No food menu other than a soup of the day made by the barmaids mother. Whatever she feels like cooking, the day we visited is split pea, and not a fan of peas, this was loaded with chunks of ham and potatoes. Very stick to your ribs soup. A shot and a beer rounded out the “meal” the bartender was super friendly even had us sign her up”out of towners” book as we were from Alabama. When you search dive bar this is a go too place. Don’t let the doorbell deter you, or the seedy neighborhood. Stop in and see the “Oldest Bar in Detroit”

I enjoyed the old style the bar has. We went here on the Drunks of Antiquity bus tour, so it was a fun stop while learning the history of the place.

This Establishment was on a bar tour! Oldest bar in Detroit. Served many other purposes in its circa 100 year existence.

Prepare to be transported back in time and immersed in the enchanting ambiance of this hidden gem—a bar that effortlessly combines history, charm, and a laid-back atmosphere. As I stepped into its doors, I felt an immediate sense of warmth and familiarity, as if I had stumbled upon a well-kept secret known only to those seeking an extraordinary experience.

Nestled within the walls of this establishment are countless tales that trace back to the year 1876, painting a vivid picture of a bygone era. Whispers of a haunting linger in the air, adding an intriguing layer to the already captivating setting. Although I didn't encounter any otherworldly encounters during my visit, the allure of the bar's historical mystique certainly left me captivated.

One of the highlights of my evening was the plethora of entertainment options that awaited me. From classic board games to engaging rounds of checkers, pool, and even pinball, there was never a dull moment. It was a testament to the thoughtful curation of activities, providing ample opportunities for patrons to unwind and engage in friendly competition.

However, it wasn't just the fascinating history or the captivating ambiance that made this bar truly exceptional—it was the exceptional service provided by a bartender named Danielle. Her expertise and passion for mixology shone through as she skillfully crafted a myriad of delightful concoctions. Among her memorable recommendations was a tantalizing Michigan cherry vodka creation, whose name eludes me in this very moment. Rest assured, though, its exquisite flavor left an indelible impression.

In this establishment, one can't help but feel transported to the era of speakeasies and clandestine rendezvous. The subtle hints of that era's allure are unmistakable, gently guiding you through an unforgettable evening. It's a place that effortlessly marries the past with the present, granting each visitor a unique experience that can't be found elsewhere.

For those who appreciate the rich tapestry of history, this bar is a treasure trove waiting to be explored. Whether you're a history buff or simply seeking a low-key date night in Detroit, this establishment promises an enthralling journey. Allow yourself to be enveloped by the echoes of the past, the laughter of fellow patrons, and the clacking of billiard balls as you savor each moment.

As I bid farewell, I knew without a doubt that I would return to this extraordinary bar, eager to reconnect with the congenial atmosphere and perhaps challenge a friend to a game of pool. It is a place where memories are forged, laughter is shared, and time seems to stand still—a testament to the enduring allure of this remarkable establishment.

Make sure to pay them a visit and discover the magic for yourself. Prepare to be transported, for this bar is more than just a place—it is an experience that will linger in your heart long after you've left.

This place is a gem. Family owned establishment. Detroit's oldest bar. Always a good time. Stop by and learn the incredible history of the place and of the neighborhood or maybe run into friends. Check it out on a Wednesday when Mary is cooking up something delicious. Check your wallet, do a head count and RING THE BELL

This place was great! One of the oldest bars around. I loved the vibe. We didn't have any food, just drinks. The bartender is a great story teller and we're looking forward to our next visit.

Old style dive. Beautiful, well cared for. Incredible owners and staff. Pinball machines and pool! Just gotta buzz the doorbell to get in.

Dirt cheap drinks.

Call ahead for large parties!

I can't say anything bad about this place. We had a tour that took us here. Lots of history here at Two way. Just had a few drinks and service, both we're good! I found out Norris visits on occasion. Ask the owner to explain. The drinks were strong but I did not have enough to see the big man named Norris.

I came here from Denver with a couple locals because of its paranormal history. We spent 3 hours because the staff and the local patrons were so welcoming and chatty. It was such a great experience! I wish I lived here so I could go more often. Go for the possible ghost sightings, but stay because the place is awesome! Highly recommend!!

This is a great neighborhood corner bar. We went here once on a "haunted" bus tour. I didn't see any ghosts 👻, but we got to learn a little history on the place. If I remember correctly, it's the oldest single family owned bar in Detroit?

~ When I visit the city, there’s a handful of bars I love to belly up to.

Owned & run by Polish Ladies, you know the service, cleanliness & atmosphere is going to be 2nd to none.

Ring the bell to be let in. Ask Jennifer to talk about this bar's history. If you're in the area and like detroit history, this is a mandatory visit.

Went there a little bit ago for the 50th anniversary because my dad is good friends with the owner and I'm friends with the owners daughter, obviously I'm gonna give it a 5 star rating, not because of the circumstances, but because it's genuinely a good place to go to grab a few drinks with your friends on a Saturday night.

I ordered an Old Fashioned, and the bartender took the time to pretty much interview me on my bourbon preferences so she could pick the best one for my taste. That level of customer service is VERY rare. In case you're wondering, I landed on Bulleit Bourbon, and the Old Fashioned was very good.
