Angelo's Pizza and Sub Shop

Not only is this amazing pizza, but they help find lost pets by putting flyers on pizza boxes! Truly an amazing business I will continue to support! Our bird was found and we appreciated the help. I tried their pizza for the first time too and it was great!

Tried this pizzeria for the first time tonight after being disappointed with our “usual” place for the last few weeks. We Had a regular cheese pie. The pie was just coming out of the oven when I arrived. The man who took my payment (owner?) was very friendly. My family devoured the pie tonight. Usually, we have a few slices leftover. Will definitely be ordering our weekly pizza from Angelo’s from now on.

I am currently eating one the best pizzas I’ve ever had. Angelo’s is the best; always fresh, great ingredients and years of experience. I’ve been going since I was a kid and will keep going.

Thank you so much for bringing us back to our childhood!! The pizza was amazing, crispy crust, high quality toppings! To die for. Not only that but the atmosphere was great! We had an awesome conversation with the owner! Definitely adding this to our top spots for whenever we come into town.

My first time at Angelo's Pizza and I will be back again soon. We ordered 2 cheese steaks with fried onions and cheese. They were delicious and the bread was so fresh.I can't wait to try their pizza.

I’m surprised to see Angelo’s only has a 4.3 rating! We eat at Angelo’s before my daughters gymnastics class and also order for delivery (usually Grubhub) and we have never been disappointed! The food is always delicious and the owner is very pleasant and friendly.

I stopped in last night with my wife. We had a 2 slices of the grandma pie. It is the best pizza in Matawan.OMG the variety of flavors that hit your mouth with the first bite is heavenly. The crust is peppered with sesame seeds and is super delicious. I can't wait to order again, you guys want real pizza that will leave your mouth watering, make sure to visit here! You will not be sorry!!

This was our regular Friday-night pizza place when I was growing up just around the corner - literally decades ago - and it's awesome to see the family still in business. Stopped in on a trip a few days ago, and was thrilled to see that the pizza is as good today as it was years and years ago. Grab a few garlic knots if you can, it's real garlic, not the jar stuff. Buffalo chicken is legit a fantastic option, and you can never go wrong with the pepperoni. Long live Angelo's pizza!

BEST Italian food in NJ! The pizza is amazing and penne vodka is out of this world! Fresh food that tastes great! Highly recommend!

Best pizza in Matawan, imo. Fast, friendly service in a casual atmosphere. Family owned. My go to spot for Italian.

Owner is so down to earth and has a huge heart, not uncommon to see a few extra garlic knots in your order that you didn't expect:)
Pizza is fantastic (Try the Rustic Style) and the dishes are delicious, with "Italian" sized portions. We've been coming here for close to 5 years.

This place is incredible. The owner and his son are humble, talented, personable but mostly incredible people. They take pride in everything they make and it shows with the first bite. The pizza is delicious and the seafood fra diavolo is the best you'll ever get. We are very fortunate to have met them. The bar is raised and I doubt any place will ever reach that high.

Place is excellent!!! Literally treated like family every time my wife and I go in there for either lunch or even picking up an order. Best pizza in town. Must try their Sicilian grandma’s pie you will not be disappointed.

Best pizza and even better people! You can tell walking in that this is a family owned business. The staff cheerfully banters amongst themselves and the regulars. If a newcomer is willing, they're pulled in to the gentle, good-natured teasing.

This is quite simply, hands down the best NYC pizza I've ever had. And I'm so, so glad it's in my neighborhood here. The smell, taste, the soft accents, the friendly welcome all remind me of my Brooklyn Best Pizza. Angelo's outdoes them in so many ways

You start with a crust that's crisp and chewy, no small feat. It sets the tone for the minimalist use of sauce; it's enough to marry the delicious, freshly grated aged Mozzarella to the crust. The sauce has a slight sweetness. It absolutely explodes with THIS SAUCE IS MADE FROM FRESH TOMATOES!

The sauce has minimal spices, minimal additions. It;s sweet with the fresh scent of tomtoes (and if you're lucky like I was, Angelo will tell you how the place opened up. All he needs is a small rug, some wee chairs and a picture book and you'd have kids flocking to him to hear his stories.

10/10. Go! You won't regret it. And as of 10/01/13, if you check-in at Angelo's using the Facebok check in app, you'll get a free canolli when you show it at the cash register!

Keep in mind this is a pizza place and table service is not their forte. It's still a lot of fun and a good time out if you choose to eat there, just remember it's not as full service restaurant.

I just had my first pizza from Angelos and all I can say is I’m coming back for more !! The best pizza I’ve had in years and will be ordering from here now on at work . The pizza was amazing and trust me many of my coworkers stated the same ! Great food and great staff!!

I went to Angelos on Thursday the pizza was so good I love the Buffalo 🦬 slice and the staff are very nice and make sure you get a nice hot pizza 🍕 today on Saturday I begged my mom to get myself a Buffalo slice I love the pizza 5 stars for me

Well..Since I am from Long Island...There's definitly nothing like NY Pizza..Angelos on the other hand definitly won me over. The first day i stepped foot in there the owner made me feel like he had known me forever. The hospitality is 100%, it makes you feel like home. The food is absolutely delicious. I finally found my NJ Pizza place that I can say, they def no how to make pizza! There is no need to change anything you guys do..Traditional is always better. Good Luck to you guys! Wow is all I could say!! Just recived a Foccacia sandwich and it is amazing! Definitely my new lunch spot. Quick delivery friendly staff and delicious quality food. This place Definitely gets 5 stars.

Greatest pizza in town and all around together! Family owned business, They have good prices and Focaccia chicken is delicious! I recommend them.
