Del Alcazar Carlos MD

Dr Del is the best GP I’ve been to in my many decades on this planet. He is caring, genuine, knowledgeable, sharp, thoughtful, trustworthy, affable and interesting.
He does often run over time wise so you may experience a delay. I factor that in to my visit planning because he’s worth it. The reason he’s behind is because he is thorough and careful. He’s listening and asking questions to help you. I’m positively devoted to his care and expertise. Very unique and special individual and Dr.
Honest and cool too.

I am a long-time Old Bridge resident and never had a primary care physician. I went straight to a specialist when needed but had no GO-TO doctor.

I decided to align with a doctor to manage my care as things change as we age.

Dr. Del was my first step into the batter's box and I felt I hit a home run with my first swing.

I was looking for someone who would listen to my questions and not at all be judgmental. Dr. Del was patient and very thorough with me. My first appointment lasted approximately 40 minutes and no stone was left unturned.

His follow-up has been amazing and I love his staff.

I have been a patient of Dr. Del Alcazar for 14 years now. He is the most caring, patient and thorough doctor I have ever had. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a primary care physician.

Dr. Del Alcazar is a great doctor. He is thorough, listen to you and explains everything. I have been going to him for over 10 years and I would not see anyone else. He caught my heart (birth defect) in time, as it was progressing. He speaks fluent spanish, which was great for my mother. I even have my grown children going to him. He is THE BEST!

Dr. del Alcazar is one of the best doctor's I've had. Extremely thorough and patient. Even though you're a relatively new patient, he treats you as if you've been a patient for years. I can understand some of the reviews here regarding the staff but I've dealt with worse. I've recommended Dr. del Alcazar to other friends and they're also very happy with him.

We have been going to Dr. Del Alcazar for years and we find him to be the best at providing us with the needed medical care. He takes the time to really discuss your options and help you make sound decisions. I'd highly recommend anyone who's looking for a new physician.

Dr. Del Alcazar is one of the best doctor I have ever met. I have been in his care for over 12 years. I also recommended my family to see him. He is knowledgeable, thorough, kind, caring, compassionate.

Call for medicine, no answer. Call to make an appointment, no answer. Leave voicemails no one calls back.
Pay co-pays and bills, the office manager Nancy says there's a balance and wants proof i paid. I show it to her and STILL tells me it was not paid! No matter how Nice you are to this lady, she is still nasty. ALWAYS gives a hard time. Does not want to give the DR your messages. DR never calls me back because she does not give the messages.
I need medication, she will not help at all.
She told my daughter she cannot discuss anything with her DR unless she tells her first. WHY!!? Plus she can only discuss blood work and nothing more! Why are you her DR than!?
It seems as if you are bothering her! You are assisting people. If you do not like your job, find another one!
My family and I plus other outside please come here because of my referrals, we are ALL leaving because of Nancy Goldstein!
She needs to retire!!!!

No Stars. Please read and take into account the other reviews they are not wrong at all. Dr. Carlos Del Alcazar is an awesome Doctor, but his staff are ruining his practice.
No medicine no visit which was requested by the Doctor for me to be seen. They are trying to charge a patient for an appointment missed when I spoke to someone in the front desk yesterday and literally rescheduled for the next day with them and they never mentioned a cancellation or no show charge. They never answer and or get back to the patients when you call, you get busy tone when calling or that the person you are trying to reach is unavailable. Just a very unprofessional office. Never going back. Calling better business bureau on this office for their negligence in my care. I am a diabetic and asthmatic and I have issues with my kidneys. I never leave reviews, but this one took the cake. I told them I will take my business else where and ended the call. My husband now called and just tried to speak with the office manager to see if there is a record or an update on a patients chart for who ever spoke to me yesterday and gave me my appointment for today, which she stated that all three workers were present there with her and that no one says they spoke with me.

Didn't have a chance to meet Dr. Alcazar, because scheduled the in-person appointment and called me back at the scheduled day and wanted to switch it to web based appointment. Very unprofessional.

I have had quite the worst experience(s) with Dr. Del Alcazar over the last 5+ years. Between him and his office, it is just an embarrassment.

Dr. Del is a good doctor, a very caring person but, he does not have the slightest clue on how to run a doctors office and a few other things as well. It is truly disheartening. I rarely ever write reviews but I have just had it with this office. They don't try to help any situation or have tried to make the process of getting a prescription any simpler.

Thankfully Dr. Del wasn't writing prescriptions for medicine that would be detrimental to my health otherwise I would have been dead years ago. The amount of stress and anger caused by this office and Dr. Del Alcazar are absolutely unforgivable.

Had an appointment there last week for my son. Got there and wasn't even fully checked in but my son was already in the patient room. Dr. Del Alcazar runs in to the office and tells his receptionist to cancel all his appointments, apparently he had an emergency and had to go to his dentist cause he had a chipped tooth. Left and never went to tell my son that he was leaving and never even apologized to me. We took off of work for this appointment and he also needed to be seen. I will not be returning because you showed no professionalism! Apparently you have enough patients and do not need the 💰.

As amazing as Dr. Del Alcazar he is, his inept office staff makes it impossible to keep him as a doctor. As far as the doctor himself, I have never had a more down to earth, genuine, thorough doctor in my life. I thought I was set and would never need a new dr again. But after having his staff bully me into paying a copay during covid for a telemedicine visit that I knew was waived by Horizon by saying, no one else has a problem paying it and it taking 8 months to get a refund even after the insurance claim said zero responsibility. Then I convinced my boyfriend who hates doctors and doesnt trust them to see dr. Del alcazar through a telehealth visit and he absolutely loved him, only to have the office fraudulently file the claim as an in office visit yet send bills to the house that clearly state it was a telehealth visit and them tell us its OUR responsibility to call horizon and refile the claim(that's not how it works obviously). And thats been going on for 4 months now as well, after Horizon confirming that any type of telehealth visit is ZERO copay during that time period... Its just upsetting and offputting to have such a good doctor yet a horrendously incompetent office staff.

Dr. Carlos del Alcazar is a very pleasant dr. And is good at what he does. However the nursing staff there answer the phone very rudely and expect you to know youll be called back. I called to have script filled and when I stated I have one dose left and need to take another in the morning I was told verbatim “ then you’re good you’ll hear from us”. I understand if you’re busy and have work but this is not the way to answer the phone or inform a patient there is no concern we’ll get back to you before tonight. Will follow up if I do or don’t get a call back.

I've had it and leaving after almost 12 yrs.
Be a patient: If you want to make an appointment and wait an hour to be seen.
This understaffed, disorganized, inept, group will have you scratching your head if you waste your time changing drs. They are technologically so far behind the times so don't ask for anything to be done efficiently. Just look at the folders stuffed in every nook of that front office. The office manager is a bitter old woman that has serious problems- likely the root of the disorganization and tone of unprofessionalism that has infected most of the staff. I see why there is so much turnover in that dept.- one of the nurses escaped there just to go work at a pizza place instead of this daily head-banging. One of the doctors suggested listening to music in the car when my friend needed psychiatric care for her depression. I feel horrible for Dr Del who is a very nice man.
