Carter’s Restaurant and Lounge

Great meal and doing experience. We're considering having a wedding in the area. We had heard that Carter's did catering with our potential venue and had just walked in to have lunch. When we told the waiter we were interested in their catering, he got the owner, John, who took the time to sit down with us and describe their catering packages and to get to know us. His kindness and service were outstanding, and the food was delicious!

Great food and excellent service. The chicken and waffles and nachos were especially exceptional. The service was phenomenal and extremely attentive. They were also very accommodating of a large group with kids.

INCREDIBLE! Really cannot say which was better, the food, the service or the cocktails. We ordered almost every app & main on the menu (large group), and every single dish was outstanding. The menu has something for everyone- even the pickiest of eaters was accommodated with a smile and endless patience. Service was amazing. We never had to flag a server down or wait for a drink. I am STILL dreaming of their scrumptiously tender Prime Rib. A very impressive restaurant.

UPDATE: Still the best restaurant in Beacon. I’ve been here for about a year now— and this place has no equal. Food is inventive, seasonal and exciting. Service is always warm and inviting and the crowd is eclectic as ever. Keep on doing what you do Carter’s— five stars across the board.

I live in Beacon and this is my favorite place. There is also a large beautiful elegant dining room in the back if you have a large party.. The food and drink offerings are excellent in this family owned restaurant and reasonably priced

Carter’s came highly recommended from friends as well as on FB lists of local bars. I was there during Happy Hour and when I ordered a glass of Malbec the manager overhead and offered a suggestion that was $4 cheaper because of HH. The environment is laidback and friendly. John was managing that night, his brother was bartending, and their father was creating magic in the kitchen. John recommended the stuffed clams and they were just as promised. I saw another table sharing a large plate of nachos and I’ll have to go back if for no other reason than to try those.

This place is phenomenal really a hidden gem. We got the beets which were delicious and by boyfriend had the filet special and I had the regular filet mignon. It was outstanding, food was fast and hot, service was excellent. Highly recommend!

What a great experience! The Vibe of the restaurant is friendly and inviting. The Staff was super friendly and accommodating. The food was amazing, we had the Tomato Bisque soup, Stuffed Mushrooms and Mussels in white wine and garlic. We happened to be there on an evening that they had live music which kept the crowd going. John the owner could not have been more gracious. We will be back for sure!

We had an awesome 70th birthday party for 70 people! The food and drinks were fabulous, and the service was second to none! Great job, Carter's!!

Great food, bar windows open on to Main Street and nice outdoor seating in the back. Our bartender Van was outstanding !

Took my mom here awhile back for her birthday. The owner and his staff were beyond accommodating! They set up a table for us so we had room to sit even though the place was almost at capacity. They also allowed us to order a dinner special even though it wasn’t quite “dinner” time yet. Everything we ordered was delicious and we will certainly be back. Other owners in Beacon take note, this is how you run a business!

First time visiting Carter's and it won't be our last time either. John, welcomed us in and showed us to our table. He was extremely friendly and helpful. Our waitress was also really friendly and quick to answer any of our questions about the menu. They were both accommodating to our party of six. Service here is phenomenal and the food was also amazing. The atmosphere was nice and cozy even though it was 4 degrees last night.

Very nice servers and easily the best burger in Beacon. One of the few places that actually will cook the meat medium rare. The bun is unique, buttery, and very tasty. Loved the fries, too. My only complaint is that the ambiance is pretty basic. Still, loved it overall. I'll be back regularly.

My boyfriend and I came to Carters for a bite to eat and some drinks! We were absolutely blown away by the friendly staff working here. The food was AMAZING. Josh our server was on top of everything and was so friendly throughout. Josh was a pleasure and made us feel right at home.

We will definitely be coming back! This is our new favorite and will spread the word!!

Highly recommended stopping by Carters. Their tuna BLT is truly THE BEST. All the food and drinks are well crafted and you’ll enjoy everything they have to offer. The fish tacos were also perfect. The outside patio is adorable but so is inside, no bad seat in the place! Service is always great and prompt.

Love this place. We went for Happy Hour after doing a hike in Beacon. 1/2 price drinks & appetizers - great deal! Front room has a large & welcoming bar with tables for dining. Back room has a nice lounge area with couches and more tables. Fresh flowers on the tables, dimly lit which I like, warm & cozy. The staff was very efficient & attentive, plus they were able to accommodate my request for separate checks for 20 people! Highly recommend.

OH MY GOODNESS Carter's is the best restaurant / casual event space on Main Street! Jon Lombardi puts his heart into everything he does, and you feel like you are a family member when you're under his roof. Same goes for the staff. We had our rehearsal dinner and welcome party for our wedding guests at Carter's, just a few steps from the Roundhouse (our wedding venue). Jon OUTDID HIMSELF with the abundance and pure quality of food he delivered. The space is also newly renovated and so so beautiful! We had the time of our lives and it was all because of Jon and his team. We are so lucky to have found this spot - and we will be returning for years and years to come. Don't sleep on their brunch either!!

Blackened Salmon BLT was delicious. It was a great portion.
