The new ownership have raised the bar a notch. The management seems very responsive, so I’ve edited and updated my review.

The food has a bit of “destination” appeal to it, worth a short side trip if the options appeal to you and you want something new. The “everything” avocado toast was definitely a cut above. The breakfast burrito was tasty but with extra salsa it’s definitely a joy. The lattes were good. The outdoor seating is nice and the street isn’t busy. The menu isn’t massive but that’s not a bad thing and they have specials so you’ll always have a new option.

We went for a late breakfast, and everything was extremely tasteful. These new owners have done a great job with the food and the building itself. We will be back.!!!!

Fiddleheads is a quaint restaurant with great food. I have had Sunday breakfast there twice and loved it. The hasbrowns are unique and oh sooo yummy! They have local, fresh, fare, made to order. You can sit inside or outside on the porch. Beautiful scenery all year.

FIVE STARS FOR FIDDLEHEADS THURSDAY SUPPER!
Breakfast and lunch were already excellent at this charming cafe in picturesque Hancock, New Hampshire—with incredible homemade muffins, donuts, cookies, salads, eggs and sandwiches. But now they’re branching out for dinners too.
For those of you who were lucky enough to try Fiddleheads first Thursday Night Supper, cleverly named "Waxing Crescent" after the moon, congratulations!
For everyone else, you too can get lucky when the suppers resume the Thursday after Thanksgiving.
Cozy romantic lighting and the quirky tea towel curtains transformed the bustling cafe into a calm and cozy retreat.
Every dish our party of five had was a delight.
Blue Hubbard and Ginger Soup was proclaimed, "Maybe the best soup I've ever had." Instead of the usual gooey, cheesey, thick soup often encountered with squash, Fiddlehead's was a robustly flavored broth that showcased the nutty Hubbard and spoke of rich leafy Fall.
Sumac Pickled Onion and Fennel Salad was sharp and crisp and in an unexpected counter point, larded with shreds of tender duck confit.
Garrigue Kippered Salmon with Fresh Radish and Pickled Beat was lightly smoked and resting on a bed of hard cooked egg and dilly cream. This dish took one directly to a heathery streambank in Scottish Highland where it may have been prepared right after being caught.
The entrees we had, Chicken Milanese with roasted cauliflower, caper, lemon and shaved apple with spicy greens and a Red Wine Braised Short Rib with dried fruit, arugula gremolata on a pond of black peppered polenta were completely satisfying--the richness of the meat, set off and highlighted by sharp contrasts of sour, bitter and sweet accents of vegetable, herb and sauce, lingered.
Cranberry and Lime Curd Tart is a revelation that should be on everyone's Thanksgiving table from now on. Roasted Apple Cobbler with salted caramel and sweet rosemary biscuit and vanilla ice cream is the Platonic ideal of an apple dessert. And calling the flourless, espresso flavored, boozy orange cream topped dessert simply "Chocolate Cake" is a funny way of disguising a plate that no one could stop eating.
The wine list is perfect--small, focused and affordable. And if beer is your preferred beverage the representation is as varied and food friendly as you could want.
I don't believe I've had a better meal in the whole Monadnock Region. And the price was as good or better than many.
If we all say our prayers or nicely ask Santa, Fiddleheads Thursday supper will spread over the whole weekend.

But for now, pick a Thursday and GO.

Great little cafe in a picturesque New England town! We had delicious sandwiches and the food came quickly. It has a nice porch with tables and great ambiance inside. We shared 2 very tasty pastries and the coffee is excellent. We highly recommend this place!

Had lunch. Egg salad on rye was filling. Wife had a turkey wrap with lots of veggies and the turkey was nice chunks of breast meat. I had a lemonade and a brownie. She had iced tea. Not cheap but pleasant and filling.

Um- WOW! Husband said he was going to get takeout from a place in Hancock and we were a bit weary as it’s hard to get good food around here. Best takeout I’ve had in a LONG time. Even better than most places close to “civilization”. You can tell they put a lot of time and care into their food. My new favorite place!

A hidden gem! Phenomenal small town breakfast place with a great selection of options for gluten free and vegetarian folks. The food is fresh and local, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. The coffee is delicious, and all you can drink if you dine in. So worth a stop if you're in the area!

We got 4 different sandwiches all on homemade bread and they were fantastic. So good that we went back in for dessert and coffees that were also delicious. We will be back. Beautiful area and nice outdoor seating in the sun or shade. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Sherry and her team at Fiddleheads were wonderful! They catered our wedding. Sherry helped us create our menu very early on in the wedding planning. The team showed up on time and had everything ready for us.

The food here will definitely not disappoint! Everything was so delicious, all our guests were very pleased with the food. Sherry also made our cake which was beautiful! she did a phenomenal job recreating what I was hoping for. Absolutely wonderful!

Sandwiches on homemade bread. Doesn't get much better. Highly recommend the Big Ben on toasted sour dough.
This is a place that really puts an effort into making their food a good experience. Much like the rest of Hancock, this place is authentic and personable.
From locals to passerbys, they'll treat you well here.

Stopped in on the way to hike Monadnock and had 2 of the best paninis ever…Drooling thinking about the fresh roast beef, melty Gorgonzola and crisp red onion sammy! We also took a wrapped slice of carrot cake for the top (moist as hell and perfect cream cheese frosting) not too sweet but perfect treat. One of NH’s hidden gems no doubt :)
