Great place for a hike or a bike ride. It can be as challenging as you wish. Great views and a waterfall! Don't forget your fishing pole because there are plenty of pools of water just begging to be cast into!

Well maintained trails, not crowded, and a waterfall feature! What more could you ask for in a hike?

I can't recommend Washington Valley Park enough! It was an absolute delight to visit. The park offered a wonderful escape into nature, with a fantastic variety of wildlife to admire. On my most recent visit, I even spotted several types of woodpecker and a huge beaver den!

The highlight for me was definitely Buttermilk Falls. The cascading water was so picturesque, and the surrounding area was teeming with beautiful flowers, plants, and mature trees. It truly felt like a scene straight out of a painting.

The trails were well-maintained and offered options for both short and scenic hikes. It's a perfect place to stretch your legs, breathe in the fresh air, and immerse yourself in the beauty of the outdoors. And if you're looking for a lovely spot for a picnic, there are plenty of open areas that would be ideal.

Overall, Washington Valley Park was a fantastic experience. I left feeling refreshed and invigorated. Five stars for sure!

I come here with my family regularly because it is so close to home and really beautiful. We started a tradition that when we come we bring a bag and collect trash throughout the area. My kids enjoy this emencily, the more we find, the more accomplishment they feel. We love it.

11.18.22 Brisk walk in nature with no one around except for a couple of mountain bikers. We enjoyed this easy hike, although a bit rocky, slippery, and muddy in a few spots. The trails were well marked. There was a porta potty at the parking lot. Crossed a couple bridges. Saw some wildlife.

At certain points on certain paths you’d never know you were minutes away from speeding roads and modern life. A winding, green, multi-use set of paths crossing Newman’s lane, up and down some modest hills with views of water big and small. Polite trail for walking, jogging, running, and biking, with friendly vibes and occasionally a dog. We spot deer, green herons, hawks, all the residential birds, along with rabbits, milk snakes (not venomous), frogs, and the like. The historical factor of plodding revolutionary trails adds a dimension or two. A place to disappear into with regularity.

Broken bridge west toward the soccer fields in need of repair (dedicated to a scout).

We enjoyed our morning hike.
Be cautious lots of Broken Trees through.
Very Rocky path if you're older

Nice hiking trails that are clearly marked and have 3 main trails with each having 2 off shoots you can do as well.

It is maintained well and has a clean portapotty and garbage and recycling bin, and information board.

The trails are open to hiking, biking, and horses and the reservoir there I believe also is available for fishing too.

The time to complete each of the main trails for hiking at a normal pace is about.

Red - under 45 minutes
White - about 45 minutes
Blue - a bit over an hour

I would note many of the trails do get muddy and having either hiking shoes or boots is recommended.

The red trail is probably the least muddy and the white the most.

Happy Trails all!

A beautiful park to visit! Usually not too crowded. A perfect place to relax. The trail is a bit rocky at some points, so I would definitely recommend walking/hiking shoes for this trail.

I ride my mountain bike here and take my 2 sons hiking here. Very nice place to enjoy the outdoors. Terrain is very rocky in spots so be carefull of your ankles.

First time visiting this hidden gem today. Hiked the yellow trail to see Buttermilk Falls which was really beautiful even in February. We plan to do the trails on the other side of the park next trip so we can enjoy the reservoir. Lots of dog walkers and quite a few mountain bikers but everyone shared the trail well. Parking is limited at Hawk Point, so get there early.

Trails are well maintained. Lots of trails. Newmans lane section is usually filled with bikers so beware if ur dog is a free doggy. A few weird trail crossing across chimney rock road. Gilbride parking lot is tiny but a nice find.

Great variety of trails for hiking, mountain biking and trail running - flat, rolling, hilly, rocky. Park is not big but you can knit together a 10 mile loop if you want. You'll have to cross a couple of roads to do it though.

Beautiful park and views! Keep in mind there are multiple entrances. I recommend the Hawk Watching Parking Lot entrance for the best views!
