers and the ratings are definitely on the harder side here.

Being one of the few climbing places around, it does get very crowded. However, the bouldering area was large enough that we were able to find appropriate routes away from the crowds just fine.

All of their climbs are accurate in the Kaya app, so major plus there.

They also have a cool little hand care station for any hand damage you end up with.

DYNO is the best climbing gym I've ever been too! Very clean and all the employees are friendly. The boulders are amazing and they have lots of walls.

The staff are so friendly and the facility is super clean. I was brand new to climbing and started to go to DYNO didn’t feel any pressure. Even the other experienced climbers are super inviting. Great atmosphere.

Absolutely loved my experience at DYNO climbing gym! Here for a quick layover but had fun bouldering and using the auto belays. The staff were very nice as well (thank you Page).

Had an amazing experience here the other day. We came on a weekday which was perfect for us beginners 🟰 less crowded. Carolina was really sweet and explained everything well during our tour. The owner Dino was also very personable and encouraging.

Side note- I’m in no way shape or form super athletic or thin. As a plus size gal, I was worried about a few things but, shortly, I realized this place is very inclusive, and the instructors were encouraging overall. It seemed that all body types and athletic levels were welcomed here. It was exciting to try something new and feel very welcomed. We will be back!!

Such a 5 star gym! Staff is beyond friendly and great bouldering. We used auto belay too which they have a great variety of. But definitely worth a visit and a great value for the experience.

I love Dyno have been climbing there for a while. Finally got around to doing the learn the ropes course. I love the whole the staff they are amazing and I absolutely love Meg she’s great, a wonderful instructor, makes sure you’re safe (which is important) and I laughed so much my checks started hurting. This is the second time Meg has helped me out, first with equipment then with this course and she is amazing. Anyways love Dyno.

A couple of friends and I took a field trip to Dyno. Within a couple minutes after checking in, the owner came by to greet us while we were waiting for our belay check. He ended up doing our check for us. I was very excited to get up on the wall, but I was very much enjoying our time spent with Dino and learning about his gym. The gym was clean, routes were clearly marked, holds were immaculate, and there were a lot of options for top rope, lead, bouldering, and auto belay. I only top rope and I had more than enough options to choose from. We live a good distance from Dyno, and my current gym is 2 miles from my house, but I am seriously considering a 2nd climbing membership and making Dyno into a weekly field trip. We will be back VERY soon.

Really nice new gym. I have been to a handful of climbing gyms and this is definitely my favorite in the US so far.

Both the boulders and the route climbing are set well. Fun and challenging. They seem to be rotated out rather frequently.

Staff is really friendly and will help you out with whatever you need. A big plus for me is that they are open for long hours and pretty late most nights and also relatively early in the morning. They have nice gear for sale if you need it as well.

The gym is really new at this point but I'm pumped for the member events they are planning to have.

Cool space, lots of interesting wall angles, good amount of work out equipment (including a Kilter Board!) and thoughtful routesetting. Staff was all very welcoming and friendly. Nice gym!

The entire staff was super friendly. It was my bday and my friend surprised me with a day of climbing. Couldn't have asked for a better place to celebrate. Thanks Brock, Kenny, Sam and Lucy. Everyone helped to make it one of the best birthdays I've had a long time.

I'll definitely be back soon. Might have gotten hooked.💪🏼😄❤

DYNO Detroit is by far the most excellent gym I have ever been to. They have stupendous rock climbing, a complete weight room, and magnificent staff. When you go here, you are welcomed with big smiles and low prices. The rock climbing is a lot of fun and challenging to say the least. Climbing is an extraordinary workout without it even feeling like a workout. I love this place with all my heart and I am certain you will be satisfied if venture to this gym!

It was my first time climbing and I'm glad I started here. They provide very good orientation and demonstration of the facility and equipments. Reasonable prices as well 20$ for a day pass and additional 8$ for rental gear. Lot of bouldering and couple of auto belay options for first timers. Would definitely be coming back again!

I love this indoor climbing gym. Friendly & helpful staff, clean facility, & some treadmill & weights tailored for climbing. They also change the routes regularly (after 3 months or so). Lead climbing, top roping, bouldering, they all have it here. Staff are always on the lookout to coach & give tips on how to top the routes. I signed up for membership after my first visit & had been going here 3-4 times a week for more than a couple of months now.

Literally the best rock climbing gym I’ve been to. The atmosphere is amazing, the holds are new, and the staff is absolutely amazing (literally every single person that works here). I spend most of my spare time here and have met so many awesome climbers. Also rock climbing should come with a warning because it is addictive!

As a very novice climber, this place was wonderful! Gear rental was very affordable ($8.48 for everything I needed), and the orientation and basic instruction was extremely helpful and delivered by cheerful team members. The whole place feels like a community- staff and regulars all know each other, and are welcoming and encouraging to newbies. They’re still requiring masks indoors, and the gym felt super safe and clean.
