Van Alstine Family Dentistry

I am willing to drive 20 minutes (as opposed to going to a dentist who is 5 min from my house/work) for so many reasons - warm friendly reception staff and dental assistants, a blanket for comfort while in the dental chair, really good explanations of the dental work being done, excellent referrals for additional dental services like orthodontics or root canals. Dr. Nancy Van Alstine is a very knowledgeable and easy to like professional who stays up to date with current dental innovations. I’m so grateful that my whole family has a dentist that we trust and makes us feel comfortable at every appointment.

The staff at Van Alstine Family Dentistry are amazing. I always feel very welcomed and taken care of when I go here. Other offices I've been to seem to get you in and out. At Van Alstine they describe to you what they are doing when they are doing it so you don't feel confused and rushed through your appointment. This is by far thee best dentist office in town! Dr. Nancy Van Alstine and her team are simply amazing!! They are personable, friendly, and most of all a great team! They do outstanding work and put patient needs first! I have been a patient for over 10 years. Both of my children are patients as well! I can't say enough wonderful things about this outstanding dentistry!!

We just started seeing Dr. Van Alstine a year ago and we're very happy we did! After searching through different reviews on many different websites I decided to go here and what a great decision! Everyone is extremely nice and more importantly very understanding. They absolutely do not judge about your past dental history (or lack thereof!) They are genuinely concerned with helping you take care of- and fixing!- your dental issues. There's no pressure to do or get procedures you don't want or feel ready for. Their pain management is phenomenal, which is a deal breaker for me! I feel lucky I found Dr. Van Alstine's practice!

I have had the pleasure of having Dr. Wallace Van Alstine and now his daughter Dr. Nancy Van Alstine as my dentists for many years. I have had nothing but outstanding dental care for both routine and emergency dental situations. The entire staff is professional and friendly and I truly feel they care about my well being (not just my teeth). Dr. Nancy has been instrumental in providing a positive dental experience for my twins (now 10 years old) that I never had when I was a child. My twins have no anxiety or fear of dental care at all thanks to Dr. Nancy's young child dental program.

From the initial call for my first appointment, to the amazing website to enter in my information to the fantastic text reminders of my upcoming appointment to my actual appointment. All I can say is why haven’t I come to Van Alstine Family Dentistry years ago!! If your reading this review and considering coming to this Dentist office PICK UP THE PHONE AND MAKE AN APPOINTMENT!! I promise you, you won’t be disappointed !! The staff is absolutely amazing, caring, professional, gentle and highly trained on the most state of the art equipment available. They have had an amazing impact on my teeth and gums and are continuing to help me to make a dream come true of smiling with my mouth open which I’ve been to embarrassed to do in the past. I've been a going to Van Alstine Family Dentistry for years and I've always received exceptional care. Joe, the new hygienist, is no exception. The cleaning he did was fast, thorough, and as pain-free as possible given my sensitive teeth. He is a definite asset and great addition to the team!

From the initial contact with the receptionist,which could be Dr. Van Alstine herself,the professionalism; as well as the family like ambience, is an incredible experience.I had a front row seat observing Dentistry in the 21st century-A total team effort orchestrated by one director-working towards one goal-making an unpleasant situation anything but- also having the resources to produce a crown while you wait, not weeks later was amazing.A one stop shop.Nothing is out of the control of your dentist-If I seem impressed I am. I am 65 years old and cannot believe how pleasant a “dentist appointment” can be and have such an incredible result. I can smile broadly!

I've been a patient since the early 70's. Wally Van Alstine, who I nick named Painless, took care of my dental needs until his retirement. He stayed up to date by teaching at a local dental school and his daughter Nancy, who runs the practice now, is seemingly going to every seminar out there.

So glad I chose Dr Van Alstine's office for my dental care. Everybody is so knowledgable and friendly. I've also been impressed with the referrals she has given me for oral surgery (and they had great things to say about her as well!). Totally recommend!

As a dentist I hold a high standard of dental care for myself and my family. Dr. VanAlstine and her outstanding team recently provided me with an unforgettable experience. My comprehensive examination included more than the usual periodontal and caries examination. I was thoroughly screened for head and neck cancer, deficiencies in my smile and ideal aesthetics, and my daily function. Dr. VanAlstine and her team met my concerns with patience and empathy. I would highly recommend Dr. VanAlstine to anyone who wishes to find a dental home interested in preserving and maintaining their smile for life.

Very thorough and friendly. I appreciate attention to detail. And ON TIME! Yeah, I know... A novel idea. I waited less than five minutes, and quite honestly, I was early. I love supporting a fellow Ypsi small business. I'll be back! So... I have to add, I have never, NEVER had anyone take such fastidious care of my teeth! Still fabulous!

Awesome dentist! Their new immediate crown making equipment is state of the art, and they use it well. Crowns fit perfectly, no complications at all.
